- Hello, I’m Angela, I’m 45 and a size 14. Due to the cost of living crisis, I’ve no budget for new clothes this summer, so I thought I’d share, my neutral capsule wardrobe, that I’ve put together from my existing clothes. I hope it might inspire you to re-wear the clothes you have or trying mixing things up a little. I lead a pretty simple life in the countryside so I’ve no need for anything too fancy or high fashion, I like a simple relaxed style. Thank you for watching 😊

I agree with Julia. Most of us are working, middle class individuals. We like to look nice, but we’re not going to be constantly being expensive high end all designer clothing.

I never would have thought to mix and match blacks into a summer wardrobe, but with the whites and tans you paired them with made it all work perfectly. That alone will expand my own "old stuff" into year round clothing. Thanks again for sharing such a great video!

Amazing comment 😊thank you! A blazer always makes me feel polished, I love one with jeans too. I have to admit though that not only was this white linen blazer from a charity shop it was also originally from Primark 😂 so it is wearing well and getting lots of use 🎉

New to your channel! I am in the US and I am 30 years old. I definitely like a classy style with only quality fabrics, so I tend to thrift just about everything. I am amazed that even the higher costs at the thrift stores! I already try to be very picky about what I buy for sake of consumption, but when I find a really nice quality piece in great condition, it is absolutely worth the price even double! It just depends on what you were buying think. Thank you for talking about the cost of living crisis. I hear it is far more impactful to the every day person over the big pond, and it has been here as of yet. I find it so refreshing that you are presenting a styling ethic that does not include links and promotions for shopping. I think we can easily find our personal style based on what we already have, and working with it, then, lifting, or even buying new items within that realm. I absolutely love that my style is very unique and irreplicable.

Firstly thank you so much for your lovely compliment and for taking the time to comment, I absolutely agree with all you’ve said, I have managed to pick up some brilliant bargains in charity shops (thrift shops) over the years, the white linen jacket is secondhand, but it washes perfectly, and I use it so much. The overconsumption on social media (instagram anyway) is quite shocking, I have no idea people afford it or where they store it all. I’m very much trying to lead a more minimal lifestyle and can feel the benefits of having less stuff on the whole… here’s to wearing classics and re-wearing them for years to come (and think of the money we are saving by doing so) also, yes, even charity shop prices have gone up here, everything has gone up it seems 😅 x x

Thanks for showing the many ways to style each item in your capsule wardrobe. They are basics, yet the added detail of a puffed sleeve or a pretty neckline makes each piece look special. Hooray! Someone doing the neutral capsule wardrobe with a body like mine! I have been watching some vids from a certain younger TH-camr, but she wears really boxy oversized shirts and jackets and although it looks lovely on her, I would look like an elephant. You have proved that it's possible to look chic in neutrals with curves and without these horrible boxy shapes! I especially liked the black or was it brown(?) dress with the puffy sleeves and the black top with the black shorts. I haven't worn shorts since I was in my 30s (I am in my 50s now) and you have given me the courage to try them again. Also, I think the key is to create a long line, so even if you think you can't wear white, for instance, wear white all the way down the body but you can break it up with a black jacket and tan/gold/black accessories. Just don't wear anything that breaks up the line and saws you in half like a belt in a darker colour. Thank you, you're a sweetheart ♥

I’m loving your style exactly what my 66yrs old is all about. I’m on a budget and doing my best to stick to what I already have in my closet. Yes I’m the same, not too keen on the tops of my arms, I like a longer sleeved T-shirt, this one was from Sainsbury’s, their own TU clothing line, it was only a few pounds, but it was last year, I’m pretty sure they’re standard though and do them each year. Im 63, so older than you but same size and do the same type of work. I'm hubby's fetch and carry person 😂. On a work day I can be clearing out gutters or running to the builder store. Sometimes I go out, and I do travel. Some days I'm sitting at the computer or working in the garden. Its nice to find someone on TH-cam who has a multifaceted life I can relate to😊

You definitely look like you're ready for summer with your casual, neutral wardrobe of great styles! Here in the U.S. things are continuing to rise in price on food and clothing. Actually, everything is getting super expensive, so most people aren't buying any clothing or they're buying VERY CAREFULLY. But, even though I've not bought much for summer, it's been a fun a creative oulet to create new outfits in my wardrobe. You've given me a few extra outfit ideas to try.

Your colour selection is perfect. Thank you for being so elegant and down to earth. That beige trench coat is very stylish. White, cream. black and white linen shirts are my favourite too. Because Linen is suitable for a hot tropical climate as ours. It"s very hot in Sri Lanka these days.

@@hideawaycottage Sri Lanka has two climatic zones. The wet and dry. And it becomes warm in April and September. But you can get cool English weather in Upcountry areas within two hours. If you travel to Ohiya and Nuwara eliya, then its misty and cold. If you go around the island its always golden beaches and hot sun. It does cool down at night.

Hello over in Canada, and a warm welcome 😊 well, the white blazer was not only from a charity shop (thrift shop) many years ago but it was originally only from Primark (a very basic and bargain clothing store) 😂😂 so it is serving me well for receiving such a lovely compliment 😊

Hey 👋 thank you so much for such a lovely comment, and I totally agree with you re the animal print…as I don’t feel as good in them, I think I’m cool skin toned so they’re a bit “warm” for me.
