I've never really listened to jd vance outside of him politicking, but listening to him tell the story about his best buddy going up to a random family and giving a crying kid shit over a football game was interesting.
If you're not involved in The Game, you have no idea how tempered this is. You don't buy a blue car. You don't wear blue anything before thanksgiving. You don't type the letter after L. And you sure as shit don't root for fucking Xichigan even if they're playing Iran. Because we don't give a damn for the hole state of Xichigan. And the feeling is xutual.
As a lifelong Michigan fan that grew up in Ohio, I can say that JD's friend went easy on that kid. Those fans are barbarians. I hate OSU, but JD has my vote for VP and hopefully in 2028 for president!
My Aunt lived in Michigan and as a joke got my dad a Michigan sweatshirt for Christmas. When he opened it Christmas morning, he opened the box,saw what it was, straight into the burning fireplace. Yea, its like that.
Ost fans come to UM, we give each other crap all in good fun, UM fans go to Ost for the game you have to put a Go Ost sign in your car windows or you may come back to flat tires after they see the Michigan plates, smashed windows, dented fenders...TRUE STORY I've seen it happen many times.

Right away I said Ohio State or Cleveland medical center. He looked at me like Wtf. He proceeded to tell me graduated from Michigan and that's where he wanted to for treatment. He was serious. I Was too! Ultimately it was my choice and of course I stayed with our home team. And he kept me as a patient locally That is truly how strong the rivalry is.
You have Cleveland Clinic and James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State. There is nothing between those two that compare in terms of care when it comes to cancer.

I used to be a diehard Buckeyes fan…missed weddings and other events that were scheduled the same time as an OSU game, had crazy game day rituals and superstitions, all the wild stuff us football fans do. The emotions you get from a sports team are unparalleled. Now hopefully the Lions can bring me the same feeling.

I remember years ago there was some countdown show on Fox Sports and they were ranking the top 10 college football rivalries. Michigan versus Ohio State was number one, number two was Notre Dame versus everyone else. Hard to argue.
I've been to 4 Michigan Ohio State games. 3 in Ann arbor and 1 in Columbus. I didn't think I've ever seen the sort of hostility that he described at either location.
Being as Michigan fan in Happy Valley is a different story. Those people are nuts.
