For the star apple, you can cut them in wedges and just eat the soft part. I'm allergic to this fruit but my mom loves them.

Can you do an “around the world” kind of series? I feel like there are so many lesser known cuisines from so many cultures, and it would be so cool if you made a series that explored them!

The star fruit is eaten like mangosteen..but reminds me of the small asian yogurt drinks! Ive been missing them from my trip to cambodia & my local markets have just been starting to sell them as well! In Khmer/Cambodian the literal name for it is "Milk Fruit".

Rambutan is one of favorite fruits in Indonesia. Rambutan is from the word ‘rambut’ = hair. So the skin texture feels like hair :D

Please encourage your Mom to guest star and have her show us how to cook some yummy foods! Thanks for showing all these wonderful looking fruits. :-) (Although maybe check exposure/lighting against the white fruits-- they were hard to see well.) I wish I lived near an Asian market-- the closest one is two hours away.

I am a viewer from Hong Kong and I got super excited when I saw the 'Hong Kong style Daikon cake' , which usually we call it 'turnip cake'. Anyways the name is not important, as long as it taste good :) the lunar new year is coming and we really eat a lot of it recently. My family will make it by ourselves, too.Ps: we use the same brand of oyster sauce. High five!

Please keep your oyster sauce in the fridge. An uncle of mine used to work for Lee kum kee and he says that you should always refrigerate your oyster sauce. The reason is because oyster is still a seafood and if it’s not refrigerated it can actually create mold on the bottom of the bottle.

You should do 3 savory xoi (sticky rice) recipes and 3 sweet xoi recipes. It'd be cool. And do some che recipes, including che troi nuoc (but do it with different fillings inside...the mung mean one with spring onions and do it with the one that's filled with coconut/peanuts/etc.!!). I love the desserts made in banana leaves that are filled with the combo of roasted coconut/peanuts/sesame seeds, etc. So good!

With Vú Sữa (the Apple star), you cut it in half and use a spoon to scoop the inside, but not too deep, because the part attached to the peel make your mouth sticky and it's not so good, so we usually don't eat that part. I love all those Vietnamese fruits!

My favorite "exotic" fruit is green-fleshed kiwifruit. I learned today the skin is completely edible after it's been washed and rubbed to get most of the fuzz off. I tried it and like it better with the skin on. Just don't eat the ends--the top end has a very sharp spike in it.

Cerri J if I need to ripen them a bit more I will put them on the counter but normally I put all my fruit in the refrigerator except for bananas because I like all my fruit cold
