As a fairly new player, not a huge one but C on Dennis last year during his dgw.
selling haaland before the game against united
Triple captained Aubameyang in my 1st season cause I didn't know about dgws, he only got an assist, 15pts from him 😔
I sold Haaland only for him to score a hatrick against Palace and I think one more hatrick, then I gave in, sold Toney and got Haaland in for him only for Toney to score a hatrick against Leeds 😢
There’s something about watching other people make huge mistakes that makes you feel much better about yourself😂

Jan Bednerek was on my bench that game and I was left sweating for 24 hours hoping all my starting defenders played. Thankfully they did.

0:50 I also fondly remember that GW, being my most successful FH ever. Contrary to Jack, I brought in Cash and Coutinho, who registered 52 pts, and finally finished on 141 pts.

2020-21 Season Game week 1 I had son game week 2 I sold son ahead of Southampton he scores 4 goals 😭😭💔💔💔 that will always haunt

Thank you so much, Oscar, I feel so much better about all my crappy 50/50 outcomes this season, especially regarding the Dennis captainers (during the double gameweek, not this season obviously); I remember a few people in our mini league captaining Dennis but I think I went for Josh King and he did okay, so I got a huge chuckle out of that one in particular

In 2017 or 2016 there was a gameweek where I transferred out Aguero and he went on to score a quattrick, almost everyone had him as captain.
I recall during the start of the 20/21 season..... many had Son at home to Everton (lost 0-1) and then sold him ahead of Southampton away (scored 4 goals in a 5-2 win) then bought him back against Newcastle at home (off injured after 45 mins, no returns and no updates from Jose on his progress all week) and sold again ahead of Man United away (6-1 win and 2 goals)! I did the first half of that trend.....
My biggest disaster was the bench boost that I selected for the week that those hooligans stormed old trafford and made them postpone that game. My tripleup on Liverpool ended up in wiping out my bench, while my bench goalie didn't play so I got exactly zero points for my chip! And to make it worse, I didn't realize that the next week was a double gameweek (wasn't following Oscar's show back then) and would have gotten around 25 points for my bench.
Love this type of videos from, really enjoyed this one, would love to see more of them in the future

Fairly recent but I still can't get over captaining salah in liverpool's 9-0 win over Bournemouth. Worst of all was watching him miss 2 fairly easy chances and both haaland and trent scoring 17 points each. Tough day in the office.
Yeah that was unbelievable, about 7 other Liverpool players got returns

What a trail of tears. Dennis, check! Actually, the Havertz captaincy vs Norwich over Salah vs Man United--broke my season. I thought I was so clever on that one. Although this week captaining Toney instead of Saka doesn't feel too great.
I feel so much better about some of my bad luck across the years now. I'm trying to learn to not assume bad outcomes were a result of bad decisions
Good way of looking at it, good decision making can have bad outcomes. There’s not always a lesson, there’s just bad luck sometimes. Applies to life too!

That Dennis captaincy touched my heart, I thought I was alone😂. I used my wildcard that week and brought Dennis and king for the double. Needless to say, It was not a good couple of gameweeks 😂😂
I removed him and never picked him again after my savage triple Captain fail 😂
nearly brought in Jesus last season before his watford game when he scored 4. But decided against it just before I went through with the transfer
I had to skip the part the second you said GW23 and Emmanuel Dennis. The memory is still raw, man.

A couple that stick out. Both are in your video 😂 The first one was the Havertz/Salah disaster. Never trusted Havertz since. The other was the Mane triple captain. Will never forget either of them. But the KDB captaincy for his 4 goals last season against Wolves helped me get over them 😅

Just this season I brought in Darwin for Watkins GW2 which resulted in a red card and a swing of 10+ points 💙
Son is my eternal boogeyman, I think he’s blanked every week I’ve ever had him and hauled the very week I take him out.
I have the same eternal problem with James
I remember doubling Dennis and king in a double and the game was postponed.
With all the disaster talk, I had Defoe in my team when he scored 5...👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My whole season last year was a complete disaster , constant postpoments due to covid and bad weather hit my team like you would not believe , everything went wrong I remember captaining aubamyang he went on to miss a wide open goal then missed a penalty & to top it off got booked aswell 😂 , oh and then my team got hacked losing years of history & I had to make a new one . But Trust that’s just the tip of the iceberg so much more went wrong last season it was actually comical .
Captaining Jiménez in last year's GW30, where he got sent off in the 53th minute. That is -2, but having him capped... -4.
Its only the second day of fpl break and we already are feeling the drought with videos like these xD
I took a -4 to remove Gakpo for the Man United game as I didn’t think he would start and my bench was looking a bit ropey, brought in Tete from Leicester who scored 2 points whilst Gakpo returned a double digit score, I think this decision cost me around 16 points
I also triple captained Mane in that double game week where he scored 3 points 🤣
i believe my worst ever gameweek was gameweek 9 last year when i got 11 points with a full squad
for context i had pogba, ronaldo and shaw in my team, it aint as bad as gw 7 this season but i have an excuse for that

@@FPLFocalhaha yeah, I’m now up to the Dennis part and captained him (not triple). And as a Norwich fan at the Watford game, we didn’t even realise he got sent-off until about 10 or so minutes later when someone checked SkySports and saw then we were all counting the Watford players and realised he was off haha.
Bringing in Michael Keane last season for a hit was my biggest ever disaster as his fixture got postponed last minute and then he scored an own goal and lost to my team Norwich the next gameweek (maybe there was a 1 pointer before it, not sure but yeah he left my team having ended up losing me more points than gained before even considering the points I could’ve had if I had another player).
Oh goodness, I forgot about Lundstram. I benched his 20 pointer too, this video is brutal 😭
Haha Havertz blanked that gameweek where they scored7. Might as well mention us, Salah captainers vs Bournemouth when they put 9 past them and salah got no returns.
I have a really vague memory of bringing in two players for a team in red (either Southampton or Sheffield Utd) because they were doing so well, and it’s so annoying I can’t remember specifically what happened, all I know is that between both players, there was a red card for one, and a penalty miss for the other, all within around 20 minutes of football. I uninstalled and I don’t think I’ve returned to it since then

I had Bednarek come off the bench that -7 gameweek and had Dennis as captain for his double gameweek
I was one of those who captained Nunez in GW2 so I got a -4 and to make matters even worse my Vice Captain was Jesus, who scored a 19pointer against bottom of the league Leicester

I had a disaster earlier this year. Seen a tweet about Pep rotating Haaland so I thought I’d be smart and get Toney before city’s home game to Palace…
2020-21 season Sterling had triple gw, I triple captained him to get only 6 points. Got injured in first game(1pt), didn't play second game and came in last game at the end of the game (1pt).
That Chelsea vs Norwich match weakened me too 😂
In my first season of FPL I didn’t activate wildcard and took a 36pt hit on transfers😭
I know this season it's easy to say this (with Salah putting up crazy numbers), but the best strategy for captain is simply to pick the best player and keep him captain the entire season (apart from the occasional double game week or in the case of injury). Trying to predict when a player with lower numbers will put up higher numbers than your best player in a singular gameweek is too unpredictable.
Did that same Cancelo captaincy…. Ugh.

GW5 this season I got a 21 pointer even though the team is packed with players who have done well this season.
When Salah and Bruno gave 17 and 20 points haul respectively i scored 110 points in that GW.Went on to score 5 centuries that season

I was murdered this week by my mini league competitors due to Saka. I didn't have him, and they made him Captain. This made me feel a little better
Recently sold Martinelli to replace him with Saka, just as Martinelli gained form; then transferred out Saka for Martinelli and Saka (who I would have vice-captained) gets 15 points without captaining him at all

Ahh yes I remember desperately trying to get C from Haaland to Cancelo 20 mins before deadline. Thankfully the crash wouldn't allow it!
I had a really big moment of stupid this year where I banked on Leicester's slight run of clean sheets so I benched a lot of my Newcastle players in favour of Leicester assets because I thought Leicester would give Newcastle a bit of trouble. I was so wrong and thankfully I have recovered from this.

I had Bednarek and Dennis for 2 on the list. Dropped from 8.1k on Saturday night to 20k on Sunday last game week so that cheered me up a bit lol. 21 point swing with one game to go in 24 hours. Brought in Maddison after deciding Saka two single gameweeks wasn't as good a choice. Oh well. Hopefully work my way back in the next few gameweeks with Maddison double and great fixtures ahead. Took a minus 4 to switch Tarkowski to Chillwell for 28 and the Chelsea double in 29. That cost me 7 points too. If I made no transfers last week I would be 7.2k. It is what it is. I have on paper a superb gw 29 bench boost so hoping for no international injuries. Let's have it.
Here's a tale of triple captain woes. Two seasons running, I triple captained a Fox. The first time, Vardy missed a pen away to Burnley so I scored a big fat zero. The second time, Barnes decided to get injured so I scored three. I haven't used the chip yet this season, I must still be scarred...
And you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be a Fox when it does happen
I also captained havertz over salah last year and it wasn't the only week salah punished me not captaining him...finished 207th overall...what could have been!
When ever you feel unlucky or cheated by the fpl gods just remember that Fpl focal's got you covered. This video 🤣😂

I did the Salah to Barnes transfer on the wildcard, Barnes got 0 points and Salah (who would have been my captain) got 21. Even worse, I'm a united fan haha

In Gameweek 26, I transferred out Darwin and Gakpo for Toney and Rashford, taking a -4 in the process. Darwin scored 12 and Gakpo scored 14 in a shock 7-0 win over Man United. Toney at least scored 8, But Rashford only 2. Net impact of my transfers was -20.

It's gameweek 8 of the 21/22 FPL season and I have Mount who blanked, Jota who didn't play and Foden only getting one assist. I decided to sell Mount, Jota and Foden for Son, Gallagher on Bernardo (being the noob I was). In GW9, Mount got a hat trick and an assist for 24 points, Foden got two goals and an assist for 18 points, and Jota got a goal and assist for 11 points. That's 53 points sold for Son, Gallagher and Bernardo who combined for 9 points. The best thing, I took an 8 point hit that week for a net loss of 52 points. And that 52 points ended up costing me my mini-league

I captained Antonio in a gw and got a red card last season. - 2 points from captain smh
i had salah captained and gakpo and nunez starting gw25, then i wildcarded gw26 and sold all of them. they got 68 points combined.
In gw 3 i did free hit and brought in Rodrigo when he got a hatrick v Chelsea. I did not fancy their chances and thought free hit was permanent, so I left him 3rd bench

I’m a Man Utd fan. Wildcarded a failing Kane and Son out of my team. Spurs beat utd 6-1. Took an 8 point hit to get Kane and Son back. 50-60 point swing

In GW 24, activated my bench boost of Pope, Martinelli, Andreas and Trippier. Little did I know Mahrez was dropped and Mitrovic was injured. So in any case, my subs would have been subbed on regardless. Adding to that, Pope got sent off against Liverpool and got a -3. The bench boost got me a -2 in the end!

Luckiest moment for me GW 16 this season the game crashed so me trying to change captaincy from Haaland to Cancelo didnt save
I sold Toney this season and got in mitro. Toney got a hattrick and mitro scored 1 goal.
