I LOVED this section of the PCT when I hiked through in 2018. We stopped at the Echo Lake Chalet for ice cream. I lost my first toe nail at Aloha Lake while watching the sunset. Took a nice, refreshing dip in Fontanillis Lake. The climb up to Baker Pass was a grunt, but so beautiful. It was covered in smoke up there in 2018 and looked super eerie, but I still loved it. Then walking/camping underneath the chairlifts at Squaw and having a dance party on trail above Alpine Meadows. Thank you for your video and helping me relive some awesome memories. I want to go back!! I’m definitely putting the Tahoe Rim Trail on my radar!! 😀

Loved seeing this pop up because I just did this section a little over a week ago, except we started at Echo and kept going north on the PCT rather than sticking to the TRT. Barker Pass was definitely one of my favorite parts, I’m so thankful to live near such awesome trails!
I spent a few days backpacking desolation this summer. Good times! Granite Chief, a place where I almost shredded my calf by hopping over a fallen tree and didn't see the broken branch on the back side. Scraped my self up really good that time!
What an awesome trip! Glad you got out there before the whole state caught fire. I just heard from the forest service that the trip I had planned for next week in Sequoia is cancelled due to fire. They closed all the trailheads. 😥 I'll continue to live vicariously. Thank you for sharing your adventure. Way to go Chrissy finishing on a bum ankle. I love your determination!
The fires are so bad here in Colorado too- its heartbreaking! I had 2 different friends have to get of the TRT early due to the smoke- I hope we all get some rain soon! So sorry about your trip- 2020.... its one hell of a year!

Hey Arielle, thanks for taking the time to film, edit and upload this. I'm planning a 2021 TRT and this is very helpful. Could you please elaborate some on the weather during your hike? When would you recommend doing this hike weather-wise? Thanks.
It was extremely hot for the first 4 days of our trip so it may be better to go earlier in the season or later. The only downside to earlier is you may be dealing with snow still and later is that some water sources start to dry up.
Grats on the finish!! Great hike! You learned a lot and had a good time doing it! Look forward to more! Maybe I'll see ya on the PCT 2021? Provided of course the permit gods favor us!
Arielle, great videos. In case you missed the ptarmigan, at 5 minutes 55 seconds--watch the rocks on the right edge of the trail when they move you will see a bird, a ptarmigan.
Wow, y'all reeled off some major mileage! You guys are impressive -- and major props to Chrissy for finishing on an injured leg. What an accomplishment for both of you. I would definitely say you are ready for the PCT! Thanks for showing us all of the beautiful scenery and being real about the hardships and setbacks (we are especially forewarned about the water carries on some sections of the TRT). Now time to rest!

Amazing job BOTH of you! its absolutely inspiring watching and learning with you. Thnx for the veiws and the laughs! As always, hike hard! Be safe! I liked them but wish I got a half size bigger and wore them a bit looser. I did have some foot pain but I think the mileage we were doing also had something to do with that.

How were the Brooks Cascadia for you? I believe you mentioned in an earlier video those were the trail runners you'd be wearing throughout.
