      Mohammed El Massri Other than the entire right side of the mind having been obliterated by atrophy; so all creativity, tenderness, beauty, reason, joy, happiness, nobility, kindness is gone, hey, this is great stuff. Calm down; you too can do the important stuff, build a career before your heart attack comes, and well, "you can't take it with you" so, having NOT come off the wheel of reincarnation, you might want to avoid the white light when you die, because it is the birth canal....maybe being a confused ghost would be better, because there is no physical pain, only psychic pain...good job kids

    The basic assumption of spirituality and meditation is that the universal consciousness was present before any matter was manifested. The matter came into existence by the mere act of observation by that universal consciousness. Humans can be explained as universal consciousness trapped in the near field or localised collapsing of waves which is our body. The body appears to be different from others as the arrangement of matter and experiences are unique to each human. This can be termed as Ego. The moment, we transcend this Ego through meditation or any other practice, we are one with the universal consciousness, the one which has been present all along, the creator. This is Nirvana, the ultimate truth. The physicists are trying to prove this as an objective reality which is perhaps a loosing battle as the truth remains subjective and purely experiential in nature. Having said that, what the physicist have unraveled so far is of enormous value to a seeker of truth. Imagine that every time you open your eyes, you see the entire universe as one entity and not as disparate, local Newtonian phenomenon. You can actually believe and experience that we are not in the universe but we are the universe.

    Funny, as John Hagelin described the nature of science (early in the interview), I immediately thought of what I always considered to be the handicap of modern science, as directed by Galileo: "Measure what is measurable, and make measurable what is not so." Measurements, like objects themselves, are constructs of man's consciousness only... the harder we look - the less we will see. Namasté :)

    According to Hindu/vedic high philosophies- We (matter and consciousness) are manifestations of that transcendent one. We are infinite decimal part of that transcendent one. It also means that there is an unchanged transcendent one. It is different from pantheism and monotheism.

    John Hagelin PHD is the real deal cool guy. Thanks for putting this on. I have a BA on Asian Studies. My major was Indian and Chinese Mysticism. I am sure you both know more about the Vedas then I do and I have several lives on India. I have to hit the Vedic books some more. As far as exploring this world I do it out of body. No low focus instrument body in the way. Only as good as the instruments. OK most of what people explore now is multiple dimensional none physical. OK since I have run into more shares of supposed Aliens. I have decided to try looking at the world of Time and supposed space like their mass consciousness does. I have at times only looked at only alive and kept lower frequency things like walls in a see through form only using it as function. So I don't walk into walls etc. But it leads a person to think differently I have been trying more to stop imaging walls buildings and veils of separations in time from past to multiple futures. Chasing virtual realities. I am a spiritualist so also a Clair medium so I can use more of what is going on then other people. I try more each day. Thanks some day I will reach the best of my collected bubble overlapping universes. Namaste.

    As usual a lovely and highly inspiring talk.Would that this could be beamed to the entire planet.One thing that concerned me was Hagelin's warning about our ability to transcend being potentially genetically engineered out of us.What a horrific thought. But this made me think about Ramana Maharishi's reminder :"You are not the body" Surely this transcends the body's DNA too? In which case perhaps John is still not looking deep enough.As regards those who question whether Hagelin's ideas are generally accepted among scientists I don't think thats what needs concern us. What should concern us is how the most on earth can live at their highest potential and be happy and fulfilled and how we should all not rest until no-one goes to bed cold or hungry or in fear. I think these are ideals John clearly aspires to. As does Rick.

    Here's how it works; the tree in the forest falls; and makes a sound and is always seeable because, the universal mind is actually the only observer. So all that exist never ceases to exist; because the universal mind is always observing it. As long as it is being observed; its image can not, not be, and it is never not being observed by the universal mind. The tree's and rivers don't exist because we see them; they exist because the higher mind continues to observe them. However, a tree can be cut down and its existence for man will cease to be; but its essence does remain and it still exist in the quantum way.

      Oh. What was it that the peer review paper you published said? Who were the scientists that worked to disprove your hypothesis until it was shown to comply with observation? Where can I find this paper and the math that goes along with it? Of course you wouldn't be so bold as to claim knowledge without having evidence to back it up - how silly that would make you. Funny how this poor excuse for a PhD is babbling off his poop science ...and you just eat it on up.

  • @bokie51

    Speaking as someone who has actually experienced first hand; meditation and self hypnoses make all the difference. But, to try to understand how it works; is pretty much impossible. That's one of the first things I tell anyone; don't start trying to understand it or question it, you'll only go nuts. Even when you know it, you only know your idea of it. You understand it; but your not sure what it is that you understand, It's so simple and yet to try to understand it, its like rocket science very complex with many layers of Deeping complexities. All, I know is that TM is very real and so are its powers.

    The summary of Robert Lanza's Biocentrism theory is rather inadequate, which is a shame, because it is very relevant to this discussion. Biocentrism states that the conditions for life in this universe are exactly right for life, simply because Life/consciousness creates reality, so the conditions cannot be otherwise.

  • @graceserenachristie2914

    What about dot Theory? Without the lines between dots. Time goes in all directions. Space is overlapped. All you need is how to get to time and space where your evidence is then trace it back to caused staged special circumstances. I had another life my job was to make friends with particals and get them to do what I visualized. I had a sign over my desk. " Never make the particles angry ". I remembered some of my other lives with TM. All fields are form systems formed by humans. Large tall Grays say that humans still believe in walls at this time period.

    So is it a stretch to claim that the molecule finds its 'purpose' when placed within the broader context of the tree and the macroscopic world? The isolated molecule has no 'reason' to absorb the photon for transformation into consumable energy. When placed in a broader context however, the interactions and communications with other molecules define the role of the individual molecule. Where does this molecule go when the tree dies? Does it collapse back to wave form in search of another purpose?

  • @BMerker
    @BMerker 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is astounding that someone active in theoretical physics would claim that theoretical physicists generally would "say most undoubtedly yes" to the proposition that there is a "unified field of intelligence at the basis of all forms and phenomena in the universe, at the basis of the four forces of nature, and all the particles on which they act." If you remove "of intelligence" from "unified field" in that quote (which occurs at roughly 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the interview) I have no doubt that he would get pretty good agreement, but have equally little doubt that that would not be the case with "unified field of intelligence." In that statement Hagelin is slipping his own construct of a unified field of intelligence into the general physics concept of unified field, and that does little credit to his trustworthiness as a reporter on and popularizer of difficult ideas.

    • @aarthoor
      @aarthoor 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      But John Hagelin isn't active in theoretical physics. He used to be but swapped it for this sort of unproven mysticism. The idea of an intelligence behind the universe smacks of god to me, it doesn't explain anything either, it just introduces a high level of complexity where physicists are trying to simplify things. None of this stuff is mainstream, it's way out on the fringe as should be made clear.

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Researchers who don't have a reputation of being mystics have noted that the way the universe evolves is similar to the way that large scale biological networks like brains evolve. Tononi's _phi_ value can, in principle, be applied to any collection of interacting parts. How can you possibly claim that the universe isn't "conscious" in some sense, even if its not remotely like what humans have?

    • @aarthoor
      @aarthoor 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you think Tononi is mainstream? I cannot see in what way the universe could be conscious never mind how it isn't like our consciousness but that isn't even what is being discussed in the video, John Hagelin is talking about consciousness being the unified field and that we can experience it as it's part of us. It can't be both a different sort of consciousness and be part of us now can it?
      And JH claims all sorts of highly unlikely effects that the actual unification of cosmic and personal consciousness would allow, like levitation and world peace and things like that. How's all the sidhi's coming along, any actual evidence yet?

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      aarthoor The way the brain works during pure consciousness works quite well as a simulation of John's description of the behavior of a quantum unified field. Not surprising, as John used the human-derived description to guide his mathematical tweaks of Flipped SU(5) that became the "Revised Flipped SU(5)" theory that Ellis, Hagelin and Nanapolous wrote so many theoretical papers about.

    • @aarthoor
      @aarthoor 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pure consciousness? Isn't that just the consciousness we have but without any thoughts disturbing it? It might be similar to John's description of a unified field but it sounds like a very poor analogy to ultimate reality to me. The latest theories of everything involve multi-dimensional membranes and quantum superposition, they aren't unified but a collection of ideas that work for the bit they are explaining. No simple equations here. The idea that this is a mirror for something happening in the brain sounds like a very hopeful new age fantasy. It might sell a few books and courses but it doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

  • @gerardo2360

    The 'kutastha Chaitanya (rock like consciousness) refers to the immanent (formless) reflection of God the absolute IN creation. The silence, is the transcendental absolute, the dynamism MMY talks about is the immanent reflection of that transcendental IN creation, much like a crystal ball when suffused with light will glow, the purer the 'crystal' the clearer the reflection of that transcendental absolute. Brahma Siddhi or the highest level of awareness of which is commonly known as God. If you apply the idea in locality, it takes the form of a Resource Based Economic Model. The state of Brahma Sidhhi understands that the universe in all its splendor, has graciously provided all resources for everyone to richly enjoy.The ultimately limiting system of labor for income is out of sync with the updated ultimate awareness of pure consciousness; of the unity and interconnectedness of all things.

  • @aarthoor
    @aarthoor 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Strange how you never come across any of this in mainstream, non-spiritually based, physics books or lectures. In fact, you never come across unified field theories anymore, the clostest anyone has got is "M" theory which is a mish-mash of different theories to describe different things.

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What DO you come across? Are you saying that most physicists have given up on the idea of embedding all known physical laws within a single theory?

    • @aarthoor
      @aarthoor 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Einstein didn't manage it and no one else has seen how it might be possible, but the main point here is that no one thinks that consciousness is going to fit the bill as the UF at all. No one except meditation sellers that is.

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      aarthoor Tononi's phi value gives us a way to assess the degree of consciousness of any system. Physicists may not be aware of that perspective on consciousness, but once they understand it, it should be an acceptable thing to work with. It might even give an objective way of discussing how complicated a system need be to collapse the wave function in an absolute sense.

    I call it the "Field of intention" or infinite possibilities for the all that is in the all. Nothing is nothing in the field; it's basically full of intentions or possibilities. That's on the unseen level; for the purpose of the universal mind to create within our minds, all the possibilities for what's in his infinite field of intentions or possibilities. The thought to build a home that looks like; ones mind see's it looking; is taking the minds field which is thought, and making thought our physical reality. So the unseen has its field which is still unseen; and the seen has its field "thought" where the unseen becomes the seen or physical. The observer and the observed are three, the unseen observes the seen, and the seen observes the itself doing.

    I have a better idea... Actually the evidence suggests that consciousness is a separate dimension from the one our "physical" world inhabits. The double slit experiment also suggests this. There is no reason why consciousness needs to be the unified field of "this" dimension. It seems to be an independent realm where everything is everywhere at once. Consciousness steams into and through us and this dimension and that energy streaming into us is what we perceive as the passing of time. If consciousness was the unified field then the wave would not need the observer to collapse, it would be its own observer.
    There is a force that is far bigger than anything big bang can account for, possibly gravity. It is also a wave, as suggested in Infinite Wave Theory, with a wave length in the neighborhood of 50 trillion light years, or less. As stated, the wave is the dark energy and it's particle property is the dark matter. CMB is the temperature of this wave and how it returns the energy that is captured by black holes. Look at this image below and it will begin to dawn on you:) There was no big bang, that is a silly concept :) I will be happy to discuss it and why. So the theory is, we could use magnetism to escape or block this dimension that is defined by gravity and find ourselves in the consciousness dimension alone. That would make travel interesting.

    What I am saying is that nothing exist for the purpose of us seeing it; everything exist for the universal mind to observe. We use the tree's and the wood they provide to create things that we; hold the power of existence of. Our homes, chairs, anything made of wood, same is true with steel, cooper, titanium any of our "natural" resources, they are useless until we take the whole and change its chemical structural isness that it is in it's most natural state, to being more useful to us as beings.

      Roberto Estrada It has also been noted by many here that Nonduality speakers tend to assume their level of attainment is final. They may be wrong.

      Roberto Estrada You are neither your mind nor body. There is no place for ego. Your true self is consciousness. It is the basis for re-incarnation. You are conscious being having human experience not the other way round.

    I can make a video (as a theoretical physicist), and claim that our entire universe is only an electron in an atom of a sugar molecule in a jelly donut (three's no way to prove this), but that doesn't make it True.

    What a load of cobblers! Hagelin now thinks himself as a new Deepak Choprah, no longer a serious scientist but a New Age woo woo propagandist.

      It's not a load of cobblers though is it mate. Anybody who tries to tie the science of consciousness in to mainstream science immediately gets rubbished by people who have a vested interest in doing so. The study needs to be taken seriously if we're ever going to develop a proper understanding of existence. Obvious if you think about it.

      Sorry Pal, quantum physics is serious science. Einstein, Bohr, Planck, Hiesenberg, Schroedinger all agree that consciousness is a fundamental, maybe the fundamental element of our universe.

      ***** Qunatum physicists DID NOT discover consciousness. They just validated hindu/vedic high philosophies or laws of nature. Vedas is the origin of consciousness philosophy. It is the reason why all quantum physicists from Erwin Schrodinger to Albert Einstein wanted to be cremated like Hindus. Double slit quantum experiment validates Hindu/vedic philosophies (Dvaita/Sankhya/Advaita). Observed (matter) cannot be perceived without the observer (consciousness). In other words, we are conscious beings having human experience not the other way round. It is also the basis for karma and re-incarnation.
      Rig Veda -> Energy and matter are inter-convertible
      Advaita Philosophy by Adi-shankaracharya (2000 BC) - "All that u see does not exist in the current form without consciousness"
      Albert Einstein quote
      " When I read Baghavath Gita and reflect about how God created this universe, everything else seems superfluous (Un-necessary). I've made the vedas as the main source of information and guide for the purpose for the scientific investigations and formation of my theories"
