My thoughts, which are from Europe, are that sports in the USA are entertainment and money. Europe is a club for life. passion
Still all about the money tho
@@crotchrottss No, not all about money. Otherwise what he said wouldn't be true.
Americans definitely don't chant like this.
i think we all know that by now :-D sports in america is more family orientated, calm and friendly. they dont have passion for sports the same way in europe where they go all in :-D
You mean USA...

That game was played the day after the 75th anniversary of the start of the Warsaw uprising.
Every year August 1 several cities, since it's now a national holiday, stop for one minute at 5 pm.
Air raid sirens sounds, cars blare their horns, emergency vehicles turn on their sirens, motorbikes rush their engines and flares are lit.
This was to commemorate the 75th anniversary, but as it was in a Champions League qualification arranged by the corrupt UEFA, The European Football Association Legia was fined, and that's what the second tifo with the pig is about.
UEFA mafia.
Warszawo walcz✊
As a Greek that lost over 500.000 women and children to WWII, i really sympathize for the Polish people.
@@baboulas_7Thanks Greeting from Poland , we lost 22% of our population in ww2 😢
Study, idiot! Good that you at least felt it. So for that: respect. Comment, don't rate little boy. You are slantering whole countries and on top of that mixing clubs together. You, Sir are brave.

There is no point in explaining to him, these Americans don't know anything about history, they are very bad.
USA football = One time event, family trip
Europe= Lifestyle, way of life
Usually if there a seperated section in the stadium its to stop fans jumping over and fighting rival fans. The fire you are seeing is burning flares.
The warsaw one the image of the solidier and kid is attached to the roof and raised up.
Yes its a huge flag covering the crowd its a protest about their fine received by UEFA the governing body of European football.
Oh wow! So those empty seats are for safety?! My gosh! Thanks for clarifying how they made those banners. I guess that's what those ropes were for. Poland is hardcore!
@@JJLAReacts How many fires are in your stands?
@@JJLAReacts it's illegal in Germany and restricted, but people get it anyways inside ;) passion
if violence erupts chairs are burned and thrown at other fans .. this mostly happens in balkans tho idk if there was a massive fire ever as it's all concrete except the plastic chairs@@cristianionica6853
You have to remember that football is not just a sport in Europe...it's a religion !
LEEDS UNITED, my team. The empty seats are to keep the opposing fans apart. A bit like no man's land.
Not all countries allow flares into football matches.
1st august 1944 In Poland started Warsaw Uprising The biggest Urban fight that it unfurtune involved every Warszawian Even a kids that match was the remebered as the respect to all who was fight en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Uprising
@@supreme3376Ever seen the official music video for "Uprising" by Sabaton... ? 😉
English fans always say "we don't have because it not allowed" Is it allowed anywhere ? Not Poland, Germany Italy...Definitely not in Croatia, but its not part of culture in England like it is for 50+yrs in Southern Europe - You also don't have ultras, that is OK but when they show videos "Europe v America" it doesn't include English fans as they are more like American style now. We watched football in England & enjoyed it, I don't say our fans are better, just different & Leeds one of best. Hope you are back in top division soon. Torcida1950 Hajduk Splita
No,we (the UK) get banned, whereas you don't.
At 8:00: Legia Warsaw ultras remembering the warsaw uprising in 1944. "The uprising was timed to coincide with the retreat of the German forces from Poland ahead of the Soviet advance. While approaching the eastern suburbs of the city, the Red Army halted combat operations, enabling the Germans to regroup and defeat the Polish resistance and to destroy the city in retaliation" (see wikipedia). Between 200.000 to 250.000 Poles - the majority of those were civilians - were killed by Germans during the uprising. Poland suffered the most under WWII. 16% of its Population was killed.
The sections of empty seating act as a barrier between opposing fans, to keep them out of missile range and to stop them coming together.
This is why American sport is nothing more than a giant ad break.
Like Brazilian or Argentinian football?
Seats are often left to segregate home and away supporters and not a sign they couldn't be sold
"Are their seats designated for fire?"😂 bruh, it is pure madness🎉
Difference between the United States and Europe:
In Europe, if you hear "bang", it's part of the show.
In the United States, if you hear "bang", you have to seek cover and run for your life.
Worst Take EVER for comment ever about the Anniversary tribute to their dead. The 1944 on the Red and White Poland flag is created by everyone in those individual seats holding up a specific card placed on that seat before the match - when held up on mass it shows the display - this technique is used across the world for different things and in no way is any of that for intimidation but rememberence
💯
I disagree, honestly i will even understand fans fighting each others because of game etc it is stupid yes but still they are fans etc.
But shit like that is pathetic because of two reason:
1)Sport isn't a place for politics
2)Crying about something that happened over 70 years ago (and yes crying we should remember be better and learn from it but this isn't remembering this is straight up crying) is pathetic (not to mention historical fact that entire thing was unnessecary and stupid, there is even saying Czechs have Prague, Poles have Honor)
Warsaw Poland with the kid and the gun against his head, it was symbolic to remember and grieve the thousands of children killed by Germany
Ultras, Our Way of Life. Would be a great follow up to this and would really explain a lot about how the game is viewed in Europe.
highly recommended
In Europe we have organized fangroops ( so callled ultras groops ), and within them bringing flags to the game is completely common. Flares also occur sometimes in games, but in some countries they are illegal ( but they sometimes still bring :)
thats why it is burning on the floor, so they cannot identify anyone holding the flare. otherwise they are fully masked, so they connot been identified
Blocks of empty seats are usually to keep opposing fans apart. Especially derby matches can sometimes spark violent interactions between opposing fan groups (throwing flares, fistfights, and anything in between really)
The Marseille fans are exchanging chants with the other end of the stadium, who are also Marseille Ultras. The empty seats are for security resons, so the fans from the other team cant attack them. Police usually surrounds them
Everybody love their teams but turkish fans show some mad love for their teams, its beautful how much football has grown in Turkey
Just because some clips dont show flares doesnt mean they dont use them all the time
Ireland has the kindest football fans in the world. Check them out on youtube. When a bunch of fans met Swedish fans on the street the Irish started singing "Go home, go home to your beautiful wives". Fun!
Then the swedes responded "Go home to your ugly wives"😅
In the USA, they believe that the Super Bowl is the best sporting event in the world, and what a great atmosphere there is. I admit that it is really interesting and spectacular, but it is nowhere near a European football match. In the USA, it's all about the money and the show. European football, on the other hand, is about a sense of belonging and respect for teams.
Nice reaction. It´s so fun so see Americans react to european football culture. Realize, you will never understand ( unless you come over here and watch a match between some of the great teams. No offense..-
JJLA low key becoming an arsonist towards the end.
Sadly, English fans have become much more sanitized after making our stadiums all-seater around 30 years ago after The Hillsborough Football disaster.
They are, gradually,re=introducing "Safe Standing" which will improve the atmosphere although it will never be what it was.
There is a 3-minute video from 1964 called " Liverpool F C-The Kop Crowd" with 28,000 singing and swaying behind the home goal which shows how it used to be in England.
@NSA2k It was great prior to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster after which the stadiums became All Seaters which are sanitized and, relatively, soulless. AT LAST, they are bringing back "Safe Standing" at many Clubs.
@NSA2k Hopefully although next May,I enter my 8th decade so who knows how much of it,I will see
@NSA2k So far,so good,my friend..:)
Check out the Bradford City fire 1985 to see why flares are banned in England and other countries. 56 died because of a cigarette!!
Thanks for listening JJ:) Football was voted the most popular sport, recently, in all 55 European Countries. I have been to 1,770 matches in London and am in my 7th decade of attending. To explain. The first Glasgow Celtic song was "You'll Never Walk Alone" then The Napoli, Italian fans were Away from home and kept back for an hour so you saw after the game when all the Home fans had departed hence the empty seats. The empty seats next to the Leeds, England fans were deliberately empty to create a space between rival fans.
In many countries there is a 99% Male crowd hence the intensity and even where they are Females in the Stadium ,then it is only a small percentage:)
Oh wow! Props to you for being a loyal fan! Those clips are much more impressive knowing it was after the game and the away team was taking over the stadium in a sense. Very impressive! Cheers to you 🍻
Most popular in all 55 countrie doubt it.For the last 5 years it has come behind the GAA in Ireland, mind you as the GAA is actually two sports if they were separated football would be on top in some years but not all years.
@@gallowglass2630 Hi. I got that from a recent reaction from "Favor" who commentated on that fact and I did see the Countries all appear, one by one.

Next coming weeks. Feyenoord is coming for you. Don't think, when you are to scared to give us tickets, the only game in champions league that doesn't allow away supporters, That we don''t be in your city. History is very important in Footbal. You guys where on the wrong side. Good luck!
It looks more dangerous as it actually is. The fans know what they are doing and generally no one gets injured by the flares. But they are not legal inside an arena.

Yep, everyone.
You'll never walk alone is their club song always sang before the matches.
Liverpool was first to use it but the atmosphere at Celtic Park beats the atmosphere on Anfield big time.
The polish one was a match during the polish uprising so it's a reminder to people whst the Germans did to poles in ww2
Bro really started crying over a legias banner. Thanks for listening outside of usa, and yes, it all has some meanings, but it's no reason to cry man.
If you see a block of empty seats, especially at a particularly lively game, then it's usually because they want to give more separation between the home fans and the visiting fans. Makes it easier for the stewards and police to have a no-man's land area between.
Oh BTW, the empty seating areas are not due to seats not selling (at least in these cases). They are sometimes closed for security reasons. You don't want to have opposing fans next to each other sometimes because ultras have a hard time being civil.
5:18
It's empty below because Napoli played away so that was the away section.
The crazy thing about the the club dynamo dresden from germany is, that this isnt even first devision footballl. Its from second or even third tier, depending on the year this video was taken
In swedish the fire thing is called a ”Bengal” It is like a stick that you can hold in your hand. 😀❤️
5:10 Is because those are away fans. Those fans have followed the team to another city, the empty seats arn't them.
you should watch derby days by copa 90 its mainly about rivalry between teams but tells more about the history of some cities than history channels
The European Clubs (not UK) are led by the Ultras, these dictate who does what at a game, from flags to flares to what songs they sing etc etc.. They will also tell there club if they want to get rid of bad players and bully them in many ways until they get rid.. Also they have political traits
But England have best chants:D greets from central europe
@@apmd9261because anyone can start it, if one person comes up with something funny, they can chant it and everyone else will pick it up

The smoke was from the banger you heard.
Small pieces with a deafening bang that bring nothing to the atmosphere.
It's mostly used to intimidate opponents and authorities.
Even though I'm a Red Star fan from Sweden I will never go to the Belgrade derby with Partizan, the last club in this video.
It's considered the most dangerous derby in Europe.
You have to realize that we are a warrior race, it's another level
Sometime a seating section used to be kept empty to act as a "no mans land" to keep opposing fans apart. I don't think it's so bad these days, but things used to get pretty hostile.
9:39 yeah there are people beneath the hugh banner. they pull it from the button to zhe top over the crowd. they are doing it mostly before the game starts or with the start of the game
1:15 Olympique de Marseille France Stadium is approximatively 60K fans and it's a game with the north and south rostrums, they're saying "aux armes..." mean "to the weapons" "nous sommes les marseillais, et nous allons gagner" we are the marseillais, and we're going to win

Flares are not generally allowed in stadiums but particularly determined fans tend to smuggle them in anyway.
No, they are not injured, they are delighted. Adrenali shot.
That's a German officer holding a pistol to a Polish child's head. Obviously commemorative of something in the 2nd world war, probably symbolistic of not surrendering to the Nazis.
You owe to yourself to come to a European football match one day! I hope you do.👏🏻✌🏼
Hi, this is the first video I've watched from you. It was very interesting to see your reaction, I've been watching football games in Germany my whole life. If you enjoyed the reaction, I would be happy if you would take a look at more German clubs. Many greetings from Hamburg/Germany

Ultras - Our way of life (video)
Hey, du sprichst Deutsch?@@JJLAReacts
5:11 what you're looking at is the away section of the stadium. The fire is obviously illegal (mostly), but the flags are usually approved by the clubs. The reason the seats around it are empty is because for some high risk matches they keep a perimeter of empty seats around the away section to help prevent fights between the supporter groups.
The empty sets are often set aside to separate rival groups of fans. A neutral zone.
Next - if you haven't already ? - you should react to the Bradford Fire in the 1980's... (Then you'll understand my reticence for encouraging fires / flares in the crowds in football stadia) 🥺😕😦😢
Oh gosh, I was worried about that! I was half-way joking when encouraging fire because it seems so dangerous. I'll check it out, thanks!
@@JJLAReacts
And the Hillsborough crush disaster... 😢
LOL imagine this video without Dortmund and Liverpool, like time was wasted😆
Before you get too carried away at the sight of flares it's important to note there's a difference between football fans and ultras. Ultras are political fascists masquerading as football fans trying to recruit the disaffected and polarised to their racist cause. You'll notice real fans are sporting team colours while the ultras in the video are wearing the historic 'blackshirts' of the fascist movement. This is mainly an Italian and Eastern European problem, Britain and Western Europe dealt with them in the 70's and 80's and kicked them out of football grounds. The Hungarian national team was made to play matches without fans after ultras racist chanting and mass object throwing towards England's black players during an international last year.
You just nailed it! Its sad but still exists. They are not the best football fans, they are the worst. There are still people dying before and after the games.
Didnt you notice the SS Lazio ultras doing the roman salute? I think most U.S. people dont get it. Dont mistake passion for violence, hatred and rivalry. You guys have street gangs, we have ultras and hooligans.
What do you think ultras stand for...? Ultra violence, ultra nationalism, huge fights before and after the games, police charges, rioting....
Sports should be about fair play and respect.
@@a.laroze4638 Thanks. I already see ultras using the comment section to encourage him to watch more of their videos. They're trying to recruit him !
What reactors don't realise is that when they react to ultra videos and the original video gets banned, the ultra recruiters can still piggyback off the reactor's video to propagate their hate speech, violence and recruitment. Don't go down the rabbit hole JJ
What about ultras of left wing clubs? Or are they not a problem to you? You’re just as ignorant as the guy in the video.
So are you saying, using flares makes you fascist?

The ww2 one was to celebrate the liberation of Warsaw I think it was the 75th anniversary. If you read the bottom it said thousands died that day and many where children. Then uefa fined them for it so they put up the uefa fat pigs banner in protest.

Liverpool manager Bill shankly said "football is not a matter of life and death it's more important".
There's no empty seats of matter of tickets , its matter of seperation , to keep the Ultras somehow isolated so they dont start a fight with the oposite team fans , and by the way , we consider our teams family and ulras well u consider them as the closesed circle of that family
Very nice video mate, greetings from Germany
I'm usually not the mean type, but your lighting really does the intro music justice.. 😁
P.S.: Regarding the german match at 6:40, eversince you guys forbade us from having fun while visiting foreign countries, we had to make due by turning our stadiums into battlegrounds.. 🤷🏼♂️
Mainland Europe fans the best in the world, cheers from Sparta Prague
The one you weren't impressed by was Besiktas in Turkey, the Club that holds the record for the loudest fans. Don't be fooled by fire & confetti, that doesn't make any noise ;)
Empty seats are normal between home and away fans it's a police thing..most away teams sell out in the prem but the police make sure there's an empty section between home and away fans, the juventus one (top tier) are the away fans and obviously won, the Ajax one is I think we (Tottenham ENG) silenced them and sent them home crying when we beat them in the champions league semi final ... theres an awful lot of intimidation and aggro between fans in Europe so at some games the police will keep away fans behind... in the big games in England police march the away fans to the ground to prevent violence, there can be depending on size of the ground upto 4,000 away fans
ITS NOT FIRE ONLY FLARES!!, when you Americans will learn the difference....
The gaps with the seats are there to separate the home and away fans
It's not fire, it's flares, same kind of flares they use when on boats. Also almost every club uses flares or as you call "fire", but only in certain games. They are not allowed to bring those in, but they sneak them in the stadium
The song the Leeds fans were singing is a song i learnt before i could even talk thanks to my dad!
That's good parenting! When my parents weened my off the bottle, my Dad told me that our rival team took my bottle 😂
Can you please tell me what they're singing? As a non-english speaker it's very hard to understand
@@JJLAReacts That’s brilliant 😂
I beg to differ , but until I go to one I’ll have to listen to your point . As long as you enjoy , that’s all that matters .
The empty seats you noticed are deliberately left empty by the police & is known as 'segregation. It is to prevent the home fans (singing) and the 'away' fans (just below the camera) from getting to each other.
In the usa u love the game.
Here in europe we have pasion for the game. From when we were a child we are brought up with this. A uncle or someone who is a fan makes sure u got the bug and the pasion for the game. We are hardcore for one team and fuck everybody else 😂😂😂
First of all about the empty seats ive seen a few mention it in the comments its about safety between rival fans, Some teams play in stadiums that have 10.000 seats but only 3.000 watches the game as its a small town or city. The flares and bangers are always used in the ultras section of the stadium and families or neutral fans are usually no where near that so no one should be afraid to visit a game. In sweden in our local derbies we have empty spaces around the away fans so it wont be any fighting or stuff like that. In Argentina away fans arent allowed to come watch the games. Im not 100 percent sure if its all clubs in Argentina but atleast during the Boca - River derby there are only fans to the hometeam in the stadium.
About the fire for Bosnia and Serbia as someone who lives in both countries we have fire but only when we are against our old rival in other words in derbis we have alot fire that we can't even breath properly after the game, sometime because of that fire they have to stop the game and play it another day.
The best Football fans are the ones that turn up week in week out to watch teams that have no hope in hell of winning anything ever.
4:30 that stuff are already in the stadium.
8:22 american learns about histroy, 2023 colorized
OMG it is NOT FIRE, these are flares ( fire works) obviously... you are baffled by our european passion and pride, I guess school shootings are more common in america than freedom of expression 🤷♂️ ( I dont mean to be rude, but I am just amazed who you seem confused 🤷♂️) In Europe each club/team represents the city and the fans represent their city, this is a way of showing pride and support,
It is flares not fire. In football stadiums there is a gap between the home and away fans. Legia Warsaw are remembering The Warsaw uprising. There are no balconies at at a football stadium only the upper tier of the stands. There is no need for cheerleaders or dancers at a football match.
The empty seats are usually intentional, gives the police and security something to work with.
Read the phrase below the tifo ...
Warsaw... Poland...1944... Rings a bell, maybe?
Poland suffered greatly
If you are quirious and not so scared of what you saw. I recomend you to reaction ultras our way of life, there you see what passion is for the fans here.

And there you have the other part of the dangerous Belgrade derby.
Not my cup of tea because I'm a Red Star fan.
Your right , I totally agree .👍
They have empty seats to keep opposing fans apart, its not like america where they are all best friends?
Ya, the Turks and Greeks tend to have the most intimidating-looking crowds. I don't really like the flares myself and you won't see them at Premier League (England) games, because they are banned. I am also not very into making it seem like a warzone. I'm an Irish football fan and we tend to prefer to have a good time. II much prefer anthems and shows of character over this other stuff. Still, it is interesting from a distance :P
Its empty around and below because they segregate the fans to stop them killing each other after invading the pitch

This guy scares me. He sounds like a serial killer....
Using pyrotechnics of any kind in a German stadium is illegal because of the danger of injury. It may LOOK impressive, sure, but ...
The empty seats are absolutely normal for big games and rival games, You want rival fans as far apart as possible, It makes policing much easier, Losing $100,000 on tickets is better than having $1,000,000 to spend on repairs and fines. In europe if there is any violence, Clubs get fined.
