Fantastic podcast ! Simon Dunmore is such a smart bloke, I’ve grown up with Defected from the start and feel so connected to everything he talks about. Would love him to write a book 👍
Fantastic content. Couldn't stop listening. Simon Dunmore is a hero of mine so it's great to learn more and more about his journey to give context to that status. I only found the House Culture Podcast today but already looking forward to the next episode!
Back when I was a teenager, my weekends revolved around picking up the latest Defected release on vinyl. What an incredible thing Simon built. Amazing.
I heard parts of the audio version while moving rocks 🪨 and thought this episode was so profound I had to come back here for the full sit down 🪑 thanks chaps 🤙🏽😎🖤🕺
Really enjoyable podcast .. great story and insights, & evocative for me, a west London ‘boy’ of a certain vintage … may the journey of Simon & our house community go on & on. Thanks
I only wish had stayed at Defected… the stuff coming out now is total crap. No one is putting in any effort to make new music… just a bit of sampling of old house tunes. I’m 64 and danced my 30’s years thru MOS and defected. I laugh now when I hear what’s coming out on what was the most defining record label of the house/dance scene.

Times have certainly changed. As Simon says in the interview, some traditions have been lost along the way - maybe it's about time they came back?
