I often watch your channel on my TV because it's the perfect antidote to all of the predictive programming that's churned out on telly. Plus, I don't have to keep turning the news off. I watched a very well-known awards programme recently (until i could stomach no more) and was made to feel rather nauseous by the sycophancy and the way everyone was blowing smoke up everyone else's rear ends. Western society has completely lost sight of what truly matters in life. Money and celebrity are king and queen, but it's all cleverly orchestrated to keep us all distracted and disconnected from Source. Once we see that, we can't unsee it. To be who we are, unapologetically, is an act of rebellion, but when we have the courage of our convictions, we light the way for others too. You do that in abundance. I ventured out yesterday to our largest garden center for a few specialty cactus (LOL) and though expansive and well presented it couldn't touch your gardens with a twig for beauty and diversity. Collette, you are a Green Thumb that's standing out, in the best and most sincere way possible. I often feel just yuck if I saunter into other TH-cam spaces. Maybe it is because I am of age as well and I don't understand where narcissism starts and ends in this world of social media. I choose to not have Facebook, or any of the other goop. They are real time distractions, and my life and what I do with it is deeply personal to me, therefore it is not for public consumption. Furthermore, I feel like a voyeur if I stay too long on someone's page or channel if I am not there for instruction or insight, so I simply don't do it, for sanity's sake. But that is why I feel so comfortable with your channel and why I keep coming back, usually at the end of my evening. The glorious bird song, alone, keeps me returning over and over again. Your channel is inspirational, relaxing, informative and grounding. My soul yearned for a channel and energy like yours and Jack's. Mother Nature is truly your muse. She seems to mind meld with you and Jack, which brings abundance, energy, love and solace to you both, and by extension, your viewers, through your simple act of returning love and reverence back to her. It was comments on another restoration cottage project that brought me here. Some would call it happenstance, but I would call it divine directing. It seems almost obscene to me that people would compete for screen time with Mother Nature. The only time It feels necessary is when there needs to be a size perspective shown, like putting a coin next to an object, or putting a hand under a grouping of leaves to show how small, delicate and beautiful they are, or perhaps to show a clear demonstration of tending to pruning, clearing, or planting. But like you have mentioned before, there are scads of actual demonstrations elsewhere on TH-cam so no one needs to see our mug clogging up the screen.
I so enjoy your videos, just the way they are. It really is like having a visit. And when we get to see you, we are seeing a friend, so it just feels natural. The way you present your channel is original. You think for yourself. I think many TH-camrs copy other channels because they don't know what else to do. You have an original presence that comes across in such a lovely way. Everything on your 3 acres is a joy to watch. Jack just makes me laugh out loud, especially today! I only subscribe to 3 channels as iv looked to see what’s about and it’s absolutely rubbish what’s out there . They swear at each other and so rude with all the comments . I would be so embarrassed to put my name to some of those channels . Any way we all love yours and feel part of it ( all friends together) . I like watching TH-cam because I can find lots of content about gardening, growing things, or any obscure interest I have at the moment--things that aren't of wide enough interest to make a TV show about, and often more personal than that anyway. But your channel stands out among them all; it's not at all like TV. It's far more personal. I hope you don't change that...

You are so right about TH-cam being a strange and confusing place. I've also had those moments of utter disappointment when I see what types of channels have such popularity. Our social media sites have to be the closest thing truly comparable to The Tower of Babel, at least that's what I call them anyway lol.. I think one thing that makes some TH-cam channels successful is how many are doing things that get their veiwers excited for the next video.. like you said you are planning these Witching hour video's, which I personally will be looking forward to even tho I never miss a video anyway.. it's a good idea to spark some extra curiosity. I think this is mainly how they keep subscribers interested, they do planned giveaways, special outings, special topics, etc. I wish you and your channel all the best. One channel I highly recommend if you like relaxing permaculture stuff is EdibleAcres. A small permaculture nursery in usa. Calm-voiced, informative, and often lots of trees. I like to watch a mix of educational and relaxing stuff, and this channel works for me.

I have been bouncing around your videos, clicking and watching and listening randomly as I like..anyhoo, a fun coincidence to this particular...is that today I took a photo of a wee bit of green leafy stuff popping out of a corner flower bed by the house and asked all mu friends and family on facebook what it is..I recognized as something I had seen before but never knew the name...and we are “new” to this property...having moved in just at the start of winter EVERYTHING is new and exciting and jussst starting to pop out of the ground from winter’s sleep..anyhoo..long winded...hahaha I have NO clue what 99% of the bushes and trees are..so hence I am googling and asking on FB..and today everyone alerted me that green stuff i discovered is a “dreaded” and “invasive” plant..haha a bunch of different names, goutweed or goatweed or snow-on-the-mountain or as I heard you call it ground elder...and everyone was hating on it so much I told my husband.. “I almost LOVE it now” hahaha just because...it was so hated hahaha I wanted to love it. ;) Contrary me. ;) Anyways...google says it is edible...? Hmm...shall have to learn more...things like that intrigue me..anyways...just fun that you mentioned it :) As I could go “Oh yes I have heard of that one!” Once the leaves pop out I am going to know so much more! I have been telling the buds “pop open so ai can see what you are!” 🤣😁🌲🌳🌱
My introduction to your videos, almost two years ago, led me to many other like minded and not so like minded youtubers. Only two stuck, yours and another, a guy building a cabin in the Canadian bush. He is in all his videos -- working -- and doesn't speak directly to the camera until the very end and only for a few minutes. Musings about life sorta stuff. I don't share all his beliefs, but I love watching this skilled man work, along with his golden lab pup, surrounded by the wild and beautiful forest of northern Ontario.

It is so nice to listen to someone who is so in tune to nature. We currently have some ants running around in my house and I am not going to kill them as they eat flea larvae and I am hoping they will help to keep the fleas down since I have recently found a few fleas on the cats and the dog and I don’t want to have to give them poison to kill the flees.

I have held off for so long because I keep telling myself that my property is not far enough along, or not pretty enough, or not lush enough, or that I will have to first clean up all the stuff that looks trashy even though it is being used... but you know what? I don't think my own ego will EVER be satisfied that I or the property are "ready". So tomorrow, I will do my first video. I too do felting.. you need to watch Sarafinafibreart.com she has lots of different tutorials online. A lot of them are free. She even does 2D fiber art painting... I ventured out yesterday to our largest garden center for a few specialty cactus (LOL) and though expansive and well presented it couldn't touch your gardens with a twig for beauty and diversity. Please don't change anything about the videos. I have stopped searching for gardening videos since I came across yours. And the reason for that is nothing elsev compares to what you bring to us through your channel. I am sure there are enough like minded people who resonate the same values you believe in. Collette, you are a Green Thumb that's standing out, in the best and most sincere way possible.
I often feel just yuck if I saunter into other TH-cam spaces. Maybe it is because I am of age as well and I don't understand where narcissism starts and ends in this world of social media. I choose to not have Facebook, or any of the other goop. They are real time distractions, and my life and what I do with it is deeply personal to me, therefore it is not for public consumption.
Furthermore, I feel like a voyeur if I stay too long on someone's page or channel if I am not there for instruction or insight, so I simply don't do it, for sanity's sake. But that is why I feel so comfortable with your channel and why I keep coming back, usually at the end of my evening. The glorious bird song, alone, keeps me returning over and over again. Your channel is inspirational, relaxing, informative and grounding. My soul yearned for a channel and energy like yours and Jack's. Mother Nature is truly your muse. She seems to mind meld with you and Jack, which brings abundance, energy, love and solace to you both, and by extension, your viewers, through your simple act of returning love and reverence back to her. It was comments on another restoration cottage project that brought me here. Some would call it happenstance, but I would call it divine directing.
It seems almost obscene to me that people would compete for screen time with Mother Nature. The only time It feels necessary is when there needs to be a size perspective shown, like putting a coin next to an object, or putting a hand under a grouping of leaves to show how small, delicate and beautiful they are, or perhaps to show a clear demonstration of tending to pruning, clearing, or planting. But like you have mentioned before, there are scads of actual demonstrations elsewhere on TH-cam so no one needs to see our mug clogging up the screen.

The way you present your channel is original. You think for yourself. I think many TH-camrs copy other channels because they don't know what else to do. I only subscribe to 3 channels as iv looked to see what’s about and it’s absolutely rubbish what’s out there . They swear at each other and so rude with all the comments . I would be so embarrassed to put my name to some of those channels . Any way we all love yours and feel part of it ( all friends together) . You are so right about TH-cam being a strange and confusing place. I've also had those moments of utter disappointment when I see what types of channels have such popularity. Our social media sites have to be the closest thing truly comparable to The Tower of Babel, at least that's what I call them anyway lol.. I think one thing that makes some TH-cam channels successful is how many are doing things that get their veiwers excited for the next video.. like you said you are planning these Witching hour video's, which I personally will be looking forward to even tho I never miss a video anyway.. it's a good idea to spark some extra curiosity. I think this is mainly how they keep subscribers interested, they do planned giveaways, special outings, special topics, etc. I wish you and your channel all the best. One channel I highly recommend if you like relaxing permaculture stuff is EdibleAcres. A small permaculture nursery in usa. Calm-voiced, informative, and often lots of trees. I like to watch a mix of educational and relaxing stuff, and this channel works for me.

I have been bouncing around your videos, clicking and watching and listening randomly as I like..anyhoo, a fun coincidence to this particular...is that today I took a photo of a wee bit of green leafy stuff popping out of a corner flower bed by the house and asked all mu friends and family on facebook what it is..I recognized as something I had seen before but never knew the name...and we are “new” to this property...having moved in just at the start of winter EVERYTHING is new and exciting and jussst starting to pop out of the ground from winter’s sleep..anyhoo..long winded...hahaha I have NO clue what 99% of the bushes and trees are..so hence I am googling and asking on FB..and today everyone alerted me that green stuff i discovered is a “dreaded” and “invasive” plant..haha a bunch of different names, goutweed or goatweed or snow-on-the-mountain or as I heard you call it ground elder...and everyone was hating on it so much I told my husband.. “I almost LOVE it now” hahaha just because...it was so hated hahaha I wanted to love it. ;) Contrary me. ;) Anyways...google says it is edible...? Hmm...shall have to learn more...things like that intrigue me..anyways...just fun that you mentioned it :) As I could go “Oh yes I have heard of that one!”

My introduction to your videos, almost two years ago, led me to many other like minded and not so like minded youtubers. Only two stuck, yours and another, a guy building a cabin in the Canadian bush. He is in all his videos -- working -- and doesn't speak directly to the camera until the very end and only for a few minutes. Musings about life sorta stuff. I don't share all his beliefs, but I love watching this skilled man work, along with his golden lab pup, surrounded by the wild and beautiful forest of northern Ontario.

Most perma culture sites on you tube are really mostly about the persons accomplishments..it gets kinda old. And so many are about food production..B. Cottage is really about reclaiming habitat. It is my night time meditation..i usually watch with out sound unless it is titled "A Rant". Them I am all ears.

You had the foresight to do what you've done, you are incredibly talented and capable, and you are living in a way that I wish I could do and am still trying to figure out how. Your lead and your ability for holding the space for the best kind of collaboration with All Life is an inspiration and a healing balm - and a bridge for the rest of us. There are more of us behind you than you know. You tube is a tool that is helping, and there is no comparison to your channel because you are a forerunner.

It is so nice to listen to someone who is so in tune to nature. We currently have some ants running around in my house and I am not going to kill them as they eat flea larvae and I am hoping they will help to keep the fleas down since I have recently found a few fleas on the cats and the dog and I don’t want to have to give them poison to kill the flees.

You have inspired me to go ahead and shoot a video in a fashion similar to your style of my property. I have held off for so long because I keep telling myself that my property is not far enough along, or not pretty enough, or not lush enough, or that I will have to first clean up all the stuff that looks trashy even though it is being used... but you know what? I don't think my own ego will EVER be satisfied that I or the property are "ready". So tomorrow, I will do my first video. I'll post a link to it in a reply to this comment for anyone who would care to view and give me some feedback... maybe, who knows, I will make a channel out of it some day... then you'll have something to watch that is in keeping with goddess permaculture :) thank you for the inspiration!

Jack steals the show!!😊His energy is contagious. Yes.. there is a lot of self aggrandizing stuff on. People want their 15 minutes of fame. They're really doing nothing for people or life in general. No enriching of one's soul. I remember your last video and you had mentioned taking a felting class. I too do felting.. you need to watch Sarafinafibreart.com she has lots of different tutorials online. A lot of them are free. She even does 2D fiber art painting... I've taken some of her courses and done the online tutorials. I tend to subscribe to TH-cam channels that teach something. Have a lovely week Colette. Oooh. I had to add.. I would stay up to watch that.. going into the gardens during the witching hour. Such a special and magical time.
With all the good content on YT such as yours, its easy to tune out the garbage. I use TH-cam to learn and to be inspired. I couldn’t be bothered with all the mindless BS that is going on with YT. What a waste of time. It baffles me that there is so much ignorance in the world. Those people who produce mindless content and those that watch it haven’t a clue that they are a huge part of what is happening in the world. I refuse to buy into such nonsense and thank God for people like you. 💕🌸🌝.
