  • In today's video we explain how to get to Dracula’s Castle (Bran) from Brasov without having to join a group tour. You’ll not only get to experience transportation like a local but you’ll also save a bunch of cash in doing so. It sounds like a daunting task but taking a local bus is surprisingly easy and an extremely cost effective way to get around when in Romania.
    We also take you inside the castle and give you some insight on what to expect.
    We also get a little adrenaline rush on the nearby Alpin Coaster.

      Yes, you just need to catch the bus at the bus stop on the opposite side of the road from where you originally get dropped off when arriving. Thanks for watching! Enjoy, we had a blast!

      I was able to visit the castle by riding this bus! Just need to be aware of the schedules to avoid long waiting times. I would not say that I enjoyed this castle as much as I enjoyed the other places in Brașov like the old town, Poiana and the mountain villages. The price entrance fee is 60lei. Peleș castle in Sinaia which has cheaper entrance fee of 50lei, is a far more beautiful castle inside and out. Overall I think it's still a good visit to Bran Castle.
      Anyhow, I just wanted to update that the instructions here have been tested and proven to work! Thanks again for sharing!

      Glad you were able to follow our guide on catching the bus. You are right on about schedules. That's why we highly recommend catching the first bus of the day early in the morning both for an easy bus ride as well as a less crowded Castle Bran. I was there back in 2016 and I was literally the only person there, it was amazing. Nowadays it is not nearly as good of an experience due to all the crowds. I enjoy both Bran and Peles. The problem I have with Peles is that it's just as crowded and the fee to get in is variable. It costs a certain amount to see the 1st floor and an extra fee to explore the 2nd floor and then you have to pay to take pictures or any video....it ends up being pretty pricey if you want to get the full experience. But back in 2016 I had no issues and it was also practically empty....it's not the same nowadays....unfortunately. Thanks again for watching! @@thinkhumor5053

    HI! Can I ask from Bran Castle is there a bus to the Alpine coaster and from Alpine coaster can you catch a bus back to Brasov? Thanks in advance.

      @Kenshirokan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We were lucky in that Olena’s cousin happened to be in Romania on vacation in the same area as we were at the same time! Completely coincidental and not planned at all. So lucky for us they had a car and that’s how we got from Bran to the Alpine coaster. I’m not for certain but I don’t think there are any buses from Bran to that area. If you ask around in Bran there might be shared rides to that area since it is a popular attraction. Or a local might be willing to take you out there for a nominal fee. That’s probably your best bet. Hope you have a fun trip! Thanks for watching!

    Hello again! Can I ask if you don't want to go inside the castle. Are you able to just explore the grounds and take a picture of the castle from the outside? Thank you.

    • @Kenshirokan
      @Kenshirokan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you can explore the grounds without having to buy a ticket. The only spot they actually scan your ticket is inside the entrance of the actual castle. You feel like just checking out the grounds and taking pictures from the outside you’re pretty much good to go. Hope that helps!

    Dracula (Vlad Tepes) was in Wallachia not in Transylvania , Hungary . th-cam.com/video/MY82EpsvbQ8/w-d-xo.html

      That is true but he often ran away to Transylvania to hide and garnered much support from the people there because his reputation preceded him. He also spoke many languages which helped.

    Actually, Dracula is not based on Vlad the Impaler, there is no evidence that it is and there are no historical or factual similarities or anything at all.
    The only link to him and even Romania is that likely the name was borrowed from him. In some languages Vlad was called Dracula, meaning son of Draco - Draco means dragon in Latin and it's because his father was a member of the Order of the Dragon for a bit.
    The link to Vlad is basically an internet myth.
    Anyway, Vlad had a mistress in Brasov for like 20 years and i think 5 kids with her. Her house in Brasov is still standing and it's a bit bellow Poarta Schei.

      @Kenshirokan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, we know that Dracula isn’t really connected to this castle formally but it is touristically. That is the beauty of it all….lol. Thanks for watching!.

    • @realjx313
      @realjx313 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Kenshirokan No, you said that Vlad the Impaler inspired Dracula and that is 100% not true, there is no link between the 2.
      And yes the castle doesn't have anything to do with Vlad but Vlad has nothing to do with Dracula, just like Biden has nothing to do with Dracula.

      @@Kenshirokan George Washington is not MIckey Miuse, Sun Tzu is not Bambi.
      Dracula is a novel , it's 100% fiction and has absolutely nothing to do with Romanian culture, mythology, history or anything at all. It's just some random Irish dude that has never been to Romania, placing the action of a story that is 100% fiction, in Romania. There is absolutely no inspiration from the Romanian anything.
      Vlad Tepes was a king that fought the Ottoman Empire a bunch of times and is a national hero. And he used a strategy to shock his enemies (he knew the Turks very well as he grew up in Constantinopole where he was sent by his father as a hostage) and he was also very harsh with criminals., But there are ZERO links between him and Dracula.
      And stop being so American, when someone a million times better informed than you tells you that you are wrong, you insist. That's why you guys are world famous for being not so bright

      @@realjx313 You need to lighten up, if you watched the whole video I stated in the video that Dracula is not connected to this castle at all. If you have such strong feelings then maybe you should make a video to let people know the history.of Romania. Our intent is to help others visiting Romania see what we see. We are not really looking for a lecture.
