@@NickAndersonCreative I think Preferred Club is worth it, personally. The Preferred Club pool is very nice and more quiet and Rosewater is a wonderful restaurant, plus you get some extra amenities in your room which adds to the pampering! The only thing that wasn't open when I was there was Desires, the nightclub. They also were not have a ton of organized activities during the day, but there were still a few.
This is my girlfriend’s favorite resort, she loves the service here. I also think it’s one of the top resorts, we’ve stayed here at least four times. We’ve come to punta cana at least 4 times a year for the last 5 years and stayed in many resorts.
It is beautiful. In September? Watch out for seaweed in that season. Not something I care about cause I don’t really go to that beach. Just making you aware ☺️
Great video Miss Colleen. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.
I would also add that along with cleaning the seaweed from beach there also is a seaweed wall in ocean that keeps most of seaweed away. Went in October and had a blast will be back to secrets cap cana
Great video! Glad you got to enjoy during Covid. My husband and I stayed there when they first opened a few years back and loved it so much we went again. We also shot some footage as well :)
We had our honeymoon here! Our wedding was on 10/17/2020 and we were initially supposed to go to Jamaica, but at the time we were not vaccinated and had to have a PCR test done before going. In the beginning, PCR tests took 3-5 days, and we were supposed to leave on the 19th. So had no time to get one. Luckily, our agent thought fast. DR had released all restrictions on THE 18TH (or 17th) OF OCTOBER! She booked this resort for us and it was perfect! We still got a test done to be safe. We were still very nervous about Covid, but because of prior Covid restrictions, it wasn't many people there at all. We enjoyed every minute of it and were able to social distance easily!
This was an amazing video . Going next week and many videos on here are not useful, or feature themselves on video most of the time, or playing obnoxious music . This made me really get a feel of the property. I love that cocoa cafe is open 24 hours!! Did you get any spa services? I heard not the best spa with very high prices with no specials going on ...
The spa is pricey, which is pretty typical for any of the AI resorts, but I did think their service was great. You can usually get a deal if you do more than one service and they often offer resort credit/coupons towards spa services. It is not too expensive to purchase just a Hydrotherapy Pass for the day which gives you access to that area of the spa. It is very nice and relaxing! I love Coco Cafe! Glad you liked the video.
Cap Cana is definitely more elegant and updated in feeling and decor than Royal Beach. Food and service are going to be mostly the same at either, but Cap Cana has the edge for luxury feeling.
My husband and I went in September 2020 and loved it. The swim up bar was open at that time. We’re heading back again and wanted to ask where we could find information on when the swim up would reopen.
Lovely video!! Very complete!! I would like to ask you a question: did you have to make a Covid swap in the Hotel to get back to your country? Was it difficult to coordinate?
Hi, thank you fot the beautiful video. I would like to ask you wich is the time to visit hotel because we wont be there in tropital storms time. What do you think about september and october? Please can you recomend one or two hotels which are olso good ( beach,...). Thank you for answer. Saša
Hello Thank you for the great video. I am going to Secrets Cap Cana in December and have a question about the electrical at the resort. Are the outlets in the resorts the same as in the United States or do you need some kind of adaptor or converter to safely plug-in electric devices (phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes, etc), and if so what kind? Thank you
Did you find all the different covid restrictions took away from it? Theyre totally necessary obviously, im just looking at booking here or another secrets in Mexico and I'm trying to decide whether we should just hold off until there's less restrictions
I honestly did not. If anything I would say it might make the resort a little more low-key, with not as many activities planned throughout the day. But otherwise I did not feel like it was any different. I found it to be very relaxing and I was able to almost feel like things were normal again and we could really enjoy ourselves.
Yes! That is a great question! The restaurants all have vegetarian, with many being vegan, and gluten free options. And if you have any food allergies or restrictions the staff is super helpful and accommodating. They will ask you when you first sit down about any special needs. I recently traveled with someone who has Celiac disease and they even created her a separate, custom meal at one of the restaurants at a different Secrets resort location in Mexico.
The Preferred Club section has it's own pool, bar, and restaurant, as well as a dedicated part of the beach. During Covid the Preferred Club Lounge was closed, but typically they would have refreshments and snacks available there throughout the day. With Preferred Club you also get a more dedicated Concierge who can assist you with anything you need during your stay, including arranging dinners, excursions, spa treatments, etc.
There are many wonderful resorts in the Dominican Republic, but which one is best will depend on what you are looking for in a resort. Some have more activities while others are more romantic. Some have more of an emphasis on being eco friendly or having locally sourced food, while others might have a better beach or better pools. When I work with my clients to choose a resort I first will find out as much as I can about what is important to them so I can guide them to the right resort. :-)
Great Vid 👍 how was the commute from the airport to hotel: time estimated: were COVID protocols in place , were room fully cleaned according to COVID protocol, thanks
The commute from the airport was not too long, about 25 minutes. There were many Covid protocols in place. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned and then sealed before you arrive. Remotes and the tablet in the room were sanitized and put in sealed bags. There are several handouts in the room detailing the cleaning protocols. They took your temperature when you arrived and gave you hand sanitizer. Your luggage is sprayed with disinfectant before they deliver it to your room. During check in you have to complete a health questionnaire. Whenever you entered a restaurant they required you to use hand sanitizer. Tables were socially distanced. All staff wore masks at all times. There was additional cleaning going on all over the resort. Hope that helps! I’ve visited four All Inclusive Resorts in the last five months and I felt that all of them did a fantastic job keeping guests safe.
Hi- do you happen to know the name of the movie/documentary that was always playing in the lobby/rooms? There were videos of different animals and a narrator with a mellow voice. It was so soothing. I was there over a year ago and can’t figure out the name of the film. I’ve emailed the resort multiple times but no luck.
Do you mean excursions? There are many excursion options you can do in this area and most are available right now. You can either book them ahead of time or when you get to the resort. My recommended company to use is Amstar and they will have representatives at the resort to help you book excursions too.
Wat did u eat for lunch n dinner.... If u couldn't eat at the main entrance. So I hey expects us to starve after the only money we paid. It's supposed b all inclusive. Food for lunch n dinner not just breakfast then wat after u do activists and go on the beach most ppl get real hungry at that time
Looks fantastic just one Q. Is it worth upgrading to the preferred option ?

Is it worth it if you’re not a preferred club member ? & is their dress code for the restaurants?
How do they determine those thatvare preferred and those that are not?
