My personal theory as to why alela isnt the face commander is simply she was the face commander the last time we were in eldraine. Since it seems we wont get commander retrains for most of the others at the time (i see you korvold), they probably decided to swap positions of the face commander to avoid potential discourse.
I'd have to agree. Tegwyll is the Face Commander just to hide that Alela is getting a new card while Chulane & Syr Gwyn are not. There is also that Korvold in packs. There is something to be said for having both a lord effect and card draw in the command zone, but nothing in the deck really enables his draw trigger. Unless you want to use your board wipes as draw spells, the only ability you have to sacrifice creatures in the whole deck is Rankle. Then for Alela, with 16 instants and a handful of flash creatures, seems to be supported by the deck's construction a lot heavier.
Tegwyll should have drawn when a faerie etbs on an opponent's turn. Or just... give faeries Flash. Several of these cards I'd be more inclined to play in Rogue tribal.
I plan to pick this up and immediately swap the commander to Alela, Artful Provacatuer, throw in white instants and some other flash synergies and just roll with it as Esper draw-go. making cuts will be hard, and some of you may die, but that's a sacrifice i'm willing to make.
I’m planning on picking up and upgrading this deck, though I’m probably gonna make Obyra the commander and make a flash/draw go deck around Alela similar to Nymris.
Tegwyll as a face commander is weird. The only thing I can think of is that some of the most iconinc faerie cards involve sacrifice in some way: like Bitterblossom which creates tokens to sacrifice, Glen Elendra Archmage and Puppeteer Clique which have persist so they come back, and Rankle and his mean pranks of course. Not sure how you would even build him as a commander (maybe there's some kind of faerie / Ashnod's Alter combo out there). Alela is so much more thematically appropriate as a tribal leader. She is very cunning so maybe she's letting Tegwyll take the spotlight, while she is a true faerie mastermind behind the scenes.
About Misleading Signpost (11:40). I'm a two headed giant game, can I select that opponent A attacks opponent B? (teammate) Seems to be worded in a way that that's true, only says can't in reminder text but I have to ask because it's just reminder text)
I have a few thoughts on the precon; First of all, hell yeah faerie tribal but also I can't help but notice some staples like spellstutter missing from it which is odd to me. People have been complaining about bitterblossom not being in it but that was expected when it was previewed in the extra sheet. Second, this is a precon deck that can go infinite and has a pay off already inside it but that's expected with cloud faeries and hullbreaker in the deck. I plan to pick one up but highly recommend whoever is doing the same to put in a spellstutter sprite, rn it's fairly cheap but that might change quickly
I was thinking about an esper faeries deck with a heavy artifact subtheme and old Alela at the helm and adding faeries like tegwyll, new alela, scion of onna, obyra, nettling nuisance, blade crafter, raise the palisade and such, it's an Idea on my head, do you think it may work?
I'm excited. I've wanted to build faeries for a while, but I felt the tribe was kinda sparse. There are four legendaries in this deck, and each suggests a different way to build it. Tygwyll feels the odd man out, but a good part of the 99. Thrilled to see more Lord's for the tribe. Personally, I think Obyra is a little higher on my radar than Alela. Pinging each time you play a faerie feels a bit more solid than sparse token generation. Gives you a win con for bouncing back and duplicating your faeries. Lots of good generic flying support (Donal sounds like a fun include here too!) Or maybe a heavy ramp Oona deck.
So happy to see Kindred Dominance see a reprint in a precon. It was stupidly expensive for so long, and it's finally on the list of cards that are considered safe to reprint frequently.
honestly the precon is kinda mid but the new faerie support in the core set that you can replace other cards with is where I think this deck will shine. there are a lot of decent looking faerie support cards in this set in general that are probably commander level playability. At least with Alela it looks that way given there are some instant speed faeries with adventures to activate her ability.
out of all the new cards, only one faerie had flash....so disappointing. I was also hoping for more bounce effects to take advantage of fae who tap down creatures or counter cards when they ETB. theres not much to work with out of here other then the back-up commander....
They reprinted it as a showcase style card that can appear in boosters. So they did reprint it - but like most expensive staples you would expect to be in a precon, they keep them separate.
This precon is bad; the commanders are bad, especially the face commander and the 10 new cards really arent that good. Not many meaningful reprints other than glen alendra, scion, brazen, and kindred (which was also in cmm). To me this was a big miss and the ratios of this precon are horrible….39 lands in a non green deck!, 4 boardwipes??, 14 targeted removal??!?…..whoever built this precon needs to be fired. I should make the precons for wotc; ive built over 300 different commanders myself in 4 years time.
Both decks being £40-45 and both being rather predictably boring is a shame. The Fae commander options are just so boring. the Goad seems like a late "grab something out of the hat" pick as its really weak and kinda pointless.

Therapist: What do you think when you hear the word Faery"
Me: "big Lobsters of course!"
Out of the two commander decks, this was the one I was looking forward to. Might pick one up once it releases.
Same

Hey bud, that's a great idea, do you have a decklist in plan yet?
I’m planning on picking up and upgrading this deck, though I’m probably gonna make Obyra the commander and make a flash/draw go deck around Alela similar to Nymris.

Looks like a slam dunk of a precon: not only it has juicy reprints, but almost all new cards are interesting and not straight out jank
I'm with Tomer about the fun of Alela as a perfect dimir fairies deck. Toss it in esper fairies and it's great too. Let's goooad
So who's gutting this precon for an Og Alela fairies deck?
I really like the ub commander in the deck that drains for going fairy tribal. The flash commander seems very fun though too
Whatever happened to Tomer's upgrade guides for this deck and the selesnya one? Can't find them anywhere. Were they ever made?
These new cards look very fun for not just this deck but also wizards, flying tribal, etc.
I like what I see from the deck, but I definitely would have wanted to see more Flash Faeries, both from the precon and the main set.
Excited for this deck, my bitterblossom awaits
I think I'll combine this with the original Alela and add a curse sub theme with the new curse stuff like Eriette of the charmed apple
Faerie Bladecrafter is a pretty sweet card for Ukkima and Cazur decks.
does misleading signpost save you from attack triggers like annihilator?
This deck brings everything I’ve wanted for the faerie tribe. They nailed it with the new cards.
Can't wait to adapt this into an Obyra deck- upgrade video?
I’m exited for Bernard Ginger Sculptor, how boss is that card
I'm excited. I've wanted to build faeries for a while, but I felt the tribe was kinda sparse. There are four legendaries in this deck, and each suggests a different way to build it.

I like Alela as commander more because of the goad on damage. It's good protection seeing as your creatures are you small
Alela plays Draw, goad pretty well
So happy to see Kindred Dominance see a reprint in a precon. It was stupidly expensive for so long, and it's finally on the list of cards that are considered safe to reprint frequently.
what about midnight clock?
I’m excited for this deck…
I’m not sure what Drago, King Eternal has to do with anything

Reflections of litjarra is gas in my sliver deck lol

Sow - er (as in with needle and thread)
not
Sour (as in tart taste)
Sow-er of Temptation
Its Fine
Early next week? =(
Aristocrats fairy seems like a good concept but def no support for it here!
I'm a bit sad with the lack of Bitterblossom reprint, I won't lie. It would have been an auto-buy had that card been included.
They printed it as a special showcase type card that can appear in booster packs an it's a mythic... wizards know what they're doing haha...
Alright boys purchase those faeries not in the deck
i'm keeping the face commander.
Crim should play this on Commander Clash.
These deck exclusive cards are ridiculous .. echoes is tje best by far..but wow
Crim should have reviewed the deck because it sounds like Crims dream deck with loads of flash cards and of course faeries.
WOTC really couldnt afford to include bitterblossom in the Faerie Tribal deck?
I love it, though I'll make Talion, kindly lord my commander
I hate how there’s no bitter blossom in this deck, it should be in any faerie deck 100% but wizards won’t reprint it
it's in the enchanting tales extra sheet so it wasn't going to be in the precon, spellstutter sprite is weirder exclusion imo
They reprinted it as a showcase style card that can appear in boosters. So they did reprint it - but like most expensive staples you would expect to be in a precon, they keep them separate.
First letz go
I preorderd it, i love tribe style Decks

ofc bitterblossom isn't included.. ah well, 20 bucks.
