You probably have heard this from the 2001 movie, _Donnie Darko._ The original came out in 1982 by Tears for Fears. The lyrics were brilliant, but the music was fast and poppy. For the movie, they kept the lyrics but slowed it down and gave it a haunting melody. So in effect, Pentatonix' did a cover of a cover. I love it though

Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voice Play are all at the top of the a cappella game. Very different styles, but they each shine. They are not the barbershop a cappella from my youth. Full rich harmonies and top of the line sophisticated arrangements. Might want to investigate Pentatonix "Radio Active" featuring Lindsey Sterling" Voice Play "My Mother Told Me" and Home Free "May Day". These three groups blew me away much like I see them affect you. Surprise and awe at their talent and versatility.

Actually, your filter is one of the nicest I've seen because it's so thin. Great reaction, as always. If you've heard Kiiara's "Gold," Pentatonix do a great cover that leaves the original in the dust. Kiiara had to use digital effects to get the sound that Mitch does just with his voice. Plus, Avi throws in a couple of base drops that are subterranean!
Thanks for reacting to this song, I knew that you would enjoy this one! They put this song out in 2020 which was perfect timing on their part considering how crazy our country is right now. I think the song Imagine that they covered shows where they stand on certain things and I have so much respect for their version of it, and the original as well. I always wished that I was musically talented as I admire those who are so much! But I realized that I am blessed with loving music and the way it touches my soul. Not everyone gets that from music, music has been a part of my life since I was 14 years old. Music is one beautiful common interest in human beings which is why it is so fun to watch other's reactions to really good music they are hearing for the first time. ♥
Their newest song called 'Prayers for this world' is similar in vibe to this, I think you'd really like the message it has, especially with the current global problems. Whilst it is not an original rather a song written for Cher to sing in a documentary, she never officially recorded it and the world forgot about the song. PTX found it and made it their song (I don't know if they changed any lyrics but definitely how the song goes) and the songwriter loved it so much that she gave them the song so now it is officially theirs! It's extra poetic as Kirstie recorded her vocals for the song when she was 36 weeks pregnant so that wasn't easy to do and the message hits harder with her and Kevin both having daughters now. Kevin's daughter was born during Covid and Kirstie's daughter was born last June.
You should react to some of Kevin's solo stuff. He literally becomes a one man band and uses loop machines. I'd recommend his cover of "Down" or "Sign of the Times"
Sorry for double commenting, but I am so looking forward to your reaction to Aha! Singapore when you get to it. It’s recorded live at a concert on a cell phone but it is just breathtaking and considered by many/most to be Mitch’s finest performance. You want to talk about high notes! This guy has only been reacting to PTX for a short time, the other guy was reacting to PTX for about 4 months and he admitted that he wasn't ready. I love watching reactors get hit with the ultimate Mitch slap, but I also try to advise them to see their dr first and make sure they don't have any health issues, and to install a seat belt. I've seen reactors jump out of their chairs and clutch their chests. The Avi gut kick starts the shock and the ultimate Mitch slap finishes them off.

This is a great video, I think TH-cam blocks videos that don’t have enough brakes, to prove you not just downloading to use publicly. Matt can never replace what Avi did but, He brings something great and beautiful to the group. It was hard for the fans to see Avi go but, we all have loved his replacement. He adds a new flavor to the group. Pentatonix knows what they are doing. They made a good choice for his replacement. I just wish Avis career was a huge solo career but, his style has changed so much now that we don't recognize him anymore. I love his hit solo song Change on the rise. It was beautiful. Don't know if you have come across it yet but, it's worth listening too. He also did a cameo with Home Free on their song, Ring of fire. Home Free is a country group. I dig them as well.

Hi, I’m a new subscriber and a big Penatonix fan, (which bought me to you), So I’m along for the ride. This is a great video, I think TH-cam blocks videos that don’t have enough brakes, to prove you not just downloading to use publicly. (So maybe try bohemian Rhapsody again, with a few more chat brakes) I don’t mind the brakes so much, there not long and your so happy it’s infectious. That rabbit hole is very deep, I really hope you stay until you reach the bottom, (hoping that it’s bottomless). Thank you so much for sharing xxx

Matt can never replace what Avi did but, He brings something great and beautiful to the group. It was hard for the fans to see Avi go but, we all have loved his replacement. He adds a new flavor to the group. Pentatonix knows what they are doing. They made a good choice for his replacement. I just wish Avis career was a huge solo career but, his style has changed so much now that we don't recognize him anymore. I love his hit solo song Change on the rise. It was beautiful. Don't know if you have come across it yet but, it's worth listening too. He also did a cameo with Home Free on their song, Ring of fire. Home Free is a country group. I dig them as well.
