My issue is that I can get rid of the hold & the HL (in caps), but the lowest temperature setting for either cool or heat says HL, so I cannot decrease the AC below a certain temperature (for example). What’s especially frustrating is that the HVAC company that installed the system for the builder is unable to tell me how to get rid of this HL so that I can decrease our AC below 72!!! CRAZY! During a TX summer, I want it below 72! ! Help please!
Hi, apologies for the extremely late reply, i thought all comments had been responded to. if you live in a multi-residential building, one possible cause would be that there is a central controller in your building that is restricting maximum temperatures in heating and minimum temperatures in cooling. Some strata's put restrictions on these high and low settings, to save energy.
@@wayneharris7809 hello. I have a HL code when I try to activate the thermostat. I have this dual air-conditioning from LG and a thermostat in each room. It is not on all the time. And in one room the thermostat works only after there is power failure. Than it fonctions for a few days and out of nowhere, it begins to show HL when triing to start it. So the led doesn't turn green anymore. It seems all locked. Any ideea? Thank you

I have the same thermostat and the biggest issue I am having is struggling to keep a set temperature. Say I set 2Set point control to 21 low, 25 high. It will enter the heating mode and keep pumping hot air till it reaches 25. Then, instead of shutting off or entering the fan mode, it would enter enter a cooling mode and blow cold air all the way down to 21. Then it repeats this cycle. Is this the intended behavior? It is very wasteful and I want to have fan/ventilation mode in-between instead. Other time it heats up to 25 and exits the auto mode into the heating mode. Are there some setting that are wrong for me?
Hi, The operation that you are describing does not appear to correct. As the room temperature gets closer to the set point in the thermostat, the system should start to ramp down. where are you located?
Hi Lindsay, I left you a question but it ended up as a reply to one of the below comments. Is there a way to set the thermostat back to factory default? I had a tech person tell me how to program this thermostat to set it so the temperature is maintained +/- 1 degree, but it doesn't seem to work. I did that by holding down the gear (setting) key until the display flashes then pressing the same button repeatedly until you get to "15:00". He then told me to push th up arrow button until the display reads "15:03" then press "ok" then "esc". Do you recomend this programming? It have the thermostat set to automatic climate and auto fan. It seems our condo at Escala runs +/- 2 degrees. Is this normal? Thx
Mine is stuck on HL, it doesn’t show anything else other than HL and another screen with the time. Setback is not lit up at all so hitting that does nothing. I’ve emailed your info email multiple times now without any response.

Hi, unfortunately the unlocking needs to be carried out on the thermostat. Is there a service and maintenance contractor looking after your LG VRF system? If yes, perhaps they can help you. If not, then search for the local LG VRF distribution company. Sorry I can't be more help.
Why the eff did LG make a thermostat so unnecessarily complicated? And why did the Escala choose this thermostat? And who knows how to remove this for a Google nest?
Vince, At the time of installation this was the only programmable thermostat provided by LG, there are some more user friendly thermostats available now from lg. Take a look at the PREMTB100. it is also possible to use a 3rd party thermostat but you would need a tech to install a dry contact.

The PREMTB10U is no longer in production. The replacement is PREMTB100, much easier to work with.

If your thermostat doesn't have a set back button, then it is not an LG PREMTB10U Thermostat.

My problem is interlinked oper is always there on the top right corner, which is also a hard lock preventing me change mode. Could you please help me?

+/- 2°C is normal. You don't want your unit cycling on and off too frequently.
