Bonefrog is a great OCR event for ultra folks. Does he ever do 4run/1walk for entire ultras and comments on that?

Sean here.... I never do a timed run walk as what if when you're supposed to run its uphill or you're supposed to walk and its downhill? its a good rule of thumb but for me its keep that HR low until you know you've got it. Pretty soon im gonna have a FREE how to run a 50k guide etc it'll help with all ultra distances!

@@coachb530 so yeah... I think the walk run is key but also how fast you run and how fast you walk is also a factor. Also depending on YOU specifically its different. some people do 2 to 1, 3 to 1, 3 to 2 etc.. so for me as a soccer player and someone who runs less miles for 100 miles id error on more walking early on. Id prob do a 3 to 1 or 3 to 2. but really keep the HR under 135 for as long as possible. that's for my body. so while doing the run walk id be staring at my HR trying to keep it under 135 and then walking accordingly. remember that your HR will drop much faster in the beginning when you start to walk from running vs 10 hours, 20 hours etc into it.
