It would be so much better to play this build at level ~170, but it is what it is, I don't want to go higher than 150. Note that Rings of Spectral Light are fast and have astronomical range which makes this spell really good as well. I am so happy with these additions to Death Sorceries! - เกม

Crazy coincidence but the character I brought into the DLC is an old int/faith themed character called "Miquellan Pus" who's meant to be like a St. Trina Cleanrot Knight. The name was meant to evoke like, a sleepy time version of the Pus of Man from DS3. And then the DLC added a whole new kind of undead goop and gave it explicit ties to St. Trina. I feel like I saw the future somehow and the character name retroactively makes a lot of sense lmao. Excited to try the spells out since they'll give me more diversity than just the rings of light or the rot incantations.
“Miquellan Pus” my first thought is Miquella had a zit that popped.
Just because Trina is in that area doesn't mean she has anything to do with putrescence.

"All tainted flesh eventually becomes putrescence, and this clump of it imbibed St. Trina's nectar, which granted it eternal rest. And so it was that putrescence became her knight."
@@Ezekiel_Allium The Putrescent Knight's AI in the files call it the Knight of the Gloam-Eyed Queen. It's likely a scrapped boss that they decided to bring back last minute and had nowhere to put it, so decided to throw it in the lore with St. Trina. There is absolutely zero similarities between the two of them except that they're both vaguely shades of purple, and not even the same shade. Putrescence very clearly has more direct ties to Ghostflame and Destined Death than Sleep or Trina.

This is like arguing the flood hunters from halo aren't flood because their first concepts were as non-flood aliens. Concepts get shifted around quite frequently in fromsoft developement. Consider how Yhorm went from a first boss to being slapped onto a totally different area and given totally different lore than he was almost certainly created around.
Also it's not saying anywhere that Trina created the putrescence or anything, just that they wound up in the same place and Trina gave comfort to the Putrescence. I'm of the opinion the Putrescence was obviously there long before Trina.
By far the most creative build i have seen since the dlc dropped ! Salute bro i subbed and look forward to more interesting builds.

Mass scratches that Cannon of Haima / Roiling Magma part of the brain but I think that Vortex is really the star of the show here. Of all the area denial / "get off me" Wrath of Gold & Ghostflame Explosion-style spells and incantations I think nothing really comes close to the armor, damage, and sheer area covered by that spell, and the fact that it's also cheaper in faith than Explosion is just icing on the cake honestly. I think it is going to be the breakpoint for faith / int builds for sure; that last clip alone with it being a panic defensive option, absolutely chunking that guy and even double-hitting due to the splash getting caught on geometry is just way too good to pass up, to say nothing of the offensive value.
That being said it also is nice to have a more forgiving Cannon of Haima that isn't a bright blue neon sign of incoming projectile lol.
Rings kind of just seem like better Rancour; faster, better range, and respectable damage seem more useful than the easier to dodge / outrun.
All in all I think there's enough here to make lower level faith-int builds way more viable but we'll have to see how everything else new shakes out.

They're both very solid spells indeed, and when paired with other spells that control movement they can be a menace.

Why are Elden ring players so insistent on playing pvp in the least fun way possible (in regards to moonveil and rivers of blood spam)? I don’t think I’ve seen another gaming community so unwilling to both change how they play while also being allergic to fun
Makes the PvE easier I guess 🙂but you are right, a lot of Moonveil and RoB users encountered recently!
The thing with invasions in er is that alot of hosts and phantoms/invaders like easy wins and spam like that works especially well in ganks. It's not really about having fun with invading or taunters tongue it's just to win
Your content has always been great but it's been so cool seeing you use the DLC stuff. Gives me so many ideas for my own builds. I have a faith/int character that I really want to take into the DLC next if I can just beat the dang last boss on my current one.

Damn how come whenever I charge mass of putrescence it doesn’t leave a huge pool of fire like it does in the video lol it’s like half the size of the one here. Is there a second version that I don’t know about or something?
Sometimes it doesn't spawn the fire when you hit certain objects, like for example an elevator. Hope this helps, cause the fire should spawn 🙂

Didn't test it but someone else stated the same. This is pretty silly if true.

Hello, sorry I have a question, are putresence spells really benefited by the staff of the prince of death? I was testing and actually the Carian staff is better for both spells. Correct me if I'm wrong
I honestly don't know yet, I just assumed they benefit from PoD because they are classified as Death Sorceries. Would be silly if it is true.
Putresence has nothing to do with Godwyn so PoD doesn't work.

The new ones are great but also the buffs to ancient death rancor are INSANE the spell was already good for setups but now it does pretty good damage as well! Loving the new sorcs
My bullet hell setups are evem better now!
Also miriams vanishing is amazing because you can cast out of it leads to all sorts of shennanigans

I personally want to make a "true mage" using that staff. Using spells and incantations after one another seems really fun.

@@enigmatic247 I think it’s very good and does good damage. I can use golden order incantations without needing to switch
I think it is nice since some incantations and sorceries really support each other well but I haven't seen the scaling yet and it probably always be inferior to Seal-Seal or Staff-Staff options for bonus damage.
It's the best option for 45/45 builds now. Going above a staff and a seal is better unless you're willing to trade power for convinience.

Good stuff. I've seen some bad reviews for these new death sorceries, but I've found them to be very effective. If you're looking for another comet spell, then yeah, this ain't that.
Sometimes I don't know what people expect, probably some 1 hit nuke that wipes the entire squad of 3 in a radius of 100 feet. Some players just lack imagination I think. I love these spells and will play them again for sure!🙂

I am switching between the carian regal scepter and lusat's for FP management, sometimes I can't cast with Lusat's because of low FP, so I switch to CRS to squeeze out the last fp.Prince of Death staff in the offhand buffs the damage of Death Sorceries, so everytime I cast with the Katana equipped I do less damage.
Putrescence sorceries are probably the most satisfying out of all the spells they've added for DLC, imo

Can you make your texboxes slightly transparent, we can't see what crystal tear you used.
You just have to wait till it disappears, I always make it disappear when hovering over the crystal tear flask! 🙂
Would rellana twin swords scale better with your build?
Probably yes, but I mostly try to keep it themed. To bad Rellanas moonspell and swords aren't effectively possible at lvl 150.

It does matter 🙂 it is the new Ghostflame Call which I use because it fits the theme and because I wanted to test it - I don't like it.

Hey I really enjoyed the video! I’m not new to Elden ring but I haven’t done PvP. My main is in NG+ and lvl 250 so I’m going to start a new character and just take to 150 for PvP. My main is mostly a paladin playstyle so I think I want to get away from that and play more ranged spellcasting. Can you explain your stats and why you have them where they are? I want to learn to play like this any help would be awesome
I wouldn't suggest this build for 150 as I stated in the description because it is so statsheavy. I get 26 faith reach the requirements to cast Vortex of Putrescence. This is just to cast the spell abd if I wanted to cast Ghostflame Explosion too I even have to go up to 30 faith. I get 80 intelligence to get 413 sorcery scaling with Lusat's, you could go higher with intelligence but you wouldn't get much more sorcery scaling, 80 is the hardcap. Death Sorcery was meant to be cast with Prince of Death's Staff which scales of faith and intelligence, but at lvl 150 at 50int/50 faith for example you are still far from the 413 of Lusat's or 373 of Carian Regal Scepter. The sorcery scaling determines the damage of your spells. This is why the points in faith kind of are wasted cause they only exist so I can cast the spells but they don't add any damage with the staves I use. Then I invested a the minimum in str and dex to reach requirements for the Heavy Katana and put on magic infusion so it scales of INT mostly. I hope this is understandable!

you said you don't want to go higher than 150. why is that? I just never understood why people like playing at RL 150 and I would like to know this so I can be more informed and make a decision on a character I have at LVL 150 bc I want to get into PvP
I am concerned I won't find as many invasions on 175 as I am on 150 when playercount will drop again. Maybe I am wrong, but most people play at 125-150, even though there also is higher level PvP.
Helphen Steeple would be a nice theme weapon

Thank you so much 🙂 I would invest into more dex for Death Ritual Spear, 4 more faith for Ghostflame Explosion, more intelligence so I don't have to use the Heirloom to have 80 int and rest into vigor, mind and endurance.

Haha do you know what you ask for? I mean, this was the spell I was looking most forward to when I saw it in the trailer, but I basically also could just go and play PvP with (naked) fists as alternative to this spell haha🙂When they buff it for sure though!

I can only agree with this. Reading comments on a certain side where spells locations and informations are displayed makes me shake my head. For example Miquellas Light does not do enough damage and is a bad spell. Ok then, probably expecting spells to nuke the whole map killing everything in 1 hit.

I feel like ancient death rancor and rolling magma fit this build well. Same with the thorn sorceries
ancient death rancor is not considered a death spell neither does get the bonus from the staff of the death prince, thorn sorceries fits a completely different tematic aswell, works better with faith+arcane builds aswell.
Yes it is, it’s boosted by the staff what are you talking about. Preeeeetttty sure I saw him using it in the clip. It’s just the upgrade to rancor, another death spell just not like the new ones visually.
I did a death+magma build before, they really do well together 🙂

I have done it before in my older videos, but it is truely SO situational and you often have better options 🙂 still so nice when getting kills with it!
Quick tip and feel free to tell me to stfu, butnyou should put your tears on your quick tab, the triangle button or whatever it is for you. They are always there and you can save your main tool belt fornother stuff.
I don't have a triangle on my keyboard 😉jokes aside I always appreciate tips, I never felt the need to use the belt, even though it is a nice feature!

Of course I died, I go up against squads of 3 all the time (as a squishy mage). The build is still awesome, I never said it makes you invincible though so no need to be spiteful about it 😂
Since you dropped kind of the same comment under my gravity sorceries video I even state there the winrate is pretty high, this doesn't mean 100% though, right? People just rather watch success than fail, simple, it should be naturally clear though that invaders also die.
I keep seeing people jab at Chase the Bro for “not showing his losses”, but aside from the fact that he does show losses in many of his videos, the dude does streams. You can see for yourself that he really does win the vast majority of his invasions.
