The problem with India is, India wants to produce everything, from robots to drones yo fighter jets to ships, submarines, to guns and missiles, with a shoe string budget. In the end none of the project gets enough funding and everyone of them gets delayed. Then whats the point????? If you want to compete with China then atleast have half the budget of China. China is spending $700+ billions and India wants to achieve the same in $70 billion in which $40-50 billion goes in salary and pension!!!!!
I think either they are fooling themselves or fooling us by advertising that India is working on everything, but in reality everyone knows that not even a single project is meeting its timeline.

Other than delays and project cancellations, we hardly heard anything else in 10 years. Mmrca p75i and p76, 3rd aircraft carrier, delay AMCA tejas mk2 tanks. Decreased R&d budget and decreased defence acquisitions only for 10 years.

You are comparing different helicopters. Rudra is nothing but armed Dhruv. Prachand is created for high altitude which is very specific requirement for our forces and it is lightly armed. US and russian helicopters are more powerful. Each has different roles

IAF was impressed with most maneuver jet in the competition as mig 35 was first medium jet in the world with 3d thrust vectoring. It was rejected in final round to rafale and eurofighter as Zhuk AESA radar of mig 35 has only 170km range when rafale had 200km range😁😁

One more reason was the SPV model, no any private company showed interest in it. But it had got CCS approval so, you can see it by decade end 😊.
