গোপালগঞ্জ উপজেলা কৃষি কর্মকর্তাদের কাছ থেকে প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহন করে বাড়ির পাশের খালে ভাসমান বা ধাপ পদ্ধতিতে সবজি চাষ শুরু করেন কৃষক মোঃ দাউদ শেখ। ক্ষতিকারক কীটনাশক ব্যবহার না করে এই পদ্ধতিতে লাউ, ঢেঁড়স, টমেটো, লালশাক, পুঁইশাক, কলমিশাক সহ বিভিন্ন ধরনের শাক-সবজি চাষ করে বছরে প্রায় দেড় থেকে দুই লক্ষ টাকা অায় করছেন তিনি।
