I can't wait to see the room finished because I know it's going to look fantastic. I love the rest of your house and I think you have a real flair for interior design. When a room is started you can't imagine how different it will look when all the layers are added. I think you probably can imagine what the finished room will look like.

Interesting that you found those Purnon wallpapers. As you mentioned, it's a chateau being restored that's quite beautiful. The papers are historic papers found during the complicated process of removing old layers of wallpaper down to the original papers when it was built. There are a few more that are quite beautiful as well. Anyway, Purnon also has a TH-cam channel, if you get curious.

Love the honesty in this one. We often aren't privy to the drama of reaching a final product. It's hard to imagine you struggling with choice when the rest of your home is so elegant and beautiful. I was with you when you departed from the red paint.. and I'm with you again on its return. Can't wait for the end result!

I move plants when I want to move them and I’ve never had an issue over 40 years of gardening, just plenty of water after the move and they are ok. I agree with you

Have a look at Little Greene paints as well. A lot of the chateau channels are using it now. They say it only needs 1 coat compared to Farrow and Ball which usually needs 2 +

Ups. you've done it again Ash ... ANOTHER "Ruby Red" room, what about grey, anthracite or blue-black for a change ? You remind me a bit of my mother, when she loves a colour that it is ... she goes all out ! And then 18months later she falls out of love with it and it must instantly go. So, I know this "Ruby phase", next came a dark "petrol" and I must say, I liked it 🙂 !!!
Your mum sounds fun. I’m not really a blue person, and again it’s paint, I will most likely change it!
Hydrangeas are extremely easy to propagate and grow quickly.... so many youtube tutorials.

I’m actually trying to propagate some now and they have roots! Sure it’s not the right time of year though 😂
Hi! I'm a gardener. Do your best with plants, and sometimes that means moving things and hoping for the best. Be careful not to overwater those hydrangeas. Maybe just daily at this point. Good luck!

Giving me all the inspo! We just did one of our rooms Templeton pink after a farrow and ball colour consultation and we’re obsessed, can’t wait to see how the rest turn out.

Woohoo, Purnon found these old papers in the chateau, had them photographed and replicated by Farrow and Ball in a few colour ways. Felicity used that particular paper in one of the guest suites at Purnon. Love love love the Purnon story, 2 Australians saving one of the most important chateaux in France.
I like the new positioning of the bay trees,it breaks up the eyeline view into the garden so you look at the plants on either side,plus you house has a bit more privacy from the doorway😊😊

Agree. The wallpaper Ash has chosen reminded immediately me of the re-edition of one of the wallpapers found at Purnon. Somehow green and pink works together. It's a very ancient Chinese combination.

Have been following Purnon since the beginning because they are Aussies. Was really glad when they could do the collaboration with F & B. Doing it Ourselves (Pethericks) also did research on their dining room textured wallpaper. Anna from How to Renovate a Chateau has designed some fantastic wallpapers. Maybe she’ll do a collaboration with a company as well. All worth a look.
Nicolas Fairford has a similar interior style to you, he’s one of my favourites to watch!

It’s only paint so paint and see love that philosophy! I like the Blue wallpaper with the white! I love big patterns with gaps otherwise my head gets dizzy looking at small repetitive patterns tightly spaced together. Will be nice to see your final finished room in another 3 years lol. 💜😊🌈🤭

Hi Ash! I watch There is a great designer, and her channel is "Rebecca Robeson." She has been around for at least a decade and her channel has evolved from designing entire hoimes for clients to now things like Christmas decorating and touring other people's work. Very different style from yours. You might say she's very American and more oriented toward "the new" as opposed to traditional and antique. However, he style is very elegant. I much prefer her older videos, though (at least three or four years old).
Hi ash, love your videos. When you asked who else we watch, I love the channel “how to renovate a chateau” Anna is so talented. I think you would like her style and colours. I also did the Rita Konigs create academy online course which was great! And Beata Herman the Swedish designer. You would love the books by Ben Pentreath and Gil Schafer. They both have an amazing style that I think you might like 👍

It seemed to me the Farrow and Ball paper was one from the Purnon series, which is one of the TH-cam series I watch, the renovation of the Chateau de Purnon. Tune in to see the room they decorated with it. I watch an eclectic mix of people renovating, gardening and otherwise decorating. My list includes The Chateau Diaries, Escape to Rural France, Nearby Veggies (house in Portugal), The Rectory and My Tiny Estate. I do admire your sensibility. You start doing things that I am skeptical about, and then they look great. For example I love the color of the kitchen, I would never have thought of doing that. It inspires me to be more daring. Plus you painted that trim in a white sweater and so far don't have a spot on you. Brilliant.

When you moved your shrubs you should have removed some foliage to compensate for the inevitable root damage. I would have also given the roots, should they have been exposed a good douse of root simulator.

Love all the colours but now you painted the panelling back to the original colour which I love, not so sure on the ceiling now, but your choice probably once it’s all,done will look absolutely stunning , Nicholas fairford is another guy he loves decorating etc he is sort of similar to you but I recommend you give him a watch 😊👍

It’s the same as the bathroom, kitchen is slightly more red, whereas this is closer to purple

the spare bedroom bed is far too big, go for a queen size and put it onto back panelled wall. Be nice if you swung the camera round so we could see every corner of room for inspiration. This is a massive throw back for me as my house was same layout/room sizes as it was 2 bed vic terrace. Just noticed your guttering appears to require attention looks like moss build up?
It's wrong to paint a curtainless room to then hang curtains and voila the colour changes !! At least drape something over a pole to get an idea of the light.
