I was too when I first saw a newborn panda! Giant panda babies are born like 900 times smaller (by weight) than their mothers, it's crazy lol. I think marsupials are the only mammals whose babies are born smaller than giant pandas.

It's hard to fathom that such a large animal could have much pain in giving birth to such a small baby! Good mom taking good care of her baby.
Even miscarriages hurt like actual child birth due to the contractions... No worse pain than contractions!!

It's the contractions that causes the pain, not the pushing it out. The pushing it out actually brings relief.

So many people in the comments complaining about the cage and the cold floor. These people are obviously experts and know what they are doing. Pandas are endangered species so they are very well taken care of. I'm sure the temperature in that room is controlled to best suit the panda's needs.

Human's: Hard Cold Ground.
I think they were trying to make sure nothing bad happened to it while giving birth. And maybe didn't have time to make it as comfy as they could've when it was giving birth or something and that's why there isn't like a more comfy environment. (Also it could've been rescued from a bad spot and they needed to care for it before putting the panda and baby in like a zoo area where they can live in grass and such)
They mainly keep them inside of those places for the medical treatment, since if they were to put it out into its enclosure, it would most likely get lost within the natural environment.
Pandas often dont realize whenever a baby came out of them, unless they have painful contractions like this one did. They allow the place to be warm as well, so the baby and the mother arent cold.
