2020 was the last year they were selling new 124s in the US. Love my '17 Classica. Purchased it partially hoping it's short family branch off the long, loved Miata heritage would increase its value later. Mopar, Japanese, Italian mash-up
Hopefully they will go up in value like the Honda S2000 did. I currently own a 2017 Abarth Spider (I rarely drive it; only on dates and summer weekend nights). I love that car and I'm glad I got it. I don't really see many of them on the used car market (mostly the standard Fiat version). So I think there is a good chance it may go up in value in the next 10 years or so.
I have a 124GT in heritage white and black red leather inside Bose system ....all the works ..love it ...waiting to sell for min £50k sterling as only 50 in UK
I bought a 2020 a bath 124 for 30,000 with 200 miles on it it had been stolen from a dealership for discounted about $7000 it’s staying in the garage for a long time.Black exterior gunmetal rims and black leather with 2000 miles
Just put a deposit down on one - don't expect to keep it long enough for it to appreciate, but it shouldn't lose too much due to rarity/desirability is my hope. On another note @stef_abtv, I would seriously consider getting a harness for Rolo, to attach the seatbelt strap to rather than his collar, as it could cause neck issues if you have a crash/emergency stop.
I have a 2018 Abarth, I love it and drive it only on sunny days. I have noticed that the manual transmission models are worth more I just hope it keeps its value
1st car Owned a tangerine 76 fiat x1/9 bertone Abarth in 1994. For $1,200 Love at first sight! Got a dodge dart in 2014 because.... Fiat. Loved that car! Wanted to go electric in 2019.. so I got a 500e and loved it! (I did miss the engine and tailpipe action!) This american has lived fiats since she was a kid.BIt doesn't matter if it's fast, there's mods for that. I know it'll be worth more in the future (can't find any X1/9's that don't have rust damage and I've been looking for the past 15 years.) They're so much fun to drive!
When I bought my Abarth 124 last October there were 70 for sale on Autotrader. Today there are 37. Will wager by September there will be less than 20. Prices def wont reduce whatever about increasing.
I have no doubt at all these are a future classic and will only end up going up in price the fact their are less of them will only go on to help prices go up quicker.
I think it will. I have an 18 Auto Abarth Spider with Nav, Bose, Heritage+Visibility Pack with only 9k miles and as new. I've the carbon roof also ordered. Car is only driven at weekend and under roof. I expect it will be collectors item within few years. It gets more attention than a Porsche.
They are already rising in value in Ireland and on the continent. Its only in the UK prices seem a bit stagnant but then Fiats were never popular there. Great for me to buy a nice one in the UK though and bring it back to Ireland - which I just did.
Stef..Writing you from Turin, Italy. OK, people here are mad about Abarth but...FYI, in the local trade now it’s impossible to find an Abarth 124 for less than 28k€. Top notch 124 GT with carbon fibre hardtop sell at 35k€..clearly different markets!
l couldnt agree more, 124 Abarths her in Australia are holding value well. Most 124 spiders here were well optioned l paid $45,000 in april 2017 for my car which was a good deal at the time. Similar cars are selling now if you can find one for around $35,000. Not bad as most cars here drop around %50 in value after 4 years.
I think the price curve on the Abarth 124 will be more Honda S2000 or BMW M Roadster, and less Miata or early Boxster. They've never been common enough to be a "throw away" car. Fairly low production numbers, and despite being reliable, efficient, and well-mannered day to day, it's still a fairly raw sports car and offers an experience most cars don't. Not to mention they look and sound excellent.
I do love these cars and id love to get my hands on one in a few years, but I’m ultimately desperate for an abarth punto evo. SO hard to find an untouched one with the sabelt seats package, though :(
In April I purchased a "brand new" 2018 Abarth spider with102 miles and all the options for $29,600 the sticker price was $39,600. I'm keeping this forever.
@Stef AB Money isnt all, i enjoy my 2016 F124 Spider Lusso as a daily the whole year. Keep it propper maintained and you have the fun of your life. Sure its nice to see it go up in value but my fear is that all are gone, hidden in some garage under tarp. So i drive my daily. Close to the 50oookm. It seems many people dont even know about that car. Im "personalising" my car by now. Did made a very crued video about the beginning. Dont judge me, i`m german with an japanese car, disguised as an italian car. What can go wrong? Best of luck to you and your dog. ... and there are currently 63 on one popular car selling site for sale ;)
Love your content, love the car, but I can't help being a pedant as pronunciation is so important to me. People take what they hear as gospel on TH-cam and may think Bosay is how you pronounce Bose. It isn't. Take the "ay" off it's just Bose as in hose or rose. Amar Bose founded the business in the early 60's I believe. Don't even get me started on AbarTH😉 Sorry, can't help myself but I cringe whenever you say it on your vids. Once again, and more importantly, love what you do👍
Stef, I’ve got a 9,000 mile 124, without vis pack or Bose. Don’t feel any need for them. The car is just as entertaining with or without them. Just waiting for restrictions to end to put some more miles on it. Keep up the great content.
Trying to predict future car values is a complete gamble. Whereas predicting that taxes will rise a lot once the 2030 all electric law comes in is basically certain. Look at Norway, the reason most of their new cars sold are electric is because taxes have forced people into EVs because they’re cheaper. Over there the Taycan is the cheapest Porsche you can buy by quite a margin. That will have to happen over here as well, the government want people in EVs and the only way they can do that is making them cheaper. I say people should just enjoy the shit out of our internal combustion cars while we still can and stop hiding them away in garages worrying about investments
One should not forget that electric cars and car restrictions in cities will probably change the rules of the market very soon. Enjoy your car now and do not think about that!
Besides the obvious meat and potatoes Chrysler lineup, including all badges and subdivisions of the Mopar bloodline, Stellantis now has a grip on Fiat, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo, and those were not over produced. Also, with the supposed shutdown of SRT laboratory, people can finally branch out from drag race type power, for more circuit-type dialing, which is better on gas, and may prevent them being swallowed by sudden escape from driving talent, like the burnout machines can do too easily, with the immense structure and block weight involved. By stopping production, they can make new moves, hopefully stop with parts inventoried to keep the purchased ones rolling, and initiate the law of supply and demand, so dealerships have a chance of making profit, also. The gradual, electric vehicle curtain is ever so slowly creeping up like some manufactured eclipse of that nice space in human history where we got off horses and commuted in explosion processor powered living rooms, of all different styles and purposes. So get a reverse jet engine and combustion engine hybrid with a manual or automated paddle shifter transmissions, while they make street legal golf carts...mandatory.
Sorry to disappoint you stef but no your 124 spider isn't going to be worth a fortune in the future, fiat group cars historically tend not to fetch big values unless they are really old.

100% on the trim level point. Got frustrated with the available ‘upgrades’ and chopped in for the 124 in 2019 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah you are not the only one mate. A good few are doing it now
Cool vid as always ! My dad owns a 124 and me a 595 competizione so i guess we’re good😂❤️
Haha yep you are :)

To get top money....low miles....and bog standard....nice to see Rolo...what a star 👍
🙌🙌

Stef, I live in the US and on cargurus right now there are 347 124's for sale nationwide, of those there are 149 Abarth 124's left for sale.
The dealership in Cincinnati had huge markdowns on new ones since December and had about 40 plus on the lot!
That’s defo not a lot for nationwide in the US. Thanks for sharing US data 🙌
We were going to buy an MX5 until renting a 124 off Turo last year. Would be happy if they went up in value, but can't see getting rid of mine!
Keep on enjoying Stef👍🇦🇺
🙌🙌🙌
There's 7 for sale here in Oz starting at $33,000 (£18,000)
Mine is currently at 13000 miles-Im crossing my fingers she'll be worth a pretty penny someday 😁😁🤞🤞
🤞
Will the classica or lusso be worth anything? Probably have to be low miles. Will they hold up reliability wise like the Miata?
Stef..Writing you from Turin, Italy. OK, people here are mad about Abarth but...FYI, in the local trade now it’s impossible to find an Abarth 124 for less than 28k€. Top notch 124 GT with carbon fibre hardtop sell at 35k€..clearly different markets!
Very different markets indeed! Much more demand vs supply out in Italy for them

True Mate, they surely retain their value. I bought one for $40k, with 35k km on it. She's a 2017 white, immaculate.
Hey mate , have u got ur timing belt changed yet ?
I remember my dog hated to sit in my Elise especially with the roof down 😂
Love the straight man.... obviously Rollo is impressed ....or likes the heated seats. Still love the car.
Bro there's only 1 available 124 in my country, these babies are rare
More i see this 124 more i like it! I think it will be soon a classic
A class of its own
High5 nice ;) Also got a Spider,so cool car.
I wish I could find one for 15k there going for 22k now with 80k miles on them
To be fair i think these cars will go up in value one way or another.. you don't see them very often! Kind of similar to the Awesome 4C you owned!
I think the price curve on the Abarth 124 will be more Honda S2000 or BMW M Roadster, and less Miata or early Boxster. They've never been common enough to be a "throw away" car.

Sounds better, keep the boy racer pops and bangs off....they sound so naff 👍
🙌
Defo better with wee rolo ❤️❤️❤️
Haha yep
The other option that in my opinion is a must is the heritage pack.
Stef inflates 124 price after this video😜
😂😂😂😂
God that bloody exhaust racket would drive me crazy within a few minutes. What a way to wreck a soft-top experience...
I see the 124 becoming a classic but way after the current owners have sold theirs
Yeah agree
Deffo better with the pops'n'bangs!

@@seanin1990 good work man! Sounds incredible, the spider is definitely on my wishlist
Nice dog review

What about the 2.4Shumacher,will it be worth more in future as they only made 200 in this country
The fiat 124 is too closely related to the Miata to become a classic/appreciating car. Anyone remember the Cadillac XLR?

How many Abarth 124 were build?
Not sure! Not that many
@@StefABtv on abarth Web page there is only info that 2500 pcs of Abarth 124 2016 edition were built.
You need some Punto content 🤔
I know mate. Hopefully from the 12th onwards we can start booking some cars in

Agree, from an entertainment perspective the options make no difference. Any 124 will be fun to drive
I'm in love with this car, but my banker refuses 😟

Mine already has over 34000 miles, so it is not gonna be holding any value at all. I bought it to drive it!
Yeah mines 33500. Does it a disservice not driving them!
Oh yeah man. I’m not holding this car for ££ I bought it to enjoy driving it as most people did
There will be no 2021 124 model in the US.
That’s the modified exhaust right
Yeah sport cat
Dogs a star by the way!!!!!
Haha thanks
Well hopefully there will be a similar price effect with classic spiders lol
They stopped production of the fiat 124 spider in north America
Good luck with your investment. In the meantime enjoy the 124.
🙌🙌
You can hope but I doubt you will be able to retire on the proceeds.
Defo not 😂😂😂
Tell your pup I said hi.
Haha 😂
Omg get them yellow indicators off lol get the nice colour tone ones flash yellow but look better than yellow lol
the first time I took my dog in my 124 abarth he shit himself ... never again🤣
😂😂😂
