  • This video offerers some advice for choosing a great trumpet. This is going to be a very personal decision but there are some basic criteria that should always be considered. Sound, blow feel, evenness of response throughout its total register, articulation and intonation should all be fantastic. Playing the hone in the situation or group will tell you if the horn is truly a good horn for you or not.

BigDawg42069 The elite is a very fine horn to be sure. I think you’ll find it quite a loyal companion

Thanks for a great video! I just wanted to know if you could maybe do a video about different types of mouthpieces and what kind of cups/back bores are more suitable for different situations. Again, thanks for another great video!

Which brands are excellent for marching? And what mouthpiece can go with it?

Equinox Wolf Most brands are fine for marching band. I would use a less expencive instrument in marching band. It can become damaged and you will not be happy if it is an expensive horn. You should find a mouthpiece that works for you and the music you are playing.

What is the easiest horn to play, open blow fast valves ?

Paul Dance I think Edwards X 13 is a wonderful playing trumpet and plays as you describe. www.edwards-instruments.com/trumpets/x-13-bflat-trumpet/
It is difficult to recommend a trumpet as everybody is different and what they describe is easy to play may not be the next persons easy to play.
I also think the Stomvi S3 would fall into the same category. stomvi-usa.com/product/s3-bb-trumpet-2/
These would be my recommendations to start

+Vigor Silk Stomvi S3 is a good horn for this. Look for a used one. You should be able find one used at a good price. Best, Jon

Hi, I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I've been looking to get a new trumpet. I've been using a Bach Student trumpet, and I'm looking for a newer and intermediate level trumpet. I've been looking at a Yamaha. Could anyone recommend a trumpet for me?

There are many good horns I would look for a good used professional trumpet. Best, Jon

i bough a used King Legend, its a really good trumpet and if you buy it used its not too expensive, the valves are short so its actually easier to play than other trumpets (at least in my experience) good luck on your journey, though!
