Gio Aplon, Cheslin Kolbe, Kurt Lee Arendse and Edwill van der Merwe all have resounding similarities.
They’re all lightning quick, small in stature and have represented the Springboks on different occasions.
But another thing they all have in common is the scrum cap they wear.
Traditionally the scrum cap was worn by players in the forward pack or if it made its way to the back line, the centres would be seen wearing them but not so often would a wing be seen wearing a scrum cap.
Is this the source of their brilliance?

why do some wingers wear scrum caps caus they arent in the scrum
Scrum caps are there to aid in the mitigation of serious head injuries and also in the prevention of “cauliflower ear”. You don’t necessarily need to be in the scrum to wear one.
It just so happens that all these players that wear one are also just insanely rapid and great at scoring tries.
