Great helpful video as always. I sold a medium sized limited edition cat print framed with glass and I photographed each stage of packaging - lots of bubble wrap, foam pieces to protect the corners, 3 layers of thick cardboard & poly wrap and then then I messaged the buyer with the images of each stage of packaging in reverse so they knew what to expect and received really good feedback. It would also have helped if it was broken to prove how it was packed. Probably went a bit overboard but I enjoy packing parcels and would rather be safe than sorry!
Hi Faye and Simon, Great video and thanks for sharing your knowledge. We have also found the value in art, back in January we purchased an auction lot that happened to have some pictures in and were really surprised at the value so we took a brave pill Lol (as we were always a bit worried about sending frames in the post) and listed them and have not looked back. Every auction we now look at auction lots with just art in as we have been shocked as to how much can be made. Thanks so much for all of the information you supply on your channel and take care you two. Love Paul & Marie. Xx
Really enjoying your videos these days. This was fascinating. I know quite a lot about art, but everything I like everybody else seems to hate and it does not sell LOL
Enjoy all your videos but this one was especially helpful, I’ve been concerned about selling a number of pictures that I no longer want but now I’m going to list them, thank you so much for the info 😊
Fun fact: I. Cafieri/Irene Cafieri (caff-ee-air-ee) may not be a person. The consensus is that it's one of many fronts for a 20thC art 'factory' in Hong Kong. Since Hong Kong reverted back to China, the factories have moved to Dafen, part of the Shenzen region. In its hey day, it's thought that Hong Kong produced at least 60% of the world's oil paintings. Regardless, I love them and currently have two in this house - as well as a massive one in the old house. If you need to look inside the frame, for whatever reason and replacing the tape , please don't use masking tape, use water activated craft tape or framers tape instead, it's not as acidic and won't bubble or peel off. Also, we are currently on the hunt for a large painting of a galleon ship, should you happen to come across such a thing ❤
Excellent, I have a few lots of bulk art that I want to bid on this Monday so its great to see this video. I wonder how many envelopes of cash and deeds are hidden behind the backs of some of these paintings lol. If I ever found one I know I would have to be taking them all apart :)
@@Married2Reselling Actually it was quite funny, We won 11 paintings and as soon as we saw the invoice and noticed we had won them we both looked at each other exclaiming we are art dealers now lol.
Ha ha! I haven’t got anything to film at the moment. I’m just finishing off listing the last of the massive lot I filmed a month ish ago. I will get back to the auction asap I promise and I will make sure I film what treasures I find. Thanks for watching! X
Thanks again for another interesting video you started me selling ceramics instead of clothing which is going really well. I have bought around 40 pictures to dabble in art cheers
I do a fair bit of art. Amazing how many people just ignore it completely. Not sure if they just don't know values or they are worried about packing them.
Great stuff some very interesting info. I find art that I consider crap often sells well and excellent stunning art can take ages to shift There’s no accounting for taste !
Shhh…..don’t let people in on the secret that art is a great niche 😅in all seriousness, if you get it right it’s great money and a lot of resellers ignore it. Packing it is a pain, but I have it completely down now - I even sent a gigantic 1960’s oil painting to Australia. You can tell a lot about the age of the art from the style of frame too sometimes - for example, mid century frames are quite distinctive for example. But the actual image itself does really sell the picture.. I tend to ship the really over size ones with Parcelforce. It's a very good tip to shrink wrap to protect whilst stored - I probably do need to do that!
We’ve done a few over the years, from mugs to full dinner sets. There’s definitely some packing of a few different items in this one th-cam.com/video/8iS9KsaDYdE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AjmVIy8AENydNAqS
We tend to use UPS for the more expensive stuff, just for peace of mind, they’re easy to deal with if there’s any problems, and the app helps. But in terms of claims it’s kind of irrelevant because we can never prove the cost of something, so we only ever claim for the cost of the postage if things go wrong.
In this video, we share everytihng we can remember that we've learnt selling art in the last couple of months.
Great video & thoroughly advice - thanks Guys. 😊
Thank you ☺️
Thanks for this, I definitely need to broaden my horizons from still life!
Wonder what the attraction is 🤔👀 🤣
Only just found your channel and I love it, great content 😁👍
Glad you enjoy it!

😆 oh well, at least someone’s getting enjoyment from those pictures 😁
Refreshing!
I really enjoyed that! Lovely "to the point" presentation, and you really didn't come across as beginner's. Cool stuff!
Thanks so much!

Go for it!
Thanks for this video, assuming high postage cost was holding me back from buying art tbh, I’ll definitely look into art more now
UPS have been great for us

Sounds great! GOOD LUCK!!! Good luck 🤞 🤞🤞

I should think it’s the packing for most
Simon looking very red in this video 😂
😳
Great video BTW 😊
Thanks 😁
Great video as always. I recently sold a picture that was purchased by the artist . I do put masking tape on the glass incase it does get broken.
Good idea

Exactly, makes it all the more interesting 👍
Great tips thank you.. you mentioned another video showing packing art but I cannot find it?
Thanks, it’s this video, from around 9:20 th-cam.com/video/G3jmFTnF6wM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fmRg6AMoktBKBOEL
Really good video
Thanks!

We’re loving the new category! Same with everything I think, once you’ve packed one or two it’s a doddle!
Great vid, especially the tips on packing. Have you done a packing ceramic/pottery video? I can’t seem to find it 😢

General question - would you not use RM 48/24 for an item like the book when they cover up to £150?
It’s very hard to claim loses with RM. In my own experience.
