My Father is about to pass. Yesterday a stranger was talking to me and described him as a hero. We used to watch all the games together, rooted for and against Chris. Dad grew up in West Roxbury. and I went to school there. Always good to see you Chris, keep on keepin on.
Jim M... he was big and tough. I remember the Whalers went through this phase where they drafted and brought up all these tough dudes (Churla, LaForge) had the "grappler" Torrie Robertson.... and traded for more in the 90s (Janssens, Grimson). All of these seem so nice... back then so mean. Greatest game on earth with the best people in sports. Then as a kid it was personal... hated Nilan (until he became a Ranger), hated Dave Brown, Behn Wilson etc... Now I cannot find the same in the game nor can my kids. Like something is missing.
I loved watching these guys being a huge Bruins hockey fan starting earl sixties. All the stories on Nilans podcast are hysterical. It brings to mind the absolute perfect country song called The Winner. Bi Bobbie Bare. It applies to every one of these tough guys. I bet getting out of bed every morning reminds them of the price they paid. Great podcast.
Jim certainly explains how a fighter is created. Apparently he was a top defenseman in Midget so it is too bad he never got to show his true hockey skills. He still had a decent career. Excellent interview.
Fantastic! Loved McKinzie and he was a very underrated, but tough fighter. And I love the names in Canada too. Flin Flon, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Crapaud, Balls Falls, Stoner, Witless Bay and Dildo.
Mac, there is an incredibly long list of good solid players that “they” wanted to become full time warriors. I chose to take the two steps back and wasn’t able to get back up. A ton of respect to you and all the guys like you that stayed the course. You are a well spoken guy and happy I tuned in for this episode. I haven’t missed many Knucks!
I remember catching that Brown bout on ESPN highlight… I was pumped to see new blood in the HW division in Jimmy Mac…. So much so that my brother & I took a road trip upon Hartford to catch the Vancouver game… hoping JM would find Gino Odjick for a potential bout… unfortunately it didn’t happen but we were able to see one of the most unique arenas in hockey … located in the middle of a shopping Mall! Good old days when we would think nothing of taking a road trip at the drop of a hat …. Living in NY- NJ we when the game was Great!
Funny story with Jim Mac Hat Trick. Exactly two minutes before Jim scores his third, the only goal for the Kings in this game was scored by Matt Johnson, his first of the season. Five minutes after Mac scored his third, the boys dropped the gloves. McKenzie won the fight, knocking Matt down with a left.
And after an hour and a half, I still don't know much about Jim Mckenzie...I am beginning to wonder if Chris has guests on just to listen to his stories.
Jimmy Mac in the house. The first fight of Jimmy’s that comes to mind is the bout he had in the AHL against Bill Huard. Anyone who’s seen this fight knows exactly what I’m talking about. Boom boom boom out goes the lights. Jimmy cleaned house and ended up handing Huard the biggest loss of his career.
Hate to agree here. Love Knucks but the interviews always seem to end up with him talking way too much about HIS career & the guests end up almost looking bored after awhile.
Chris, with all due respect man, You have to let your guests speak… Let them roll… it has to be 90% -10% guest content… Not 70% - 30% you!!! This had the trappings of a great interview… But fell short! This is what makes Joe Rogan great… he lets his guests run with it.. that’s the key here… less is more, bro! Jim is a gentleman .. he appeared extremely bored here…. You have to correct this asap!

Big Jim McKenzie. Awesome. From Hartford, we loved this guy. Good community guy. What a great interview
Early 90s in Hartford was a tough time to be a teenager, but at least we had something to root for.

Jim was loved wherever he played , tough as nails ...Thanks for the entertainment Jim ..all the best

We loved Jimmy Mac in HARTFORD. He was always out in the community-great team guy!
WOW, what a great show, Jim Mckenzie one of the toughest of all time.
Fantastic! Loved McKinzie and he was a very underrated, but tough fighter. And I love the names in Canada too. Flin Flon, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Crapaud, Balls Falls, Stoner, Witless Bay and Dildo.
I've said it before.....the best show of its kind online! 👏👏✌️ (from a NE Ohio WHA Cleveland Crusaders fan!)
The wha sucked pal stole a lot of good nhlers Gretzky messier hull cheevers just to name a few. Keep that wha shit to yourself
His fight with Tony Twist was legendary.
He pummeled Twist a couple of times in Twist's Quebec days.
@55Porter He was a beast with Hartford. When he went to New Jersey it seems he was burnt out.

** living in NY- NJ.. we always had a choice of games ….. **
Big Jim in that green uniform, a classic.
Excellent guest… he had all the tools to be the next Probert… size, strength, ambidextrous with power!
OH, IS HE A PROFESSIONAL BOXER??
Go back to sleep , sugar plumb!
Great show as always !
Former NJ Devul season ticket holder that lovedJimmy Mac.Every one loved him in Jersey
Jim McKenzie proved thoughtful once he got the floor. Well done.
Was lucky enough to meet Jim M in late 90s. Great guy - BIG dude.
My condolences Knuckles.
McKenzie arguably the most underrated Heavyweight ever!

One of the most "under rated Heavy weights for sure!!" Oh man he looks like Larry Robinson without the glasses!!
McKenzie could have been number 1 if he wanted to
We loved Jimmy Mac in Jersey
Where’s Tim?
Topgun Enforcer 🥊
I see sorrow in Jims face when Chris tells him about their fight and how it was the nearing the end.
And after an hour and a half, I still don't know much about Jim Mckenzie...I am beginning to wonder if Chris has guests on just to listen to his stories.
Can anyone TELL US WHERE TIM IS? WHAT HAPPENED?
Maybe he can get Jim MacKenzie for the next podcast
What podcast do you think you're watching?? 🤣🤣
@mikefosher… I’ll second that one, bro!!!
@@JimRosebush-g8v He is being sarcastic.
Wow, Mckenzie retired 20 years ago. Crazy
With a video this long, indexing/chaptering it would be super helpful.
🤟😎🤟

When I think of him, I think of the huge hammers he had as hands.
how cool is mac......
What happened to Tim?
Chris is so right the game is pond hockey or shiny. Terrible game now.
He was a guy few players wanted to challenge. Must have been a good teammate.
Most fighters are. Notice how many become coaches or part of organization after retirement.
The red line will never come back due to "The Trap". Still some variants of it exist still.
I agree Chris the way the defense plays is a joke. Leave guys in front of the net without touching them its sad to see the game like this.
Jimmy Mac didn’t lose many
Nilan always says. "It's Not About Me..." but it aways is. ... just sayin.
TALKS TOO MUCH...75 CHRIS , 25 GUEST...TOOO MUCH CHRIS..
Hate to agree here. Love Knucks but the interviews always seem to end up with him talking way too much about HIS career & the guests end up almost looking bored after awhile.
@@tallguynmass He's sharing his story one guest at a time.

His podcast is great, but it's definitely 80% about him, I've heard all his stories about 30 times
