This is a video of British soldiers in an undercover mission in Hakoya, Norway, trying to sabotage Battleship Tirpitz, simulated in Call of Duty.
Call of Duty is a 2003 first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the first of many installments in the Call of Duty franchise. It was released in 2003 for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and N-Gage.

The Bismarck sinking the HMS Hood was just a great luck. The window of opportunity for that shot to pierce the armor at the required point for a detonation was 20, 40 seconds tops. It was a one in a million shot, a Skywalker shot. But then again, Bismarck received another one in a million hit with the torpedo that jammed the rudder. Lady Luck can be such an unfaithful mistress...

i played this game when i was 10. In that time i did 45 minutes about this whole mission, it was a whola advanture. instat of 8 minutes...

They should remaster games like this. Keep Supply Drops and needless microtransactions out, and just give us this game as a gift, with the option to play it in nowadays graphics or the old graphics from 2003. I think that'd be cool

God I wish CoD1 and 2 would get a remastered. They are such great games (used to play the shit out of them when I was young) but the graphics didn't age too well

Fond memories of this game! Must've played through it a few times! I remember playing multiplayer on the Tirpitz map as well. I loved CoD 1 multiplayer. It was so simple compared to the modern ones but so good. It didn't need to be or try to be flashy.
This mission was hard for me when I was a little kid everytime Cpt. Price died in the battleship I'm always scared when I place bombs because there is sometimes Germans behind me, and when I spot a german I keep shooting bullets wasting my ammo to make sure the German is dead 😂😂
That thing spinning at the top of the mast is a rangefinder, not radar. Shouldn't be spinning.
Ann Oynmous basically theres 2 optics on each end and then you line up those 2 images you see to estimate the range, well i think thats how it works. Feel free to point out if im making a mistake
Call of duty wasn't able to get all the info we can now to be fair, but now adays that is a major issue
pcosta816 That was I was thinking too, but it does have a radar there, but it is mostly used for "seening" the enermy ship and then try to find the range

alessiog876 there was already a prototype that was tested in 1942 and in 1943 it was introduced as the MP 43. But it wasn’t until 1944 that it was issued in large quantities now under the name MP44

I have never played any of the original Call of Duty games, the earliest game I have played was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. But looking at this gameplay, it gives off a similar vibe to a game I played before I started playing Modern Warfare. That game was Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and it turns out that many of the core developers for that series went on to make the Call of Duty series we know and love today. I can tell from watching the gameplay that the textures, footstep sounds, in-game message fonts, and the lighting is almost spot on to what Allied Assualt was like. And it took me back to the first mission when I was in Norway, sabotaging a U-Boat and destroying the Naxos prototype. Even though the composer for this Call of Duty was Michael Giacchino, the mood of the music reminds of when I was in North Africa and I was sabotaging the motor pool and destroying the munitions to the Afrika Corps. I just might get myself a copy to play to really experience this.
I played both MoH's and CoD's and I find cods better, much better gunplay, feel, more varied missions, but MoH better paints the team mentality, both games have great storylines.

When i was a kid,this was the hardest mission cuz i always forget where is the boat and the bridge XD
imagine if someone was to make a recreation of this scene with modern game engines. It would be a hell of a sight to see. Hell someone should make a demo visual like the one for the Titanic that's been floating around. There isn't anything wrong showing something for historical purposes.

Cause the Tirpitz is a Bismarck class.
With that many sailors on Tirpitz should have just lifted the keys off the caption and drove Tirpitz back to Britain. 1962 enlisted and 103 officers (wiki). The rest of the crew must have been at the movies, which showing a western or something with a lot shooting.

Because the ship needs to be repaired according to Evans' log before the beginning of the mission. They took this opportunity to sabotage it.
Even tho there's several things that aren't that logical in this mission ( like Capt Price obvious british appearance and weird accent when speaken german) it was a fun and quite challenging mission, I remember this being so much longer than 8 minutes and that's maybe because I moved checking almost every single corner to not get killed by a german suddenly showing up from cover, but I like it nonetheless
every time I play on this mission, I always get lost on how to get back to the ship

Only thing about all of this that annoys me is that the rangefinders on the Tirpitz are spinning as if they are search Radar. (They have radar on them, but thats not how they work. You simply aim them at the target.
