You cried each time from watching TV interviews? You might want to look into some therapy. Not judging.

I can't call her a liar but I've seen her give this same interview and say the same thing word for word, and cry on cue at the same moment. I don't like it when people seem too...rehearsed like that. Thats just my opinion. I don't need judgement or admonishments for it.

I'm glad Constance Wu shared her story. Storytelling is an effective way to heal and help others who experience the same struggles heal and feel heard, noticed, recognized, acknowledge, and not alone. I learned recently that FINE stands for (Fucked up, Insecure, Neurotic, Emotional). So when someone says they're fine, know they're struggling.

Grateful for the conversation and the openness. Each interview is a chance to model how to normalize these conversations to address the stigma. The continual healing is resonant and genuine--it was felt in the conversation. Thank you Constance and GMA for the piece.

Being in the public eye is such a double edged sword. People want to relate to you on the big screen but you can't have a regular human moment??! I mean she's an artist with different projects who was on a series for 6 years. Why was it a mistake to share her honest opinion in those tweets? Obviously there was something deeper that made her express her desire to not go back to that show gee, perhaps because she had been harassed and threatened....?! Mamma Mia! I'm so glad I left that industry, one minute you're riding high and everyone's happy with you and you're on top of the world and the next minute they want to cut you down and take you out and you'll see the true nature of human beings during that time, believe me, it's not pretty. And quite honestly it's one of the most painful things you can go through because you realize just how selfish and cruel most people are inside. They only appear to be nice when you are feeding their agenda, serving their needs and fulfilling your part of the dynamic. They act like they are your friends, claim to be your "family" but when you have a normal, down moment, or go through something rough, they turn on you. Been there done that and not in any way as large as the status she had... so yep ..glad I am outta that world of entertainment. I wish ladies would have been less competitive and more supportive when I was in the industry. We could have shared about all the "me too" harassments we each encountered regularly instead of hiding them and pretending it didn't bother us. Women need to be taught and believe they have VALUE just as they are...not only when the outside world validates them.

@Crack Shot honestly, why not both? She could be telling a true painful experience but also selling her book at the same time. There is no conflict in that. Maybe the producer thought they were flirting but took it too far? who knows? If you have saw her other interviews, you could at least tell that the emotions were real.

I know it's a completely different morning show n' network, but consider this: T. J. Holmes basically has the exact same job, that Matt Lauer had, on the Today show! Just think on that for a second.
I am astonished by the deft kindness, human empathy and true, deep compassion he is able to manifest, despite reaching to the heart of some very hurtful experiences n' moments in Constance's life. Yet, at no time does he ever shrink back from asking the pointed questions that get to the root of 'the why's and how's' or the aftermath, of the harassment Constance went thru.
Hats off to both of the GMA hosts in this video, and the entire team behind them! (part of my brain cannot help but wonder what twisted n' somehow 'victim blaming' path Matt Lauer would of managed to twist this interview down!) His infamous interviews with the likes of Tom Cruise among many others, so strange to look back on, with the revealing light that hindsight gives us.
Maybe, fingers crossed, time will bury our memory of abusers like Matt who lorded so much power over colleagues, while at the same time jealously hogging the glory that the anchor position on influential news shows afford (not to mention the 7 figure salary it afforded him!)

4 simple words, it is her choice. Some may consider it selfish, but also sometimes it's time to be a little selfish.
Healing is selfish. Does that mean we should stop healing? (Rhetorical question, the answer is No.)

At the end of the day, that's her personal decision, not ours. The person should be lucky Constance didn't reveal their name tho perhaps one could put two and two together as to who it may have been; maybe she wants to move on and I don't blame her. It's her trauma and we should appreciate the fact that she shared her story, as my understanding is that she wasn't originally planning to write about it, it was the last essay she wrote in her book.
