I have been a plant collector for many years now but I just finally purchased three 6 inch tails (unrooted) I would like to know if we can root them in water if we do not submerge the tail? Also, after you place the tail in soil (as shown in your video) how long until you can water the plant? If placed directly into soil m there are no roots so I worry about giving it the water it needs. HELP
Thank U so much.....I haven't tried rooting the monkey tail cactus in water will try when I have lots available 😉.... And for propagation in soil ( before I plant the cuttings I let it callus for a week,then planted it in dry soil ) watered after two weeks to avoid rotting.best time to propagate is during spring and summer...
U can use gritty mix soil for succulent.u can buy it in any garden store supplies or U can make your own. Just mix 1 part each (soil,coarsed sand,perlite and akadama or kanuma)
