    I was on Factor and the amound of sodium and fat in the food is insane!!! I started Fresh N Lean recently and I feel much better. It was very hard to find low or regular sodium meal plans.

    I've been using Fresh N Lean for a few months now, at the advice of my nutritionist. I must say, at first I was put off by the shrink wrapped packages AND the massive amount of packaging I had to dispose of, the ice packs, the insulating material and the box. Once I got passed all of that, I was really impressed with the food. I live on the east coast and starting in late May or so, I was able to select my individual meals from a list of options (I'm on the Whole30 plan). I did have 2 meals that I really didn't care for (both were BBQ turkey meatballs and veggies, gave one to my sister, she concurred, it was just not tasty), called the company and they immediately credited my account for the cost of the meals. This leads to the other thing about the company, their phone support people have been nothing other than stellar! I microwave my meals for about 3 minutes, in the tray and to be honest, they all turn out perfectly! (Tip- I use a razor knife to cut around the perimeter of the shrink wrap, place a paper towel on top of tray when microwaving, then use the towel to grasp the now very loose over wrap and throw it in the trash). Oh, and the Taco Vegetable soup she mentioned in review? I get the one with real chicken chunks, I think the soup is delicious, actually one of my favorites. Besides the one meal selection I have already mentioned, everything else I have gotten from Fresh N Lean has been great. I'm a single guy, and I really like the convenience, although I do think it is a bit expensive.

    I've been using them for over a year. I'm finally going to cancel because their portions are getting smaller and smaller over time. Or, a meal will have a decent amount, but the next meal won't. I also got food poisoning on my last meal. So those two factors made it not worth the $80 a week for 5 meals.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The meals are in the 400 calorie range. So as a man, if I ate 3 of these a day, would I be getting anywhere near my daily calorie needs? The answer is no. I'm using Cook Unity, and their meals are often more than double the calories of Fresh & Lean meals, and they're cheaper.

    Hi, being a vegan for almost 40 years (I'm 61 now) I lost my mom 2 years ago and have piled on weight since... went from 138 to 176. Wondering, in your opinion by sticking to a vegan plan of theirs would it be helpful to shed pounds???? I just don't want to do Nutri S or Jenny C!

      Stress makes you pile on weight (hello Cortisol) What I would suggest is to eat everything in moderation.
      I’ve tried this meal plan and it has tons of salt and extra additives that our body doesn’t need. I am 5’11 at 145 and I am constantly moving (even though I have lumbar and sciatic injuries) but I keep moving. Walking around the block in the early mornings and late evenings. Just keep moving, even if that means stomping your feet and flapping your arms while sitting in a comfortable arm chair.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2tall4u_ I agree. As someone with hypertension, Fresh N Lean meals have a lot of sodium, but the bigger issues for me was the price, and the calories of the meals. $15.49 for meals that rarely exceed 500 calories, and are often less. In contrast, I've noticed that Factor meals often exceed 700 calories which is better suited to a man's calorie requirements, but are also too high in sodium.

    This is an edit to prior entry that I deleted. So I tried Fresh n’ Lean for 2 weeks of the Mediterranean Diet plan and was underwhelmed. While the convenience was great and being already portioned, everything tasted the same and variety was poor with vegetables- cauliflower and kale was in everything and what about grilled zucchini, grilled eggplant, grilled peppers (especially on the Mediterranean Diet plan)???Also healthy whole grains was missing as a side for many entrees and the poultry used was poor quality. Prices were great due to discount code one week and a credit the other week as the chicken was awful in two of the meals so was refunded. My favorite was actually the breakfast options but something I make well already especially egg dishes. However, after 8 days, I found myself putting the meals in the freezer to avoid eating them and will be a last resort as a “nothing else to eat meal.” There was so much waste with delivery and all the ice packs. It actually made me realize while food prep is a pain, grilling outside is so much better and the flavor! Instead, bought myself a Mediterranean Diet cookbook for beginners and will just cook myself and suck it up that it’s work and have to wash dishes after. To help with that, going to batch cook with a friend. I have weekends off and get out of work early on Thursdays so it will force me to set aside time and meal prep and be productive… gave it a try and was a fail for me.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also tried their Mediterranean diet, but as I was only getting 5 dinners a week, they were costing me $15.49 each. I tried it for 2 weeks, and cancelled. The issues for me were #1, the cost, I didn't think they were worth $15.49 each. #2, not enough calories for men, many meals don't even hit 500. #3, no one mentions the sodium. All these prepackaged, heat to serve meals have too much sodium.

      @@MissSarahEK Thanks. My confusion came about because the instructions on the outside of the package didn't specify that the plastic should be cut after cooking. I'm trying to lose weight, and I hate cooking only because I have to wash dishes. Im very busy and am always on the go. Which would make me order Doordarsh etc...which led into me gaining lots of weight!! Do you think FreshNLean would help with their meal options?

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're a man, you'll certainly lose weight as you'll slowly starve to death. These meals in my opinion are aimed at the calorie requirements for women, and are insufficient for men, unless you generally consume most of your calories during the day, and typically eat a light dinner.

    • @Mr-ep2qi
      @Mr-ep2qi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bre u can use these meals as a baseline and always cook something else for yourself on the side. This is just to make sure you don’t have to eat out all the time - spending $40 on door dash all the time and cooking and cleaning all the time. Think about it u got 3 good meals planned out baseline - if you want to make some oatmeal or a pb and j on your own no one is stopping u

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mr-ep2qi I don't do Door Dash, etc. I'm not paying someone to bring me food when most of the restaurants I go to are only a couple of miles away at the most. And then what if you get your food, and the order is wrong? That's just wasteful spending in my opinion. At $15.49 each for 5 meals weekly, I can eat out cheaper. Went to Chick-fil-A the other night, had the spicy deluxe meal with waffle fries, and milkshake. The total was $14.16. I can get a 3 combination plate at a Mexican restaurant for around the same $15.49, and get a lot more food. If I'm paying $15.49 and having to supplement the meal to get sufficient calories, I might as well eat out.

      Might want to check out the sodium. They're actually really reasonable in comparison to most.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mookie840 why the sodium isn't terrible, I looked at the whole weeks menu for their Mediterranean diet, and not one meal hit 500 calories. Women on average should consume 2000 calories a day, and men 2500. Now I get most of my calories from dinner, and I bet that's true for a lot of men. So I should be eating 800 plus calories for dinner, not 400 something. Based on these averages, even women should be getting close to 700 calories a meal.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mookie840 but they're also low in calories, few hit 500 calories. Recommended calorie intake for women is around 2000 daily, and for men 2500. If I'm getting 470 calories at dinner, then I better be getting over 2000 calories a day from other sources. I run out the door with a banana, and coffee in the morning, and so I would need a 2000 calorie lunch, but I eat a light lunch as I don't want to be groggy after lunch. So I get most of my calories from dinner, and I bet a lot of working people do. Factor has meals over 700, even over 800 calories, however their focus seems to be keto, which I don't feel is a safe long term diet, and their meals are high in sodium. However, even with their shipping costs, I can get meals cheaper than from Lean N Fresh , and I would be getting enough calories to not waste away.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@turboleggy I was getting 5 meals a week as I was only interested in dinners, and I like to eat dinner out at least twice a week. And 5 dinners a week were costing me $77.45 or $15.49 each. Now according to what I see on the internet, dinner should contain from 500 to 700 calories. None of their meals come close to 700 calories, and the few that hit 500 calories barely do. Many come in the 400 calorie range. And for me personally, I would look at 2 of the meals, and think to myself, does this look like $30.98 worth of food? And the answer for me was no. Also, all these prepackaged meals are high in sodium which isn't good for anyone, but as someone on blood pressure medications, this is especially bad for me.
      Factor on the other hand has meals over 600, even over 800 calories, and 6 dinners a week, their minimum, only cost 12.99 each. Add in the shipping, and the cost would be $14.655 each, still cheaper than 5 meals a week from Fresh N Lean. However they seem to focus on keto, and their meals also contain too much sodium.
