I am 62 and I love your videos! My grandparents met at Berkeley over 100 years ago (1913). They both graduated and my grandpa got his law degree and grandmother got her Masters.
I don’t know why I loved the scenes in the quad, with the bell and the plane flying by, to not edit those out, to leave in the little humorous “imperfections”. It’s wholesome. I like to see the imperfections, the small problems that may arise, the relatability in struggling to find quiet.
It's interesting how everything you went through, even your college choices, and post college careers prior to TH-cam, prepared you for this moment. He is using all your experiences. None of them were in vain. He orders our steps even when we don't realize that they are being ordered. He is such an awesome and sovereign God. I love Him. Thanks for sharing. I struggled a lot at this school as a low-income transfer student of color and felt like an imposter. The school’s bureaucracy made my life hell. But I’m glad others were able to enjoy their time here :) I did find my small community that were my support in my last year. If I had to do it all over again, I think I would go back to Cal even though it was torture and I had many mental breakdowns. I learned a lot and I’m happy to have graduated. I was more happy to leave than to get my degree lol. It’s just the bureaucracy that has to change, specifically financial aid and housing departments. If you don’t come from a privileged background, this school can be hard, but there are so many students going through the same thing. You can find a lot of support here.
I'm glad you persevered. I am sure that the experience has made you stronger. The fact that you persevered through adversity show that you have a winning attitude.
You just told my story of University experience here in South Africa! EVERYTHING YOU SAID WAS TRUE FOR ME. But I came out Stronger, and yes with my Degree

I visited NorCal for my 21st birthday with friends (& my parents haha) and we ended up walking around UC Berkeley for fun. This exact walkway and gate is where I remember being asked to photograph an all-male choir from Europe! It was a beautiful campus and it was so fun learning the history behind it through your video, Anh. Also fun fact: "Fiat Lux" on the gate means "let there be light". I only got that now that I've learned a bit more latin through growing in my faith, but I thought that was a cool thing to notice this time around. Didn't notice it when I was there all those years ago!
College is not easy.. I remember back in college I had so many sleepless nights and so many trials but glad I’m done now. You had a beautiful university! Thanks for touring us around. ❤️

I went into a degree that my parents wanted me to pursue - and even though I'm not majoring in what I really, really want, it's given me an opportunity to see what I do and don't want to do with my life. Being in college is a crazy journey, and yeah, lots of us in the thick of it just want it done. But we're truly all learning about ourselves. And I can't wait to see what happens next.
I would visit this university to see a friend of mine often. This video brings up so many memories...if only I could have had this background music during these visits to get that Old Skool CW show feeling

I'm sure you're grateful your parents wanted and encouraged you to go to college. My parents told me not to. My parents said for me to just get married, have kids and get a job. I'm 55 years old and I'm proud to say I went to college regardless of my parents telling me not to. I'm not close with them like you are with yours. Im happy with my life, but I'm always looking for other work that will be more enjoyable. ❤

I still hang around my old college campus.........after 50yrs!!! lots to do in our city ....it's the vibrant artsy creative area of the metro who knows ..I could be the next senior youtuber! LOL
