Okay now I'm straight-up curious on who the production company was that threatened him. I have doubts that would be aka cartoon given that Danny runs the place and him and Tony are cool according to Tony, so that would either leave BLT Productions or ocean group who's cast of voice performers are essentially identical. If it's any of those two then I might be hesitant in supporting them and I might even ask Matt Hill and Sam Vincent some questions regarding what they may know on this matter if anything. My tip that it's either BLT or ocean is how he says it was people he knew his whole life. If I have to guess another companies name maybe Cartoon Network as well. If you have any leads on this please let me know if possible.
Yea it’s a shitty situation for sure. I have no knowledge of who it is, I know Tony is pretty happy now so I’m glad he’s in a good spot in life. Hope you’ll check out our other content. We’ve had almost every cast and crew (almost) from AKA and the cast.
Wow! So, thats why we don't hear much from Tony Sampson since the Ed Edd n Eddy Ended so they Blacklisted him from Hollywood :( I wish he could've stayed on the air for other shows. Or even do Movie acting.
What's sad and a testament to why this shit only gets worse and never changes is that (assuming everything Sampson says is true), everyone else did indeed accept it and just took it, he was the only one that did what should be expected of people and bailed? I get fearing losing your job, your career, your livelihood- it's not an easy choice, but something's gotta be done, fuck sticking around with that kind of employer if you're only ever going to get shafted anyway. None of this is a surprise at all and a story i've heard all too often, now.
I wonder if he'd ever get back into it, nothing MAJOR but the industry is much better now. You got all the popular actors that could/probably would support him. Maybe even make a union if they wanted too.
I know i've commented in here before but I do wonder if he's ever considered returning to voice acting in some manner since then. Or at least thought of appearing at conventions.

Yea it can’t be a very shitty business for sure. I’m just glad he is happy now.
Thank you for watching! I hope you are enjoying the content we are putting up
You know I actually suspicion that company particularly as well. I do have a comment in the comments section here where I talked about it before a year or 2 ago. And if it is truly that company I'm curious of what Terry Klassen( Voice director of Ed Edd n Eddy and even the voice of Eddy's older brother) has to stay for himself on the matter. Might be disappointed depending on what he did or didn't do to help.
He’s back
Yep!
Thats crazy someone give this man tony a career go in anime english dubs eddys voice was good shit n hilarious .eddys voice is was n felt alive n fulla energy n raw
I'm reminded of this due to the current situation with John DiMaggio and the Futurama return
I wish these networks would get out of their own way sometimes and pay the writers, artists and voice actors what they have earned and what they deserve. If you haven’t yet, please check us out on the audio side. It’s for the fan of this medium on the go/at work.

@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast Welp, now this has become relevant again due to Mob Psycho 100
I imagine he’s talking about Cartoon Network, or at least a subsidiary of them. Their parent company is Warner Bros who do shady shit. This sounds very on brand for them.
It's baffling that after 8 years voicing a character as iconic as Eddy he's not getting paid thousands of dollars in jawbreakers per episode.
Tbh I fully respect his decision if a person is working really hard and they are basically the backbone of your company for God's sake give them a raise.
Me as well! I hope you’ll check out some more of our stuff!
How did cartoon networks budget not high enough to pay the voice actors a little more. This guy is one of the 3 main voices one of cartoon networks BEST! shows. Good for Tony but that sucks. I hate that happened to him.
Yea it’s a shitty a situation for sure. I’m glad he’s doing better now tho.
It wasn't CN though. It was probably the production company that was cheap and didn't want t give their voice actors a raise.
Can’t wait
It’s a good one
HOLY SHIT-
YES
LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!
:D
We go super deep into life and everything in between
I always knew that Danny had nothing to do with it, and I’m glad he didn’t because I would be so hurt knowing that they are not all goods anymore :( but they are ok and that’s amazing ✨
Nah wasn’t Danny
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast and I’m glad it wasn’t :3
Thank God for that, Danny’s freaking awesome and I’d hate to have that respect tainted by something like that.
Okay, I'm excited for this.
But can I get a solo Samuel Vincent interview? And can I join? Lol
Sam doesn’t like to do solo interviews and I don’t ever have other people on.
If I was a voice actor on Ed, Edd n Eddy and I heard about this, I'd tell the company to cut my salary in half and give one half to Tony's.
fkn love tony man
Tony Sampson is the best eddy
Glad he has integrity. I always thought he earned the retirement for being an excellent actor.
Yea man it’s a little bit of a bummer when folks try to blacklist you for just wanting a raise. I’m glad he found happiness tho. By all accounts, he’s doing way better. Thanks for spending a little time on my channel, I hope you’ll continue to check us out each week.
Can't wait 😁😁😁😆
Hope you enjoyed the teaser
And now we know why Eddy resorts to scamming the neighborhood kids.
How did you like the episode I did with Tony? I hope you’ll continue to check out the content we put out. We’ve got a lot of great Ed boys content up and as well as some other really great series we cover. Thanks for spending a little time on our channel today.
Dude your channel is so awesome! I’m looking forward to this interview!
Thank you, tell all your friends!
Oh I wanna see this!
Btw. Tony dead ass looks like Ned Luke (Michael De Santa). Just a comparison because of the beard
It was a great chat, we went super deep on life and all the crazy shit in between
They threatened to blacklist him just for asking for a raise? That is inexcusable!
Yea man it sucks. Tony will tell yah he’s in a better place now, so for what it’s worth, at least he is doing better
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast Good for him.
Wow! So, thats why we don't hear much from Tony Sampson since the Ed Edd n Eddy Ended so they Blacklisted him from Hollywood :( I wish he could've stayed on the air for other shows. Or even do Movie acting.
He didn’t want to be in the Industry anymore, interview will explain it all
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast Oh wow! Maybe thats why he's listed on Wikipedia as being an Oiler worker! :)
It is a sad trope that is ever to prevalent
That was fucked up Tony is an awesome dude he made me laugh for years
Yea it is a shitty thing. I’m glad he’s doing better
I wonder if he'd ever get back into it, nothing MAJOR but the industry is much better now. You got all the popular actors that could/probably would support him. Maybe even make a union if they wanted too.
Answers it during the podcast
I've talked to Tony, he never mentioned why properly on why he quit the show, but this makes sense, just feel bad for the guy dude
It for sure sucks! However he has said that he’s in a way better place now than he was then.
Holy crap hearing Tony swear just enhanced my childhood 0-0
Oh it gets better 😀
If only he did it in Eddy's voice lol
This is genuinely heartbreaking to hear
It is, but Tony will tell you he is doing a lot better now that he ever was back then
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast thats nice, but it sucks someone who made my childhood happier got screwed over
That’s hella messed up to threaten to blacklist someone just because they asked for a raise.
Yea man it’s a fucked up system, Erin talked about it during her episode.
I know i've commented in here before but I do wonder if he's ever considered returning to voice acting in some manner since then. Or at least thought of appearing at conventions.
Tony actually looks a bit like Danny now.
Nice
Wow…those guys were jerks. You did the right thing, Tony.
Absolutely and from talking with him…he seems a lot happier now than he was ever, back then.
Glad to know what exactly happened to Tony. And I’m very glad he left before it got ugly. Now that’s zero tolerance for BS. 😊
Couldn’t agree more! Have you gotten a chance to see the ep I did with all three of the Ed boys or any of the other amazing folks from AKA?
I thought it was the Women's March.
If all of you remember the episode Pain in the Ed.
Hope you enjoyed the episode with Tony
I dont blame Tony at all for quiting as alot of VAs nowadays were getting mistreated (especially in the anime dubbing scene)
He really made it clear without having to be clear.
Tell tony to start a TH-cam channel!
Watch the episode when it drops in about 5 hours…you’ll understand that he is doing better now than he ever was back then
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast waiting on it for sure!
fuck the industry. you're a hero tony
I’m sure the entire industry isn’t bad. Like most people, out of 10 there’s at least 1-2 douchebags in the room
You know, not that I don’t applaud Tony for standing up for himself, but I wish he’d stay an actor because who knows what he could bring to shows like MLP FIM and Dinotrux.
Sometimes folks fall out of love with what they are doing. I’ve been jaded before, so I can understand where he’s coming from
Any chance of interviewing Patric Caird, composer of Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy?
Funny you ask! He will be the last episode of this month. Will be chatting with him next Thursday
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast Incredible. Thank you for what you do. Patric Caird made that show something from another dimension.
Sounds similar to what happened with the Voice Actor for Niko Bellic at Rockstar being screwed over.
It’s sad that it’s not an isolated story throughout animation. I hope you enjoyed the chat we had and I hope you’ll continue to check out our content
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast will do 🫡
Oof. As someone looking to break into the VA industry, I'm worried to hear what things Tony had gone through. Hopefully it's not a blanket experience.
There’s good folks and bad folks everywhere
it's really sad to have such a great talent quit, but unless more people begin to stand up for themselves the industry will keep on getting away with treating even the best actors like absolute shit. their fucking loss. can't wait to see the full podcast!
We go deep into life and the crazy side of ot
I wish I can give Tony a hug, I feel so bad for him…
He’s doing great
If things were different, I would make sure Tony got the raises he asked for. Because he's one of my childhood heroes, and that's what he deserved.
I’m sure some of the folks wish they could redo it for sure
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast I just hope that he's happier now, because that's all I want from him. When someone helps to shape your childhood the way this man did for mine, you just want the very best for them.
Says he’s doing better than he ever was while voice acting.
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast I'm glad that he's doing better.
Oh wow this is diffrent but similar to what i heard what happend
It’s a great chat I had with him
Eddy was my favourite out of the 3 Ed’s
Ed was always my guy
Hey I love the Simpsons t-shirt that you’re wearing that is freaking awesome I’m huge fan of the Simpsons that is a great shirt hay by the way have you ever seen the show Futurama and disenchantment before and the Simpsons movie at all I’ve been trying to find the exact Simpsons shirt you have on eBay that is a cool shirt where did you get it exactly dude that is awesome
I just had an animator on (haven’t released it yet) that worked on both The Simpson’s and King of the Hill. I’ll also have Eric Kaplan on, Futurama writer that did the amazing episode Jurassic Bark, Parasites lost and a slew of other amazing Futurama eps. Got the Simpsons shirt at Kohl’s.

so which production company handles their salary? Was it AKA? Cartoon Network? or the talent agency for voice actors?
EDIT!: Not sure if this will be tackled in the full podcast, so I'm hoping
Did this happen while EEnE was just about the finish running its course (pre-Big Picture Show) or was it after? It'll be really sad if it happened before since that is like betrayal from the people you've been with for a long time.
This clip is the only time it’s mentioned
Pretty sure it end of season 5 - the production of season 6
