    The British coin in the beginning is a 1883 half crown with Queen Victoria young head worth about $15,00 due to its condition. I like to collect British coins pre decimal 92.5 silver

      @@seanronayne3654 So I decided to start collecting pre decimal coin focusing on 1770 to 1970 and now have a pretty good collection. I have expanded my range to include earlier coins. My oldest British coin is a 1427 pence hammered coin Henry iii long cross. My oldest overall is Roman 15 BC. Canadian coins are great I have a few, also many trade tokens from Canada. I started collectng about four years ago and really enjoy the hobby.

    I got into $2.5's a few years back, buying from friends and acquaintances. 8 of 15 I took to have verified were gold but fake $2.5 Indians. I haven't bought another since. Those things are too risky. If someone wants one I recommend ONLY buying from a reputable dealer., Daniel here comes to mind.

    One quick question for you Daniel. There is a 1958 DDO(LWC) listed on the coin facts app for $340,000 for a MS-64.. the ms 65 is over 1.1 millon. How many examples of these have ever been found? Do you happen to know by chance? I have gotten on the ngc app and it's not nearly as user friendly as the pcgs app and I don't have an up to date computer to use mine is over 10 years old and its slower than molasses in the middle of winter lol

    Another interesting video, Daniel it shows that you need to check and test your coins to be sure that you are getting what is advertised. If you don't have the equipment to test, go to your LCS one that you know you can trust and have them test the coins it will save you a lot of headache and worry. Thanks again, Daniel, for all you do for everyone and the hobby, and have a great day.

      this is the exact reason why gold and silver can't work as currency

    For the smaller and thinner pieces you should be using the calibration disk under the piece as per sigma instructions

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use the SIGMA as an example, I don't need it to detect counterfeit coins.

    • @docgrows1125
      @docgrows1125 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CoinHELPuUnderstood but showing it may be hard to use a sigma on the gold pesos. It would be best for it to be done properly using the calibration disc so it would read correctly with less concerns

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      My point is, I don't want people relying on SIGMAs but their knowledge on coins, and their strike, details and the coin minting process. Everyone should have a working knowledge of this if they're buying in the wild. SIGMAs can often give false positives and read clad coins as silver. I do my videos the way I do for a reason.

    What makes a Franklin a bugs bunny?

    • @MissouriMetal
      @MissouriMetal 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A die crack or chip on Franklin's mouth that makes him look like he has bugs Bunny's teeth

    • @JackalopeHerdmaster

      @MissouriMetal It's actually a die clash. That's why the variety exists in so many years of the series. 🙂

    My coin dealer friend has ax XRF machine that has a lid. Many of these fake gold are 14k-18k as the counterfeiters take jewelry and melt and make fake coins.

      I could wish I still had the ones I sold at a profit for $45 years ago. Or bust halves, back when they were plentiful and people didn't know all about the varieties. But if I hadn't ever sold anything that was going to be more valuable eventually I couldn't afford to buy much that I later made some money with.
