Personally my take on logan being a jerk to everyone in season 1 to 3 is because I think unlike the other kids he clearly has a dad who frequently neglects him and only pays attention to Logan if he causes trouble or wants something. While the Dad was right to be mad at Logan, you have to realize that he was enabling Logan. By bailing him out of trouble all of the time, the Dad only disciplined him when it was something that affected him.
