This is where Ed Dickens started. He did A LOT of work on #40 when it was at the loop. It's a cool engine to run.

sorry, this is are clips of the same loco that pulled the 2012 Santa special at the CRRM, running on the Georgetown loop RR back around 1998 before being relocated to Golden

I wonder If engines 1, 48, and 111 would be ready by next year or two

Sounded like the Norfolk and western hooter whistle 0:08

Is this a k-26? I rode the Durango & Silverton and they use k-28s and k-36s. I noticed this is narrow gauge rail, and the Cumbres and Toltec used k-27s, although those are all 2-8-2 mikados, and this is a 2-8-0 consolidation. So some insight to this loco would be appreciated. Thanks

*At several points during the vid* Okay, that whistle didn't come from our train... Should we be worried? :P
Also, what's with the recent trend of engines having two whistles? First it was NKP 765, now this.

i THINK the two whistles was a not so much a trademark but a symbol of Georgetown loop RR. Also 765 was not the only locomotive. SP 4449 in 1976, and i believe Conway scenic 7470 had the peanut 5 chime and the B&M 3 chime, simulator sounding to PRR 7002.

#40 has no history in Colorado prior to being bought in as a tourist engine, its a 2-8-0 that was built for the International railway of central america by Baldwin and imported back to the US for the Georgetown loop. No such thing as a K-26.

#40 is at the colorado railroad musium not in georgetown. Shay #9 is now there so this is not it.
