@@daveycretin664 Thank you Davey, come out to a show! Slow down was our version (due to some forgotten lyrics after lunch), and a tribute to Larry Williams who is from our hometown, New Orleans.

@@ZebraBand~ Thanks for the invite! I’ve seen Zebra live, a few times, on Long Island. (Besides seeing Mr. Jackson solo shows as well.) Nowadays it’s harder to get to see live concerts due to my unusual work schedule. However, l will do my best to make it out to a gig. Thanks again for your comments. Cheers, men!

Zebra debut is a stone cold classic. Bought the cassette in ‘83 and still one of my favorites. Always fast forwarded Slow Down back in the day and still do. 🦓

I saw zebra in 1977 at ole man rivers and the showboat in fat city. They would play 3 sets starting at 10;00pm and the 3rd set would go until 3;45-4;30am. Poeple would be dancing on chairs and tables blowin colombian doobies and having the time of our lives, we were apart of something special.

As a teenager, I saw Zebra in concert at Brooklyn's legendary rocky club L'Amour,
I think that they opened for White Lion. Randy Jackson made a comment to the crowd to check out the "cute little redhead in the tight black and white stripped pants",(me). I didn't wear the pants because I was going to see them, the pants were part of my regular garb when I wasn't wearing my catholic school uniform, the pants were a happy coincidence as I was not even aware that Zebra would be playing that night. I was honored, thrilled and embarrassed all at once. Thanks Davey Cretin for reminding me of this great band and a happy memory of my wild youth!

I've been a huge Zebra fan since the 1983 debut album and seen them live several times at Cardis in Houston, Port Jefferson and Phoenix. Great band and underrated. My list 1 to 4 would be 3.5, Debut album, IV and No Tellin Lies. I enjoyed the video, I'll to check out your other videos on CC.

Actually just played Take your fingers… And thought. Why isn’t there music like this anymore. Then I stumbled across your video. And hearing that they may tour again just made my day. I will delve into their other albums.
    Thank you for posting!!!!

I once saw Randy Jackson solo in nearby Eisenhower Park opening for the Billy Joel cover band during their free summer concert series. Just Randy and his 12 string guitar, he was fantastic. Never thought I'd see a Ranking the Albums of Zebra, they go way back for this LIer. Nice job, Davey !!!

Cool story, Jack. Randy Jackson is a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist. Perhaps l should have stated that more clearly in the video. (As are Mr. Felix and Mr. Guy as well.) Thanks for your kind words, it’s much appreciated. Have an excellent weekend!

Awesome video, In depth content and I thought the ranking was correct. Beware Zebra albums are hard to find and can be expensive. But if you are willing to hunt to find the albums at reasonable prices, they are out there.

Great show Davey! Thank you for putting a spotlight on Zebra. Great to hear that we'll be getting a new album in 2024. I saw them in 2017 in Newton, NJ and they were outstanding! The band haven't lost anything live and it's crazy that Randy can still hit those high notes. I don't have their 4th album but I would rank the first three in the order they were released and they would all be at least an 8.5 for me. Cheers!

Thanks for the positive feedback, John… much obliged! I think that most Zebra diehards would rank them in reverse release order, too. That’s one of the reasons that l decided to tackle this particular band: l have a slightly contrarian view. 😉 Also, to highlight their superb songwriting and performance skills as well.
I look forward to seeing more of you, John and your various guests - as you tackle the Judas Priest catalog - on John’s My Music Corner TH-cam channel. You guys do a delicious deep dive, every Wednesday evening, into each Judas Priest release. Cheers and thanks for your nice words!

@@daveycretin664 You're welcome and thank you Davey! Couldn't have said it better about the mighty Zebra.
And thanks so much for your praise for our Judas Priest series on My Music Corner (hosted by the incomparable John Clauser)! Our friend, Mr. Peter Jones, will be back with us next week for Unleashed in the East! Cheers!

My ranking would match this one exactly. I bought 3.V back when it came out and I didn't really give it a chance. A few years ago I decided to check the album out again and I absolutely love it. So many solid tracks.

When that debut played on WBAB I was kinda mad due to its clean production when all we heard was Live shows previously ..I still dig it …& all their stuff ..the Live Sundance album is great ..& love footage on YT ..That Texas show is their peak

Debut is perfect even with Slow Down. But, having said that, some years ago when I ripped the CD to Mp3, I left it out. 😅
