- We still can't decide if we're buying a new or used narrowboat, so it's time for another road-trip.
Today we visited ABNB Brokerage at Crick and looked at a new boat from Stem to Stern and a used narrowboat that had a surprise inside. Colin found a donkey (he loves donkeys) and had a bit of an ASD meltdown. He'll explain more in the vlog. Also, find out if we've changed our minds about buying a used narrowboat.

"Don't hate me too much". What a thing to say. Everyone who subscribes to your channel loves you guys, so don't be ridiculous. I know you have thousands of watchers but after watching god only knows how many of your videos, I feel like you guys are my friends. I know, now that is ridiculous but you two have a talent for just being yourselves on screen and putting me at ease. Shaun just cracks me up and I admire Collin's artistic talent greatly. After starting off with your newer videos as a new subscriber in June 2020 its fun to watch the older ones to see how you got going on the Silver Fox. I know an incredible amount of work goes into these productions and I know you make a little money off them, but probably not enough for the time you spend. Cheers guys.
Cheers, Mark. Nowhere near enough is nearer the mark 😂 Thanks though! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You're both amazing. How could anyone hate you? You're an amazing couple and people should envy your relationship.
Hehe, who knows? 💜
“Don’t hate me too much” as if. You’re lovely, you both are. You’re funny, entertaining, warm, open, lovely blokes and I absolutely love watching your vlogs and following you on Twitter. Everyone has something they have to deal with. Be kind to yourself.
The inside of that second-hand boat was lovely. You both looked very at home in that one.
Thank you for another wonderful vlog x
Mandy Smith Awww... Thank you Mandy 😍
I could never hate you, Colin. Never. No need to apologize. I love going over your playlist and re-watching these early vlogs. I pick up little things I've missed on the earlier go-arounds. Thanks for all you two do. Never stop.
Aww, thanks so much Stephen! x
Never apologise for being ‘you’. We are here because of you, both of you.
💜💜💜
I've just started watching from the beginning after watching a dozen or so of your newer videos, and it's weird seeing you guys look round all of these different boats knowing where you'll end up! Loving all of them, and love seeing the ins and outs of the boat buying process!
Haha! yeah, it's weird to watch them back now.
This video goes to show that many people you see might look fine on the outside, you just don't see the chaos happening within. I started getting anxiety symptoms about 4yrs ago and had never had anything like it before though my now 30+ daughter had it since a teen. I was understanding and sympathetic but could never really feel what she did. Now I can, and do way too often.
It isn't as debilitating as it was at the start as I have learnt how to see the signs and ride it through plus I also learnt to lessen the chance of being in the situation that might trigger it. Funny thing is that if there are too many people in the aisle at the supermarket I can feel claustrophobic and it can be an issue but I am now volunteering at a community transport service taking people to medical appts etc and I love it. I have never had an anxiety issue prior to or while on shift. I enjoy it so much, that seems to really help mitigate a lot of my issues.
👍🏻
Thanks for being open. You have all my sympathy. Melting down has occurred many times in my life. Sometimes I see it coming and can back away, calm down. Mostly it comes out of the blue, and is painful for me and anyone who may be around. They don't understand and frankly how could they without any similar experiences of their own? However it is lonely and takes courage to clean up afterward with people.
Yeah, I feel bad for Shaun because he gets stressed seeing me like that. Sorry you get them too 💙
I am catching up on some of the early blogs that I missed… (what can I say, I’m a Foxes junkie) … And your amazing honesty about living with the challenges of Aspurgers Syndrome is such a combination of endearing and brave. Just wanted to tell you that. You’re an amazing and spokesperson and I don’t think you quite realize how much you are normalizing something that is still a mystery to most of us.
Thank you so much! 💜
Food for thought. Our boat is 11 years old now. We live in Leeds, and moored at Stanley Ferry for many years. We now moor in Stafford to enjoy the rings,as we both work, and live in Leeds. Last year i painted my boat, and had a old boat painter show me how to do it. We have had comments from ppl saying how well it looks. The shine is like a spray job, but all done with a brush. Point is after owning our boat for 9 years, It is worth more now than what we paid for it. No 20% vat.A nice pain job on ya boat makes it look like new.
Nice! I bet we walked / sailed past your boat many times when it was moored at Stanley.
Love how Shaun always seems to find cake wherever you go 😂 I’ve just started to watch your channel from the start and I’m liking it!
Nice one, welcome!
Honestly Colin, there is never any need to apologise.
When people have breakdowns they can be sudden or gradual, I am lucky to have a few friends who are my family now who can notice when I am on the slippery slope of a breakdown before I do and seem to have things in place to help make sure it isnt that bad for me, youre a fantastic individual and will have rough patches at times but we still care about you all the same, rough with the smooth.
5:32 I think the only thing that was missing here was a small plate and a thick slice of cake for Shaun, he looked so at home in that chair
6:13 I do love that layout of the galley, its really nice definitely something i would choose to have
The interior of the wouldnt have given a second glance boat though I am sure surprised alot of people, and I think all the isses were just maybe external tat may have just needed a touch up of paint, a nice wash down and wouldn't have looked as bad, the bird poop on the front canvas and being near the trees definitely wont have helped its case, but shows that even an old horse can still surprise you so to speak.
I like how in this video we have gone from the previous one where things were evens whether it be new or used and now we are seeing the more in favour of a new boat rather than used, and you can see Shaun's excitement of this prospect come through, whereas his features have been more or less neutral when on about a used boat, the new boat propsect you can see his excitement, and its good.
Wherever you guys go I hope people give you cake, its like a signature thing for Shaun at least, I will get to you shortly I am sure Colin for your signature thing, but sufficed to say, you're both awesome, both qwirky and fun, both real and genuine and its brilliant
Stay amazing and be yourselves, people love and care for you both for being yourselves.
Thank you, Kaiden. Glad you have a good family circle around you for support. That is so important...... Oh..... There's always cake onboard Silver Fox xxxxx
Having someone that knows you and cares about you to help you through your 'times' is very important. Keep smiling and if it takes a Frappacino (sp) the enjoy it.
I wish it was Frappuccino wether already! x
Love your openness. Never apologize for who you are. We follow you guys and love you for just being you. Honest, open and funny!💜
I actually think I know who may have bought that used one! Was it like $55,000
Thanks Ruth!
No one person is "quite right" - we are all unique and a bit odd to others. I think you are both lovely, and you were just fun to listen to. (from a Mum of a 20 year old unique and wonderful Asperges son.)
Awwwww. That made me smile. Thank you Kate :) x
Colin, I think it is very brave of you to share openly and honestly about your Mental Health issues. I am sure that you have positively influenced more people than you know, and encouraged them greatly in their personal and family struggles. I too had an anxiety attack when touring a mine in Bisbee, Arizona about five years ago, this also required me to immediately exit the mine. This sort of thing had never happened to me before, but I believe it was likely triggered by the memory of having lost my eldest brother, who suffocated in a silo at his workplace. I had also lost my father at 7 1/2 years of age, also killed at work having been run over by a huge forklift. After the anxious moment in the mine, I then began to also suffer anxiety when I would fly, and I fly often as I work for a major airline. I can say now five years later, for the most part, I believe I have beat this, largely by closing my eyes and telling myself, the fear is completely irrational, and this has worked for me. Now . . . just a few weeks ago, I rented a hire boat to travel up the Llangollen Canal and as you likely know, this canal has two tunnels. I was worried that I might have an anxiety attack going through these tunnels, especially after watching numerous youtube videos of traversing the Harecastle Tunnel. I am glad to say, that I had no trouble whatsoever, possibly because I was too busy steering the boat and trying to keep it from scraping the edge; that canal has a wicked current. I will say this though, I do worry about this possible scenario: Travelling through the Harecastle with two or three boats ahead of me, and then one of them breaks down right in the middle where the roof is barely above your head and all of us being trapped in there for hours. This I believe could cause a meltdown. I think I would lie down inside the saloon, close my eyes and listen to my Ipod to keep my mind averted of the stress. I don't know if telling yourself that the anxiety is irrational, if that would work for you or not, but perhaps by "appealing" to the rational side of your brain and taking a strong-hold of the belief that yes, I've been through this before, and I know it is irrational, perhaps this may work for you. I have to applaud Sean and how supportive he is of you. He seems to me to be a very compassionate and understanding human being. I wish you both well, and am so thankful for your videos, they are truly Top Drawer !
Thanks, Michael. Harecastle Tunnel is a pussy. If you break down, go in your boat, make a cuppa (even though you're not supposed to), open a packet of biscuits and wait while the boat in front get's towed out by the boat that didn't break down (takes minutes). Easy peasy! Unfortunately, ASD meltdowns aren't as easy to plan for, or to get out of, but they do clear eventually. xxxxx
You guys make me smile. I to get my muddles all worded up, particularly when tired or stressed, and know perfectly what I'm thinking! But seams as no one else does. Its so frustrating.
Ah, just makes you special in a good way 💜
Meltdown? Would never have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. Hope it wasn't too devastating an attack. Cheers!
We didn’t film it. xx
Hahaaaa🤣 that’s my boat! I did have a washer put in, the bed extended, a cratch & pram cover, trackers, cctv, microwave and 3 240 W solar panels, also had a cassette loo installed next to the pump out and an extension to the seating area to make it rounded, did get rid of the table and put in a glass round glass dining table instead of those bucket chairs and a matching coffe with able within the seating area, I also had some white bungs made for the port holes.. fancy poo-Ing on my loo Shaun! 🤣
Which boat?
Foxes Afloat stem to stern
@@carolynejayne121 Ah, that's brilliant! We spent a couple of hours at Crick last year talking to the guy who makes them. Really nice boat but was just a bit too pricey for us. I hope you talked them down on price? 😉 Lovely boat though! x
I won't even watch the video until AFTER I tell you that you are both wonderful. You have given me so much happiness in the last few days, since finding your channel. To avoid making another comment somewhere else, I'll say how my hubby had a brill idea for the house sale that you might use in future. So, we sold the house but we asked for a downpayment that would cover the downpayment of our new place. We borrowed money for a month, when our house took longer to sell, but as soon as we had sold our house, we were able to cover the downpayment on the new place. It was just that little floater of time, which turned out to be a one-month loan. We actually ended up buying an office space for half the price of the house we sold, and we fixed it up to our liking. A walk-in shower and separate toilet rooms! (Yes, I do want to make you just a LITTLE bit jealous, considering how beautiful your videos are!)
So now I watch the video. (I have developed a habit of allowing the vids to play with ALL of the commercials, even the stupid 30-minute long ones, and then I come back and watch the vids later and skip the longer commercials.) And diagnoses don't always help. I am hypersensitive with ptsd, and that has been mis-diagnosed as borderline personality disorder, adhd!, and a few other things. Ain't everybody somethin'! hearts, stars, and moons, to you, in a nice way, I mean.
And now that I've watched it, I'd say you were "bouncy." That kind of ice skating across things, because everything is moving too fast to focus, or a bad night's sleep, caffeine, or over-excitement. Just bouncy, not unloveable or wrong or anything bad.
Well, thank you so much, Deanya! x
You gents are wonderful! I love coming along for the ride. Thank you.
My 3yr old granddaughter is Non-Verbal Autistic and we are trying to learn everything we can about taking care of an Autistic child. Thank you for sharing your stories.
Our pleasure 💜
It always puts a smile on my face when I see the notification pop up about your video being posted, but have to admit I did shed a few tears learning about your episode. I so look forward to seeing what boat you do end up with eventually...but until then, please keep us entertained with your posts! LUVS
Don't shed tears! We're getting closer to our boat! xx
I’m binge watching your channel as the newbie and I’m loving it.
Not quite right! Colin, behave, you’re lovely! To be honest, if you hadn’t said anything nobody would have noticed.
It’s how to you communicate that things are not good for you but able to manage it so nobody would know. Except the lovely Shaun and your friends and family. Tools in the tool bag for managing life my darling! Keep doing what you’re doing, you both rock! Take care and be safe you two beautiful people 😘🙌😘
Thank you so much (great username too) 😉
Foxes Afloat my little fur ball in the pic is called Foxy so the username is after her. She’s a minx but I love 💕 her , she’s my partner in crime 😘 be safe and well 😘
You know you are a silly chap. And when you explain or try to explain things and it may seem a little muddled it still looks good. So you need not worry about that at least to this watcher of the vlogs. Yes I am sure at times it may take a little longer to complete a vlog or video I figure that you need not try to worry about it as most of us have the patience to understand the additional stress that you may be experiencing. So stop take a small break or breather and that get crackin back at it. I am sure shawn knows the signs much better than I do. So with that all said just keep at it and I do love the way you describe and articulate what you have shown us through this videos. I do like that used boat you looked at and I can see some ideas you used for Silver Fox and they were good ideas. Again thanks for sharing...Vic
Yeah, you'd think I'd get better after nearly 18 months of making them 😂
ABNB are great, so helpful. I thought both boats looked great. We went for second hand then had the boat repainted as soon as we bought it and it looks fantastic. I hope you find what you want. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Sylvia Page Yeah, we felt at home there. We were pleasantly surprised by the secondhand boat. Even with a good shot-blast and full repaint it would be within budget.
Don’t worry about it. You and Sean are both awesome and funny couple. And I love ur videos. You honesty will be seeing loads and loads of my likes and comments on ur other videos in ur playlist I’ve yet to watch.
Thank you so much!!
Hello I'm Peter I love your videos I live in Tiverton we have a canal but it's only 11 miles long thanks again for the enjoyment, all the best for Christmas and the new year.
Thanks, Pete!
Ya may not be quite right but we love ya anyway! I would not have noticed a thing, just thought it was a different English word for a sink :) Don't be too hard on yourself!! Shaun your a gem!
Thanks Meg! He really is a gem 😍
Hello Colin and Shaun, great update and love that you are sharing your decision making with us all.
One thing that Dawn and I loved is we saw our new purchase moored about 5 berths away from the pre-owned boat that you viewed, survey booked for next Monday!
Good luck with the house sale, and if we ever meet up on our travels come and share some coffee and cake!
Dale Jones Hey! Thanks for the comment. You two must be SOOOO excited! Definitely got to share a coffee and cake 🍰 Hopefully it won’t be long before we’re Afloat 👍🏻
Fabulous video! Love to know what boat you guys ending up picking... Really helpful to see your thought process as you walk through each boat as well. We are new to the world of narrow boats and so I will watch more to learn about the things to look out for and consider.
I think you’ll enjoy our story ❤️❤️
Been watching your latest videos from my Home town Northwich. So thought I would go right back and start from the beginning. Love you guys and your videos. Feel Shaun's pain about his Dad. I lost my Brother Simon to Covid back in January
Awesome, thank you!
Hi Thanku for your lovely, open & honest vlogs! I love watching your journey as it’s one I so recently made. I really like the used boat, I’m sure you could make it look just as amazing outside as it does in!
I’m sure we could. It was a lovely boat, and had loads of character. Just not sure about the quality and condition of the shell.
I don’t think any one could hate you,You 2 are a sound couple, you can see love in your eye’s.Even tho I only know you through TH-cam.People from Yorkshire are warm and welcoming. And keep these vlogs coming love watching them.If I ever get the chance to meet you I will have a beer with you 2.
Aww, thanks, Craig. Make mine a Cherry Coke 😉
No need to apologise Colin, love you guys, a recent subscriber but I am enjoying the back catalogue of the adventures you are having.
All the best for 2023!
Welcome aboard!
Why would we hate you?! Your honesty and genuineness is so refreshing in the highly curated world of social media.
Awwww thank you so much ❤️
Could never "hate" you Colin! Said it before, I think you're brave, honest and open and you help others through the sharing of your story. As for Shaun, he's a true "keeper"! I'm just about all caught up with your vlogs and have gone back to the early ones to get me "fix" of the two of you.. Take care and regards, Mark (South Africa)
Just ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A few years ago I was looking at widebeam for liveaboard. While I was at the boatyard I had a poke around a couple of narrows but they seemed too 'narrow' and clostraphobic after being on the wide boats. I was looking for the longterm and being older than you- (you're my two boys lol), I considered the freezing days with ice and having to go to the tap, pumpout and the rest, not being so nimble and the safety aspect of boarding and slipping into the water. Also being single would have its own set of challenges. I didn't want another house so now I live in a mobile home (which is just wider and shorter than the Aqualine I nearly bought) 500 yards from the sea in Dorset.
I'm pleased you took your time, checked out all the options and didn't just get the first boat you saw. I looked at about 10 boats new and used, had a long hard think over about 12 months before getting my 'land based' boat.
Love binging on your vids, you do a great job, and Colin, we all have personal mental struggles, we love you both just as you are xx
🤯
Great video guys, we love watching. Thanks for all of your encouragement we really appreciate your comments. Good luck with your house sale and search. Xx
Hey! Thank you so much xxxxxx
I find it amazing that narrow boats have radiators in them 😯 but it was the 70s when I did my cruising and times have moved on 😊
hehe! same heating systems as a house but powered bye diesel instead of gas.
I loved the amount of counter top space in the grey one! I would have a hard time choosing!
Yeah, there are a lot of nice boats out there 👍🏻
My wife and I have a 14yo son on the autism spectrum, very similar to yourself. He's rocking and rolling, living his best life already. I'm sorry you had such a late start learning about managing/embracing ASD and meltdowns, but it looks like you've figured out what works for you (both singular and plural)!
Thanks, Paula 💜
LOVE THIS!! You guys are amazing!
Thank you so much for looking after us! xx
Obviously a journey in many ways - love your content - admire the blogs - thank you x
Thank you so much!
I love how your honest….but please don’t apologise for you being you. I’m an ex army sniper with ptsd I find I apologies 3644 times a day! Your both amazing x
Thanks, Stuart! Big respect to you 👍🏻💜
Colin, you are a talented, fun man. You ARE right...just as God made you for whatever reason. If anything like my grandson, and you are, I love that boy with all my heart. He is funny, and fun, and he says the most wonderful things to me expressing his love and pride I am his Gran’ma. That means the world to me. Do I wish he was not ASD, oh yes, of course. But, he, is as precious and special as our other 3 grand children are....each one unique for who they are. YOU are unique and wonderful, too. Do not ever tell your friends to not be mad at you. If anyone is, just scroll past them.
Thank you so much Nancy! x
Dec2021….. just found you lovely 3 on utube ! ( inc. the pooch ). Loved the video on your asbergers etc. it summed up some of my mental health issues …Thanku very much !
Thank you so much, Sharon. Welcome to our channel xxxx
Greetings from California! My husband and I found your site after viewing the Netflix series. Cruising looks like so much fun that we are thinking about flying to England and doing some boating next year (hopefully after this covid thing ends and Americans can travel again) What fun! Thanks for the videos... we love them! Keep 'em coming.
Welcome guys, and thank you!
@@FoxesAfloat Sorry! I watched the videos on Amazon! After 6 months of lockdown I have watched so many videos... I get confused! Bah!
You are such a great couple and I love your vids and the great info you are sharing. I am gonna try and convince my guy to spend our honeymoon on a narrowboat. He’s from the USA so does not quite understand the concept yet, whereas I grew up by the Grand Union so have always felt a draw to canal life. Your vids are just fueling that draw! Cheers lads!
Hey Simon. Thanks for the comment. There are some beautiful stretches of the canal network that would make a lovely setting for a romantic honeymoon!
Now 'Silver Fox' is/was a lovely boat but for me personally when comparing that one with the new one you looked at here I would have gone for this one and just added the TV, WM, Solar and replaced with a diesel stove. I liked the modern furnishings and fittings on this one.
We were happy with the voices we made 👍❤️
@@FoxesAfloat Thanks for the swift reply, Shaun is that a glass or two of red wine or spellchecker? :))
Love you guys. Been watching your TH-cam videos for a while now but more recently binge watching from the very start 😁. My husband Roland and I bought our narrowboat which had been sunken and salvaged 3 years ago. It's looking loads better now but still a bit of work to be done. Take care Vicki x
Awesome! Thank you! Good luck finishing your boat! 💜
Great Vlog guys..... and for whats it's worth, when I saw the sink, it looks like a mini Belfast.. 😊👍
Yes it was!
Cruiser all the way, guys. Perfect spot for an evening drinky! Great video, as always. I've turned into quite the fan. :-D
Steven Douglas Our first fan 😂 Thanks Steven 👍🏻
Ecofan will be your next one... ;)
Steven Douglas 😂
I'm with you, I love side hatches. Really enjoying your vlogs
Thank you so much!
Entertaining and funny and lots of content. We love your vlogs xx
Floating Our Boat Thank you! 👍🏻😍
Would never have noticed your meltdown and it's a locker to me :). I actually thought you both looked more at home in that used boat. Yes it would require a bit of love on the outside but inside met lots of your wants and I love the double hatch. Shaun looked cute waving from the hatch.
Thanks! The used boat was really nice, but the amount of work needed on the shell put us off. It did seem pretty bad given the young age of the boat.
Hi guys, can totally relate to your thought process on whether to buy a secondhand or new boat. We did months of research before eventually deciding on a new build having got so despondent finding anything like what we wanted. We’ve just yesterday had our hull completed to our own design by XR&D and it was transported to Narrowboats of Distinction for fitout. See pics on Twitter @NBSeaglass. We were absolutely amazed at how affordable having NB Seaglass built by these two small businesses. Happy to give you more info if you want to DM me on Twitter
Hi Catherine.
Yeah, we've seen some cracking used boats and some gorgeous new ones. We're leaning towards a new one (as of writing this), and are visiting a few boat builders that we liked after seeing them at the Crick show.
Just checked out your Twitter, looks fantastic! That must have been nerve-wracking following it on the back of that lorry!
Colin x
We looked at several there during the crick boat show. ABNB are extremely helpful. Still like a used boat best. Any progress on the sale? Hopefully not much longer to wait guys 👍
Colin M Yeah, we felt at home at ABNB. We’re waiting for the right price buyer for the house. Not rushing, but it would be nice to be enjoying canal life with all this sunshine ☀️
The saying you were looking for is "Bless my heart, I ain't right". :D
😂😂
Wouldn't worry about saying things wrong because the sink looks like a mini Belfast sink and the wardrobe looks like a school locker in wood 😀
Haha, I guess they do :) Thanks for subscribing, Andrew :)
I’ve been watching sailing videos too (probably because I’m land locked!) and those sailors refer to every cupboard, cabinet and closet as lockers - I thought it was just a boating thing so never would have noticed - your honesty will help someone who is going through something similar, they will watch and realize “I’m not the only one” It not easy being that vulnerable, but the good it does is truly unmeasurable
New subscriber here. You were correct when you said locker. Closets are for land homes, lockers is the traditional term on boats. No worries!
Hi Shelly. Thank you for you comment. Hope you enjoy watching 👍
Love the colour of the new boat
So cool!
Geezer you don't have to worry about people judging ya. They're the ones who need to get a life. My partners son is autistic so I know exactly what you go through. If I ever bumped into you two I would give you both a big hug cos I think you're both great fellas. Keep the vlogs coming boys. I love watching your adventures. X
Awww, Nicholas! Thank you ❤️ So if some random fella gives us a hug, we know it's you 😂 x
Really enjoyed this one, looks like you are getting a better idea of what you want, don't think it will be long now 'til you are aboard.
Get that house sold! ;-)
Thanks Lesley. We're trying! x
Keeping fingers crossed for you that your dreams come true!
Thank you, Marie 👍🏻
You were right! it WAS, IS, a Belfast sink. Strange place to put one though.
😂
So exciting.
As boats are a depreciating asset I would not choose to be the first owner. A used boat has had at least one owner to do the "shake out" sorting out new boat problems and take the large depreciation hit. Also the worry of getting the first bumps, bruises and scratches to the boat are out of the way. But it's not my boat so best of luck on the home sale and boat purchase!
Thanks! Great advice :)
Great video lads 👍🏻👏🏻
Cheers Mark. Ahhhh, that long hot summer of 2018 ☀️ 😊
Where do you eat in the used boat? No dinette means I would pass on that boat. And I thought you would need a big dinette for your laptop editing etc.
Yeah, we prefer to eat at the dinette. We've had the occasional pizza on the sofa, but 99% of the time at the dinette.
@@FoxesAfloat Being all right and proper like :))
Hi guys, loving your vids, hi from Melbourne Australia, I really want to move to the UK and start my own canal lifestyle since falling in love with the canal network after watching another vlogger, once Covid is dealt with I will travel over and hire a boat to get a taste and gather some experience. I am on the Autism spectrum myself with a rare form of it known as low latent inhibition, I stress easily as well especially when I am put on the spot by someone, I am also gay but not out amongst family which makes things hard. I am proud of who I am however, and I will be keeping a lookout for you guys to shout out hello once I get my own boat.
Make sure you say hello! 👋
If your not 'quite right' then I know I fit that label, probably much stronger. Your just fine, embrace that ability to be not 'quite right'. How can you use the word hate, you're such nice guys, come on I'm enjoying your videos. :) Just like when I asked my partner "Am I always this confused and forgetful?" The answer was that I've always been like this. For you sir, Please don't be hard on yourself. You're good just as you are, just ask your partner.
Thank you, Richard. 🙏❤️
You're all right....yourmore than allright..by me anyway,,,love to you both and ***,,now Otis...XOXOX
💜💜
I double clicked the thumb down and single clicked the thumbs up 😁
Great video blog guys. I’m getting more and more tempted to buy my own live aboard…. I just need someone to share it with so I’m not lonely. Xx
You were right, on a boat the wardrobe is a locker, hanging locker to be specific.
Don’t be sold on a nice interior the hull is the most important part. Put an offer in only ever subject to survey.
Yes you’re right Jamie 👍
OMG spoilt for choice I’m sure you’ll make the write decision just keep the Vloggs coming 👍👍
Thanks Robert. Still got a few to look at. Getting excited to find ours though! x
How tall are you? I'm trying to gauge the headroom on these boats.
Colin is 5'10". Max headroom is usually between 6'2" and 6'4".
Hiya guys hope you are both keeping well I'm just wondering I'm looking at boats it's my first time what kind of things do I have to look out for when looking at narrow boats as I want to find one to live on permanently just like you have done just looking for any advice and the right advice thanks 🤗
It's difficult to give advice because all people and boats are different. The basics essentials are a. Get a good, independent survey. b. Make sure the engine, hull and electrics are in good order. c. Feel a connection with the boat 👍🏻
@@FoxesAfloat thank you so much it's just so difficult because there are so many different narrow boats sizes and styles 👍💙
Hey so you had a meltdown its not the end of the world you area great person in fact your both great people and it clearly show in your vlogs that you both clearly in love 🥰
🤯
“Meltdown frap?” Does that soothe you?
Meltdown frap, peace and quiet. Helps every time 💜
Need silver fox merch! Great vid of the virgin cruise. 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
Thank you! xxxxx March on our website www.foxesafloat.com 😉
Hi guys, question, parking your car 🚗 in a safe place, while cruising along the cut,on your fascinating epic adventures, can you tell me if ,their
Are designated parking for narrowboat users, along the canal system, without the car being vandalised, also, are their long term parking
Faculty available for storing your car, until needed,
Hi, Anthony! It varies around the country. Some moorings have parking, some don't. You can never really prevent vandalism. We had our car bumped before we sold it whilst in a quiet car park.
You two are good. Better go back to no 1 now and start at the beginning of your journey
Hi Susan, hope you’re enjoying our videos. We love a binge watcher ❤️❤️
Hate you? Perish...the...thought. 💗
💜
How tall are y’all? At 6’2”, I’m quite interested in NBs, but 5 weeks this summer on a small springer with 5’10” headroom has me cautious...
I’m 5’11” and have a few inches of headroom left :)
I liked the used boat
Yeah, we were very pleasantly surprised :)
How could we hate you for the struggles you face ... hang in there bud!
💜💜💜💜
Yay. You will soon be afloat on your boat. Can we visit for coffee and cake 😀🍰☕⛴
Campervan Tales Of course. You’ll be very welcome 🍰👍🏻
Foxes Afloat thankyou. We will make sure it happens and bring our video camera with us too. 😀
Buy used, let someone else take the hit on depreciation. Dont worry about a few scratches, you will put them on a new one anyway.
Scratches don’t worry us Mike.
How much was the boat for sale.
We were at a brokerage and saw a few. Be a bit more specific, Charles 😂
@@FoxesAfloat the one who paint job didn't look so good. But look beautiful inside.
Charles Burgess I think it was £60k
2 min in and ... I want cake!
I find it odd to hear wardrobe after calling them lockers during my 35 years as a mariner.
Mmmmmm... Cake 🍰
Why Diesel fuel is it cleaner ? cost ? what about proper hob xx
Cost of what? Lol,
@@FoxesAfloat Diesel to Coal or Wood ? x
I imagine ‘new boat smell’ to be a bit like ‘new car smell’
More like new house smell but fresh woody 🙂
We are now the proud owners of Xenia xxx
Which boat was that? The used one we looked at or the new one?
Foxes Afloat . It was the used one .
