Yoga is a living tradition with much to offer. Different flavors suit different practitioners. Ashtanga has a wonderful simplicity and can be practiced gently. I’m 64 and came to yoga late in life. I find it beneficial even though I am not accomplished and find even rudimentary poses challenging. The basic process of coordinating breath, bandhas, gaze and postures in a process of dynamic postures is quite powerful. I combine these elements with my spiritual practice as a Buddhist. I’m grateful for yoga teachers in all traditions who are willing to work with us older folks. I love the community aspect and feel like I am contributing just a little to a more peaceful world by taking responsibility to care for my body and calm my reactive mind. Simple, yet profound. I like your own personal commentaries as well as the interviews.

thanks for listening and taking the time to comment . i’m glad you find help in the technique and a way to progress - whether closer to Self or no-self (as in Buddhist belief!)

I’m 60. This practice has changed immensely over the last 20-30 years for me. I keep working with it as honestly as I’m able. It gives to me more than I deserve. I have no idea how Ive been so lucky to stumble in to it. May all be blessed 😊

    Great podcast!
How many times can we fall into the situation of carrying rigid ideas about the discipline we embrace, that in moments our practice can be strangled, not letting us flow or progress or explore the power of yoga beyond those rigid ideas.
Thanks a lot Adam for your time making these podcasts. Great source of information. They for sure have helped me to establish a better relationship with my body and my energy.

yes, it’s funny how a method formulated as framework to help us grow, ends up leaving us seriously ‘pot bound’ but it happens it seems in every tradition! glad to hear the podcasts have been helpful on your journey and always let me know if there’s a subject or guest you’d like to hear more about/from
