Senator Shehu, you have been a patriotic Nigeria, I pray that God will one day put you in a political position where you can put your knowledge to help the nation.
You are one of the people who fought for this democracy and unfortunately, the people who are benefiting today are people who don't have the interest of the nation at heart. May God give you more years and good health to be able to contribute to nation-building.

Point of correction, with all due respect, Distinguished Senator. Shehu Sani. Federal government is not increasing Taxes, but Federal government is reorganising Tax Reform Bills as an effective and efficient administration of taxation in Nigeria. Multiple tax regimes are subjected to looting of tax revenues and leakages areas discovered in the Nigeria taxation system. Secondly, the Tax Reform Bills is aimed at making those Tax evaders come into the Tax net by inclusively participating in Tax giving rather than evasive taxes. The Tax Reform Bills would facilitate effective and efficient service delivery for revenue generation for socio-political and socio-economic development paradigm shifts in Nigeria. With sufficient funds for development, Nigeria will be able to free herself from the World Bank and IMF slavery for its best times.

This bill has really exposed the very low intelligence of our northern representatives by the way some so called respected leaders have approached the bill

Instead of all this wahala, why not allow each state to charge VAT in it state as it want, like in the USA some state do not charge VAT(sale tax) while others charges more than others and every state keep whatever it receive, for example i leave in new York but because of VAT which is 8.35 in nyc i will trave almost 2-3 hours to Delaware to buy cloths for my family and no VAT in that state
so each state should charge what it wishes, if lagos charge too much i will go to kebi or kano or ogun and buy stuff i want
some state do not charge state income tax just to encourage people to come and settled in their state, Nigeria state governors should be patriotic and start thinking outside the box

There's nothing like Tax reform. The more money you borrow the more tax is increased to pay up with interest
