- Máxima is a six-part drama series (6x50 min) that explores the life of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, based on Marcia Luyten's bestseller.
The series tells the fascinating life story of the Dutch Queen Máxima, from her early life in Argentina and New York to her future as the queen of the Netherlands. From the moment the beautiful Argentine Máxima appears at the Dutch Crown Prince's side, she finds herself in the spotlight. But when Willem-Alexander asks her to marry him, the past catches up with her. Heated discussions erupt about her father's political career in the Argentinian Videla regime - something she never faced in her own circles. Can Maxima stay true to herself without giving up her family - or do these things not go together?
‘Máxima’ is based on the book ‘Máxima Zorreguieta: Motherland’ by Marcia Luyten, published by De Bezige Bij. The series is produced by Rachel van Bommel for Millstreet Films, in co-production with FBO and Beta Film, with the support of the Dutch Film Fund Production Incentive, the Creative Europe MEDIA program, and the Belgian Tax Shelter. The series is directed by Saskia Diesing, Joosje Duk, and Iván López Núñez. The script is written by Marnie Blok, Ilse Ott, Judith Goudsmit, Diede Zillinger Molenaar, Sytske Kok, and Marcela Guerty.

You could have just said Maxima= queen of the Netherlands. People could google the rest if they really wanted to know.
When she was working in the jet-set bank society she did see how corrupt and criminal and yet powerfull the bankers are, and now she continues her power in the WEF with digital pasport and digital wallet.

love this! I hope they also show the amount of opposition she faced because of her family name! for those who don't know, her great-grandfather was part of the Argentina regime! a regime that caused millions of deaths! Hence why many people didn't like the fact that the granddaughter of an ex-dictator right-hand man was marrying into such an influential and powerful family! But with hard work and dedication, she managed to win over most of the Dutch citizens!

Maxima’s father was hated because he was a key part of the American-backed dictatorship in Argentina in the 1970s. (US withdrew their support when they invaded the UK held Malvinas Islands).
His father was not a key part, he was an officer, not part of the junta. If you consider hem part of the military government just cos he was military, then you should consider also all men under military service too. And He was not hated, just to avoid show as the royal family support to dictatorship, He cannot be present at the wedding, his prefered tango song was played for him, "adios Leonino". The democratic president Raul Alfonsin himself let clear that the father of Maxima was not part of the dictatorship, he was a good man.

Like they will ignore the fact that (ex)queen Beatrix thought she could close down bars and cancel the flea market, as she though evryone (including very young kids) would watch her speech of her stepping down in their own homes. It gave her so much backlash.
Either most ppl in the Netherlands doesn't care much aboot the royal fam, because the royal fam think they r above the citizens. What is unlike with (ex)Queen Elizabeth in UK, whom is seen like a fam member of most British ppl.

Clearly covered... Máxima is a royalty. She descends from the Inca's royal dinasty. Inca royalty still exists spanish gave important to the royals even killing some of them. But spanish conquerors also married with inca's royalties and they are noble families in Spain. I think that the person that presented them had investigated did well the homework so she was presenting royal to royal.

Aún así, está basado en mi experiencia directa con varios argentinos que, por lo general, han sido bastante engreídos, egocéntricos y prepotentes. Eso sí, todos han sido inmigrantes que venían de Buenos Aires y con un poder adquisitivo relativamente alto. Quizá el problema sea más de gente adinerada que de los argentinos en sí, aunque hay aspectos que no tienen nada que ver con el dinero, pero prefiero no entrar en cuestiones de origen y raza.
