Hmm, I heard there is a balance patch incoming for RA2 after all these years, let me get you some patch notes:
-Bryan has been removed from the game, because his strats are too confusing for other players

-Dogs have been removed from the game, because their fights are too confusing for XxMalaboo

The robot tank rush is truly awesome

If any unit is truly useless it's the Robot Tank. The Grizzly out-performs the Robot Tank cost-for-cost in every single category except speed, and all the Robot Tank gets in return is a couple misc advantages that are hardly ever useful (Hovering over water and mind control immunity) but if you thought that might make up for it at all it also has a distinct disadvantage in relying on the Robot Control Center.
600 is quite cheap for a tank actually. Keep in mind that rocketeers cost 600 too. You can't do much with 4 rocketeers but as you can see with 4 robots each they destroyed two opponents. On land maps or against yuri, they are completely useless. No denying that. Overall, they're good
700 is really not that much more expensive for a Grizzly and you get nearly double the health.
Comparing to Rocketeer is not that fair, they have nearly identical DPS and Rocketeers fly meaning they are only vulnerable to AA. They also only take Barracks time so it's much easier for them to reach a critical mass because not only are they much easier to build but they die much less often too. Rocketeers do slightly less damage over longer periods of time than Robot Tanks because they fire much faster with less damage (30ROF @ 25 damage vs 60ROF @ 65 damage) but all in all the flying is far more useful on the Rocketeer than Robot Tanks hovering or mind control immunity.
Robot Tanks also are shut down when there is no Robot Control Center, a *huge* disadvantage.
Robot Tanks are also easily destroyed by any comparable tanks, Grizzly, Rhino, even Lasher.
But Rocketeers are vulnerable to anti air defenses. And in this particular case, Blue and Pink are totally expecting their opponents to rush with eagle jets and rocketeers, so they built a lot of AA tanks. This is how strategy games work - anything can be extremely worthy in a particular case.
Robot tanks are also really good against naval units believe it or not.

Hey Bryan, keep up the replays! So much nostalgia! Gonna have to pick this game back up and divide my time between this and DOW III.
I played a rectangluar map once with 4 players on each side, pretty jammed. I used a spy to infiltrate an opponents allied Battle Lab to get the Chrono Commando.
Then I just built a ton of those and used the waypoint to destroy almost 2 entire bases before they died.
It was so epic. Could you see if you can do something similar? I'd enjoy watching that.

Probably one of his tips (as a Soviet) is to train Tesla Troopers. They're really good at stalling.
Have you played the newer games? If so, what are your thoughts of them? It's fun to watch these videos...It's been a while since I've seen RA2 gameplay (then again, I mostly watch C&C3:KW gameplay)
I really only liked C&C3:KW, the vanilla C&C3 was alright, but was lacking in terms of faction types (which is where Kane's Wrath took care of). With RA3, it was really only for the co-op campaign.
If I am to be completely honest, Tiberium Sun is my favorite of the entire series. Both that game and RA2's campaign were pretty good to me (although Yuri's Revenge was a little too tedious with the mind-control elements).
It'd be fun to watch you play some of the other ones (at least I think the Co-op campaign in RA3 with you and Malaboo would be hilarious).I know you're limited on time with Med school coming up (With me being a dual-major in college, I can get the idea)..so don't worry, I'll take some C&C RA2 gameplay anyday haha.
There's a good number of mods for C&C3 that are actually pretty good and do bring some player base to it (Tiberium Essence is really the only one I like - converts most of the units to Tiberium Sun units and it surprisingly changes a good amount of the game -campaign actually gets significantly harder).
As for C&C3 vs C&C3:KW, I believe KW is more popular for few reasons (I could be wrong, but I don't see as much tourneys and videos for the base C&C3). More factions (which allows for some interesting playstyles as well as strategies) and the larger variety of units at disposal (both with every base faction as well as the advantages of more specialized factions). The epic units (MARV, Redeemer, and Eradicator Hexapod) really make things interesting when utilized. Team battles are really interesting when mixed factions in them. (There's probably more than this, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head)
I will say the one thing that took me some getting used to when I played the newer games was the change in the meta. The newer "meta" with it's emphasis on rock-paper-scissor unit mechanics forces unit diversity to some extent. Can't get away with the "Tank + Q + Shift-1" strat (or whatever it's actually called lol) where you could get away with large amounts of one unit...like the Rhino tank, Grizzly and Rocketeer in most of your videos. I still remember the days of mass-producing Tick Tanks (or Titans if I was GDI) and deploying them during fights...that and the nod artillery was the "pls don't make those" unit...

Yup even when playing against AI it would be the first thing i built.On the soviet side i made sure to build at least two bunkers in my base maybe more.Sometimes i would set two sentry guns on either side of the bunkers.Just give that extra bit of firepower.If their are any buildings nearby i waste no time garrisoning them to the max!!!! :)

I could see the Blue player's name in the second game at around 9:02 before the black bar covers it. Also salty players are funny to watch making up bullshit excuses like that.
How are you playing this online. Last tine I checked the servers (about 3-4 years ago) there was nobody what so ever other then admin. I haven't been able to play anyone online in like 10 years.
I think I even tried like a free months ago and the servers were completely gone.
Has RA2 made a comeback? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Also there send to be new biuldable units. Like robot tanks and industrial buildings. Can't say I remember those. Unless my copy of so old and hasn't been updated In 15 years

Not free, just very cheap something like 200-500 instead of the 1200-1500 they usually are
Nope. Selling the refinery only yields you 300 credits (50% of 600, which is 2000 minus 1400 for the miner). The advantage here is time - when you build miners at the war factory, you cannot build other tanks.
