Indeed it was a war, a psychological war, which was to set the game on fire whole heartedly. The passions was easily seen on both sides from fans and players, the intensity was high that painted a strong desire to win. Then, they went at it, the battle - rugby! Ireland came way short... The mighty all blacks a force to be reckon with...they won in style.
Yeah Ireland choked again at World Cup I think the match against England before the rwc killed their confidence. Also we were worked out. I also think this is where the abs lost the rwc. I think they were expecting 2018 Ireland and threw everything at us then it was anticlimactic.

Would of loved to see that match the Irish vibe was amazing! The support throughout the haka was amazing! We got beaten! But sure! New Zealand fair play to ye

Saula Taani - You're dead right. I thought it was disrespectful at the time. Anway... The Paddys got well and truly stuffed, so all good in the end :-))... Watching the Current All Blacks is reminiscent of watching Brazil in the 1970 World Cup Finals in mexico. They are in a class of their own.
The fans turned up but sadly the player’s didn’t . The all blacks are the most humble n down to earth team . They care a lot about everyone n every thing around .
Even though Ireland are a good side, there was no way this Irish team deserved no 1 ranking in the world. The only reason they beat New Zealand twice previously is because Ireland were playing a tired and weary New Zealand team coming to the last games of their season, and Ireland were fresh off the blocks, and they treated these test (challenge) games like a world cup game. But as always when the world cup comes then you generally know how good or bad a team are, as every big team raises the bar. And the media, as always exaggerating, and building them up as if they were the invincibles.

Irish, Living in NZ its actually hard to pick who I want to win, ABs fans are just as obnoxious as the english, away from rugby talk they're a pretty good bunch tho
As a South Pacific Islander, I don't mind at all if the fans of the opposing teams sing their traditional songs during the performance of our Haka (NZ), Siva Tau (Samoa), Sipi Tau (Tonga), or Cibi (Fiji). Traditionally, we don't expect our opponents to just stand there in silence, while we're basically telling them we're going to destroy/kill you. In ancient past, a war challenge always expect a response from the opposing side.
@@fgggfffg7645 can't play rugby... We beat the Allblacks countless times before, we've always got to the quater finals unlike England. Calling us pub singers? That's the English. Get a life.
Since the Haka is intimidation, the Irish fans had perfectly the right to respond to them with chants. It's like saying "we don't give a f... we're ready for combat"
I'd like to see more countries challenge the haka instead of just having to stand there and take it. About time others stood up to that psychological advantage.
Come on there is no psychological advantage, no voodoo magic going on. Samoa, Tonga and fiji all do their haka before a game and no ones blowing about them psyching people out.
maorigirl rubbish. What about the throat slitting stuff? It’s intimidation pure and simple but allowed because NZ are good box office and showbiz is the name of the money game. It reminds you of the village people tbh.
Well done. You are the only person to mention the word CULTURE. That's why the AB's perform their range of Hakas. Creating an awarenes of their unique Maori culture and heritage. As another commenter states the warrior cultures of the Maori and the Celts should be respected here.
The Fields of Athenry was not aimed at the All Blacks at all and was certainly not meant to disrespect the Haka. It was purely as a show of support to the Irish team and to try and lift them in such a huge game. In a normal Ire-NZ test match, Irish fans wouldn't dream of singing during the Haka

To the people giving out about the irish singing the fields of athenry during the haka, the fields of athenry is just as important to us as the haka is to the maoris. The song is about the attempted genocide on the irish people by the english where over a quarter of our population either emmigrated or were killed by the english over a period of just 4 years. We have just as much a right to sing it as the maoris do to perform their haka
Ummm kinda disagree with you about Irish has the right to sing while all black do there haka ! Well MATE!!!

That haka is not just to show their pride in who they are and WHO they represent, but it also is a symbolism of honouring/respecting those standing in front of them. Good stuff that Ireland received it well, shame about the fans who thought it was nothing but a singing challenge
One of the best Haka's I've ever seen
Proud to be Irish 🇮🇪

Don’t disrespect the Haka.
Firstly it’s a show of respect and a challenge.
Secondly you just fire up the all blacks to go even harder against you.
The score line will reflect this.
Nothing wrong in the crowd singing. Haka is not a national anthem...
Ayush Chaurasia no one said anything was wrong with it. My point is if you don’t want to lose to the all blacks don’t provoke them more by doing so.

Brings a tear to my eye
Even though Ireland are a good side, there was no way this Irish team deserved no 1 ranking in the world. The only reason they beat New Zealand twice previously is because Ireland were playing a tired and weary New Zealand team coming to the last games of their season, and Ireland were fresh off the blocks, and they treated these test (challenge) games like a world cup game. But as always when the world cup comes then you generally know how good or bad a team are, as every big team raises the bar. And the media, as always exaggerating, and building them up as if they were the invincibles.

Michael all black fans have the right to be obnoxious since their team barely loses
This was probably the highlight of the day for us
I'm not Irish nor Kiwi, but this was amazing! Pure chills
What an atmosphere to experience!
As a homosexual, white, left winged vegan, I agree.
That's the way to greet the battlefield!
TJ PERENARA BRILLIANT INCREDIBLE BRILLIANT HAKA LEDDER

Since the Haka is intimidation, the Irish fans had perfectly the right to respond to them with chants. It's like saying "we don't give a f... we're ready for combat"
Can't wait for AB's to lose. Hopefully within the next two games. Then haka would have been useless.
@@maorigirl9019 Yes there is, and no they don't.

Here, here.
Ummm kinda disagree with you about Irish has the right to sing while all black do there haka !
Well MATE!!! You all don't have the right to be loud cause the haka is one of the most important thing for our people and country. You need to understand that it's part of our culture and others need to respect Haka and stay quite . We kiwis don't distrub any of your cultural things. If Irish had a Haka , we show respect towards your Haka . No one else would sing or talk while you guys do something that means to your culture.
So yeah....
