  • National Security Adviser John Bolton delivered remarks at the Federalist Society in Washington, DC. He criticized the authority and legitimacy of the International Criminal Court (ICC) stating, "The United States will use any means necessary to protect our citizens and those of our allies from unjust prosecution by this illegitimate court. We will not cooperate with the ICC. We will provide no assistance to the ICC. And we certainly will not join the ICC." In addition, Mr. Bolton threatened ICC judges with sanctions if they attempt to prosecute Americans over alleged war crimes in Afghanistan. The ICC is an intergovernmental organization based in the Netherlands that hears cases on genocide and other crimes against humanity. Full video here: cs.pn/2CFxmRu

      @Alpha Wolf but the US jurisdiction is unwilling to so...it is like letting the nazis run the nuremberg trials. We need this outside court to properly prosecute these alleged war crimes

      This is a witch hunt and a lot of bullshit. They will claim you lied under oath when all they have is he said she said and then send innocent people to prison because of their politics.

      owen prince Meanwhile, in the real world, the corrupt criminals you blindly support are beginning to fall like flies, and the rotten crimes they are committing on a daily basis are finally being exposed. Get ready to see your evil idols in prison, deplorable. Wake up from your delusion.

      @Alpha Wolf when US military and law enforcement personnel commit crimes abroad, they must bear responsibility........they must not be allowed to break laws with impunity.......it is about fairness, international style.

    Disgraceful. Threatening a court because they want to prosecute you does not make you look innocent. I hope the ICC will not shy away but go on with their work and hold all war criminals accountable

      The ICC has no power but what the US gives it. You'd do well to remember that.

    Meanwhile the U.S operates concentration camps in foreign nations in violation of international humanitarian law, and would not hesitate to demand the extradition of foreign citizens to the U.S were they to have committed crimes against U.S soldiers/agents. One needs only to look at the scandalous extradition of the two Mexican citizens accused of killing DEA agent Kiki Camarena. Bolton's argument about the lack of separation of powers, jurisdiction or treaty basis is even more preposterous. Using Bolton's logic the U.S were not entitled to prosecute German and Japanese war criminals during the aftermath of WW2, but the U.S were certainly playing the leading role during the Nuremberg and Tokyo Trials. Throughout the 20th and 21th century no nation has been so vehement in insisting to play the role of international police, prosecutor and judge. The hypocrisy is astounding.

  • @cirrus1964

    The thing is simple. The USA, who wanted to become completely independent of the UK, were in fact mostly British tea party members, and some Dutch. Who didn't see, took all the problems existing in Europe with them, importing all exactly what already was wrong in Europe in to the newly formed state, the USA! The only difference is, the USA colonise a bit different, and as Britain has a lot of satellite states, so has the US, Israel. Or is it the other way around?

  • @cirrus1964
    @cirrus1964 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    No one has found the real issue, Britain has expelled all inhabitants from Diego Garcia. Britain who is confronted right now, to come to to The Hague as prosecuted, could mean, the right of returm by the people to their original homeland. And end any US base there!

    I wonder if Hitler had those same thought's if there was one back then. IF the american soldier and agents performed their duties then that is most definitely to be commended, however if there were instances of abuses of power or torture or anything like that, then there should be some penalties for it. It seems like chump doesn't want anybody to face the consequences of their actions. It should be seen as a show of honesty and belief in the values you have. If they did nothing wrong, let the record show that, if not however, you must then also show that you aren't willing to accept that sort of behaviour from anyone, even your own people. Crimes in war are still crimes, it makes a mockery of your justice system if you don't apply the rules to EVERYONE.
