Nah, I think Jessica Rabbit is kind of the opposite, tall and with an inverted triangle shape, almost hourglass.

@@wriggleby I'm not too educated but if i remember correctly shes based of a black singer or she was originally black but over time was changed and made to be white which is shocking, the world already needs so many more black people to be represented and betty boop was so iconic.

The body shape of these dolls would make a cute Tinkerbell! But I don't know what you would do about the eye shape.
I think the body is absolutely perfect for Tinkerbell too! But since there is the issue of the eye shape, she could do a head swap with a monster high doll or something similar in that case :O i think that'd be pretty neat
other channels focusing more on modifications might just sculpt over the eye sockets

This is so great! I love that you kept her darker skin tone - the woman who inspired Betty Boop was actually a Black woman, so it’s like a nod to her.

If you do a bit of research she was originally a poodle , then her present design was based on Helen Kane , but her creator wasn't aware that Helen copied Baby Esther acts ( the black lady you thought she was based on.)

I usually a quiet subscriber but I have to say this:
FINALLY someone is talking about the use of so much (unneccessary) plastic in doll packaging. I mean, as I just said, the plastic is just unneccessary and the items wich are wrapped in it, could easily be wrapped in paper, too. The doll industry is really not doing anything for global warming, the ocean or the environmet in general.
Sorry, but I just felt the need to write this, anyways, love you poppen❤
It's true, but there are many more aspects of dolls that should be looked at when thinking about plastic and environmentally harmful substances. Just talking about their packaging isn't enough, but it's a good start. If we're just focused on doll repainting, even though artists may be reusing secondhand dolls, there are always little changes that you can make when trying to be conscious about the environment. For example, maybe instead of buying new fabrics for clothing, you could purchase online lots of people selling their scrap fabrics. The fashion industry is one of the major contributing sources of landfill buildup. By using scrap fabrics, or even small bits of "cabbage", it could help reduce landfill buildup. And when making such small doll clothing, scrap fabrics are already cut to the perfect size. It can also be a good way to save money on higher end fabrics and fabrics that are harder to find. Also, when using yarn to creat wigs or reroot, using natural fibers such as alpaca yarn instead of synthetic yarn could also help. They may seem like small things, but stuff like that can build up over time. And on a platform like this, talking about little things like that can inspire thousands to be more concious of their carbon footprint too. 😊
Oh, also... There's a toy channel called GreatBigToyBox. She often does product reviews and box opening of these LOL brand toys. And the packaging is like Evil Genius level!! I mean, they're extremely expensive and half of the "surprises" are little stickers or riddles written on paper. But every single one is wrapped in plastic! It's maddening to watch. She'll often pile all of the non-recyclable packaged up at the end of the video, and it literally makes me want to cry! I swear whoever designed these little dolls is some kind of mad genius billionaire trying to quicken global warming and the end of thw world! 🤔 Just sayin'.

@@LarissaDawn dolls can obviously be reused, however the plastic that holds the doll in the box, and the packages that lol usually uses for blind bags serve no purpose once they are torn open. Just be nice if they used materials that could be recycled, because in a lot of places especially where I live they do not recycle plastic.

Beautiful custom! I'd love to see more LOL OMG customs - maybe Sailor Moon (big anime eyes would suit the head sculpt) or dolls inspired of classic cartoon characters like the Looney Toons (that would make a cool series).

That is so unfortunate... my daughter is 13 and done with her dolls. She was so gentle with them anyway, but I would love to be able send them to her and see them transformed.

I love how much care she puts into dolls. She doesn't just say "here's the doll, let's repaint!" She takes time to admire the doll and give a small critique, then dress it up and appreciate what the doll was meant to be before "destroying it"
I know it's kinda different when she gets used dolls (if she does) or if she gets dolls she's used several times before like the monster high dolls she often uses. This was a new doll and you can tell she loves what she does. I love it 💜💜💜

I have always been a huge Boop boop de boop fan. I also have green eyes and Betty was the only character that also had green eyes on occasion until recently. I also knew that she was basically loosely based on Baby Esther and I think that made her all the more special. I'm so glad that you kept the doll's basic skin tone and it is a huge nod to Baby Esther. I also love her hair! The yarn actually curled up very nicely into the shape that she wore. I know it is very hard to see it on the vintage cartoons, but that is basically how she would have worn it. Great job!

True it really does feel more of the original inspiration of betty boop and also very accurate specially the hair

YuniX2 I didn’t know that! I admit I was a little confused as why she was keeping the doll’s natural skin instead of the white of Betty but that makes sense. Plus there’s always room for more representation imo so while I was confused I was far from upset lol

I am SO HAPPY you left this dolls original skin tone! For people who may not know Betty Boop was based off of a Black silent film star! It just makes me so happy to see 1) a nod to the history of the character and 2) more dark skinned dolls in general

I would have loved all the surprises when I was a kid.
I always think these dolls have a bit more mature themes than I'd like for kids, but I would have had so much fun unwrapping all the accessories...I still have a big thing for miniature anything, so that shoebox is so adorable!.
