Thank you so much for this great video Tracey!! I found it really useful and very easy to follow. Your teaching style is excellent and I love your Skillshare classes!!
You are so very welcome! I'm so happy you found it helpful. Thank you so much for watching (here and on Skillshare!) and taking the time to comment. I truly appreciate the compliment on my teaching style!
Hi everyone! Thanks so much for watching. Just a quick note for the iPad users. When using the Contour Tool as part of this lesson, you won't see, "Bake Appearance" as an option. Instead select Convert to Curves (the triangle with the three nodes on each corner) as it does the same thing. I have been waiting this update to the Stroke Studio for a while as it always took a lot of work to try to get a balanced dash pattern on a stroke. So this is a small but impactful update! Hope you enjoy learning how to create a quick and easy stamp frame. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
I'm so happy to hear you found this helpful! Thank you for taking the time to comment, and for watching! Enjoy learning Affinity Designer, and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about anything!
Ooh! I made my stamp in Procreate about two weeks ago, but definitely prefer one made in vector! Thanks, I hope I can figure it out on the AD ipad version. I miss your skillshare classes, Tracey… waiting for the next one to pop up.
Thank you for the explanation of the dash pattern spacing….I’ve never been quite sure how to make the adjustments to the 1s and 0s to achieve the effects I am looking for and this was helpful. Do you have any other videos that explain these 1s and 0s in more detail? And what the “phase” option does? Thanks again!
Thank you for watching Lynn! I was going to include an explanation in this one but decided to break it out separately, as it’s a bit more involved, so that’s coming up 🙂 Thank you again!
I like this design idea. I tried to mimic it but maintain access to the stroke studio by lining them up in a similar fashion and setting the "dots" layer blend mode to "erase." I put those in a group and then I can apply a shadow effect to the group and it follows the dot contours. Thoughts?
Hi George! There's usually more than one way to get to the result you're looking for so I think it's great that you tried a different approach! I think it all comes down to what you want your end result to look like, and whether you need to maintain the original shape. In my case, I wasn't worried about approaching it destructively (as the tutorial it was about the balanced dash pattern rather than the overall design :)) but if you want to maintain the ability to edit your shape your approach is great! Thank you for sharing!
@@Tracey-CreatorCollage Thanks for the reply. It seems that often there are many different ways to achieve a desired result with AD, and as a beginner the challenge is learning WHY to do things one way or the other. Something I've been trying to do is copy designs I see as many ways as I can think of just to get familiar with every tool in the software.

Thanks for watching! The iPad version is just as simple as this, as the Stroke Studio is set up the same way. No worries! :)
