The club is supported, among others, by the Ultras Rapid 1988, the largest and oldest ultra grouping in Austria. They are one of the few ultra groups in Europe that show a choreography every match and were voted the group with the best choreographies in Europe by the Torcida International Fans Organization (T.I.F.O.) in 2005. Ultras Rapid 1988 also maintain fan friendships with the ultra groups of FBC Unione Venice (Gate 22), 1. FC Nürnberg (Ultras Nürnberg 1994) and Panathinaikos Athens (Gate 13). Other important fan clubs include the Tornados Rapid, the Green Lions, the Old Guard and the Lords Rapid. The Lords Rapid supported the team at Gerhard-Hanappi Stadium from the east stand. However, since the completion of the Allianz Stadium, they have been part of the "Block West".

Since couple of years its forbidden but possible to do a pyro education. As far as i know the Rapid Ultras have some proffesional Pyrotechnicals and they are allowed(by the gouverment) to use pyro 3 times per game.
@@TheChecksn It was the same in Norway in general unntil 2019, when the football association decided to ban all use of pyro in the stands. Every legal show was without injuries and and other type of problem . People in the stands was well informed prior to the ignition of the pyro.

Rapid is the only Team in the World Who holds a championship for 2 countries. The final game was in Berlin, we were 3:0 behind and won 4:3

That club has some history, unfortunately some of it was disrupted by WW2.

the reason why they’re always clapping in the 75th minute is because in the 2nd worldwar the austrin and german liga were together and rapid wien played in the last match against schalke 04 and was behind 0:3, they turned the match in the last 15 minutes and won the german bundesliga. the fans celebrate the „rapid-viertelstunde“ every game

about the fans:
Ultras Rapid the leading fanclub at the „Block West“ (name of the stand)was established in 1988. The Ultras want everybody to sing and clap as loud as they can. They give everything for the team for 90 minutes. If you want to go there one day I suggest you to not take pictures and videos inside the block west and I‘d suggest you to take a seat on the top. But in the end a seat on the grandstand would be the best for you and every groundhopper.
Furthermore, Rapid has the best fans in Austria. We travel through the country which we enjoy a lot to every match for 90 minutes of football and are the most time always louder and better in supporting our team than the opponent.
The fans are in general pretty unpolitical. There are ofc some people right and left-wing, but on the whole politics doesnt play a big role here.
If you have any questions left you can ask me for sure. I‘ll try to answer them as good as I can. ;)

Rapid is just magic! I´m Rapid fan since the 70ies and the whole supporters scene developed.....I´m, astonished too! In the 70ies it was just a little fanatic crowd on Westtribüne. We had been young boys, and admired all the british clubs and italian ultras. Rapid is told to be "Workers" Club, whereas Austria Vienna were "academics". "Better people" , more educated. Since then the 1970ies Rapid fan scene really made many steps forward. It´s really hard to explain, but Rapid made so many wonders: beatin Lissabon, beating Nance, beating Dynamo Dresden (during communism) with many goals behind. These games were just magic. Rapid is famous they never give a shit if they are 3 goals behind. They go and they succed! Worldwide seen the importance of Rapid is small, but they never give up! "The Rapid ghost" ...Greetings from Vienna, thanks for living and loving our Club!
I honestly don't see any magic in Rapid or any other Austrian team any more. The last magic you could see was during their last international run where they made it to the UEFA cup winners finals which they lost against PSG in 1995/96. But as always, key players then signed with other clubs and the following years they were just mediocre at best. The fans are IMO the only factor that let it stand out from the rest of the Austrian league. Even though Rapid really struggles in the local championship year after year, they still attract way more viewers/fans than any other team in the league, even compared to Salzburg who won the last 11 championships straight. The league isn't about who's winning it but who's placing runner up and qualifies for international levels.
And the past few years even when Rapid made the qualification for some European cups they usually started ambitious just to get to a down phase both on national and international level soon after. While there are some players with technical "finesse", like a Demir was one, he's given away for peanuts. Sure, he still struggles now in Turkey with no play time at all, but this boy was considered a 2nd Messi by Barcelona fans and if they haven't had to juggle their finances he might be playing for them today. It's not like Rapid doesn't have young players coming in to the team, it's more like they get some players for bigger money that simply don't share the clubs values and therefore their ambition to perform well is rather ... manageable at best. I've heard plenty of statements that player X or Y was a simple flop and a waste of money. That now the coach rotates every 1 1/2 season on average is also a sign of instability in the club. Why was a young Deni Alar really good at Rapid, then even better at Graz and when he returned he wasn't playing at all? The same could be said for plenty other players. Today I can only name 2 or 3 players of the Rapid squad who actually show above-average engagement and heart in terms of the "Rapid mentality". The fighting spirit of this club used to be way way higher in the past than it is today.
Long story short, Rapid Wien today feeds itself to much from its past successes and struggles to actually focus on the current events. While the fans of the club are worth of an A-league team in most European leagues, the club itself is unfortunately not. Compared to the German league Rapid Wien would probably play today in the 3rd, at best in the 2nd league if so ever.

Im from Vienna and Rapid fan since 1995 (when we reached the European Cup finals, i was 10 at the time)
Ive been to hundreds of games (also several away games) mainly always in the fansektor (Block West)
Always get goosebumps and wet eyes when I see our fans giving a voigas. It makes me proud.
Our fanszene is well respected in Europe

It's just off the top of my head: Rapid is a workin class club in Vienna from the Western Part of Vienna (the Stadium is at the main road to the west you use to exit Vienna in Hütteldorf (district Penzing)). I gues there will be for sure some right wing supporters as well, but overall it's mixed I would assume. But it is the big workers club in Vienna. The other big club Austria Wien is situated in the South (Favoriten), in the most populous district of Vienna, and it's in theory the club of the upper class, but it's not that clearly cut nowadays since Favoriten is also very working class. I also want to point out two other intresting smaller clubs in Vienna:
First Vienna Football club (but only called Vienna). It was founded by British gardener in the late 19th century and it is the oldest club in Austria and Wiener Sportclub (Viennese Sportclub / WSC). These two clubs have bin in the highest league and won trophies and renown but nowadays they are in lower leagues. And their derby is called "Derby of love" because it's a very freindly atmosphere and their fanbases are left wing and progressive and especially Wiener Sportclub can be considered to be something like the St.Pauli (Club from Hamburg, Germany) of Vienna.

Then there are also other bigger clubs in Austria with local rivaleries:
Western Austria:
Wacker Innsbruck and Salzburg (2 Clubs: Austria Salzburg and now also Red Bull Salzurg):
All teams won national titles and them clashing is consider the West derbies of Austria. They also have decent fan bases and can produce some othmosphere.
Southern Austria:
Graz. Sturm Graz and the Grazer Athletic Club (GAK). Both Cubs won national titles in the late 20th century and early 2000s and Sturm had some success in the UEFA CHampions LEague for Austrian proportions.
Sturm arguably has after Rapid now the 2nd best athmosphere and 2nd most fan groups.
Here I'm not sure about the club'S origins but it could be similar to Rapid and Austria.
Linz:
Situated between Wien and Salzburg lies the 3rd biggest cit of Austria which is very INdustry heavy. One club in pericular is among the big clubs again now in Austria: LASK Linz and they have a local rival in Blau Weiß Linz (Blue White).
Here I'm not sure about the club'S origins but it could be similar to Rapid and Austria.

8:46 : Yes there is an ACAB banner (all cops are bast...) often also schown as 1312 (alphabet position). The pig banner shows "gruppo anit viola" which is a anti Austria Vienna massage I guess (their colors are violett and white). These are also the 2 teams with most national titles in Austria (30 league titles for Rapid and 22 for Austria if I'm not mistaken, but you can look it up). I myself am a regular Sturm Graz supporter, but not part of a fan group/ultra group.

That video gives the impression that there are like 30-50 thousand fans per game. The truth though is that Rapid on normal Bundesliga matches has like 13k visitors while the other clubs are more like 3-8k in that league. Only on international level or when Rapid plays for the championship the stadium is actually sold out, which is a bit of a shame. But given the quality of the league, especially with Salzburg dominating the league for 11 years straight, it's quite understandable.
That "Nur wir in Wien" translates to "Only us in Vienna" in regards to the local rival Austria Wien. That pig-flag was also a reference to a derby going on against Austria Wien where their supporters are often described as "Austrian pigs" for supporting the wrong club. It's like a love/hate relationship between those two clubs, even more so among the fans. If I'm not mistaken to this day its the 3rd most played derby in the history of football, with over 340 matches played, just topped by Scottish clubs Celtic vs. Rangers with over 434 matches and Brazilian clubs Corinthians vs. Palmeiras (Pualista Derby) with over 368 matches.

I guess there are some hooligans. There was an infamous derby a couple of years ago against Austria Wien (their main rival) where hooligans stormed the field. In general they are considered the largest club with the most fans. After them there are only a few clubs that can mobalize similar levels of support but not close. (Sturm Graz, Austria Wien, LASK Linz and maybe former succesfull bigger clubs such as Austria Salzburg, Grazer AK and Wacker Innsbruck; The current best team Red Bull Salzburg has also supporters trying to give good support, but it's a newer club with less tradition)

And actually all clubs are always looking forward to the games against rapid (fans, challenge ...). Austria Wien are Rapid's biggest rivals, closely followed by WAC, LASK and RB Salzburg. By the way: Rapid also has several fan friendships, including Panathinaikos
