Thank you Dennis. Actually, I never knew the make of this loom. It was given to me, and I just passed it along to a friend after purchasing a Macomber.
Jennifer Moore's book and 2 DVD's are a marvelous way to learn double-weave including pick -up. She does teach to pick up light, weave first treadle of dark, pick up dark, weave first treadle of light, pick up light, weave second treadle of dark, pick up dark, weave second treadle of light. That's four times you pick up the pattern. Notice that Jenny picks up and then weaves two weft shots (alternating the sheds) and then does the reverse pick up, weaving the two weft shots. Half the pick ups. I've done it both ways and cannot tell the difference in the web. I'm going with Jenny! My loom (Harrisville 8) does NOT give a usable shed so I have to use a shed stick. (*%#**)
Can you tell me where I can find these DVD, I did'nt find on the web. Are there sold with the book ? Perhaps my english is not very good I'm french. Thanks for your response.
Thanks for showing this! In my hand loom weaving class at RISD, we're working with a two color warp, and figuring out how to do the double weave pickup properly with it is driving me insane.... This didn't help with my problem, but it did give me hope that with a more sane and reasonable simpler setup with just one warp color, beautiful things are possible with just the two weft colors. THANK YOU for restoring hope.
+Henna By Heather Heather, It takes a bit to wrap your head around the math on Double Weave Pick up (I'm doing Triple weave pick-up myself right now...ouch). I have friends that are doing amazing things with stripes and blocks with double weave too. I was there once, you'll get it. Congrats on being at RISD by the way, I was there for HGA's Convergence Conference last summer!
Thanx, I do double weave pickup. My wrap set is dense and I'm unable to see a cartoon thru the warp. I spend a lot of time counting squares on my graft paper. Would you share the warp set for each layer ????? I would like to try to see one of my cartoon designs thru the warp. You do inspiring work. Thanx Gary

Hi Gina, OI actually just print it out on normal copy paper and tape my cartoon together. If I'm worried about having to re-do it I'll make a giant copy of it at Staples.

Gary, the fiber I'm using for both warp and weft is a hand dyed rayon. I'm honestly not sure the size.
