I'm glad y'all didn't award any "Best"s to all the AI stuff at CES. Honestly a lot of it just felt like more of the same, blind, investor-buzzwordy hype. Say, the Rabbit R1, give it 6 months, and I'm betting that all its functionality is gonna get swallowed up by Google Assistant and the like. I do think that tech to improve accessibility is definitely a step in the right direction though, and I'm glad those got more of the spotlight this CES.
I was super excited by the transparent tv: my tv is in front of a window that looks out over a lake....yeah, I want to see through the tv when it's off!!!!
The rotating wheels are cool, it is definitely still just a concept though. But, it's really cool to see this almost become reality, this is something straight out of concepts for the future!
Kia PV5 and Sony Afeela seem to fit concept-wise. Make a car modular, and you can combine Sony's theater system with whatever else you want for the rest of your car.
About the samsung music frame speaker thing, how about putting a screen to show you know? the album art seems like the most obvious thing ever, how did they miss that is crazy
0:32 that car looks amazing, and then the zombies come it'll be easier to maneuver. 1:37 no such thing as "battery generator", that's just an oversized UPS, a generator converts energy such as a gas generator transforming mechanical movement into electricity 2:46 now we just gotta wait for next Gen GPU to be able to drive a 4k 240 fps properly without sacrificing detail 7:24 that transparent TV looks so cool, even though normal people will have almost zero use for it
I did like the leg assist system that I’ve seen around $500. This was a system that strap to your hip and help with the last mile or help on carry a load. I’m surprised you didn’t mention this on your reviews.
I wouldn't hold your breath on the removing of a steering wheel in the modular van concept any time soon. Also, the Sony theater on wheels was a pick? Drivers are distracted enough as it is without the entire front of the dash being made of screens.
The verge always has the best content. Nilai and the whole verge team are just killing it between TH-cam, verge cast and decoder. Thanks for everything you guys do.
The chassis space needed to make that 75 deg turn only makes the case for sphere wheels more. Both Goodyear and Mitch already have pre production tire models.
This year the Engadget team was better at reporting from CES 2024. Engadget's TH-cam channel was constantly updated with regular (horizontal) videos, while Verge team seemed to focus more on TH-cam shorts.
Same with all EVs, a guy even exploded his tesla since it was cheaper than a fix or paying to dispose of it, EVs are the new iphone in terms of repairability but everyone ignores it by saying that are more “eco friendly” than gas cars, but could be worse in many aspects car companies don’t want to save the planet they just want you buying more cars more frequently than before
That story was not straightforward. The actual cost of the full battery pack is about $30k CAD plus installation. The battery is also modular so typically you wouldn't be getting the whole battery pack replaced at once. In this case, the owner physically damaged the battery and the independent dealer quoted the high price without consulting Hyundai Canada.
You’re talking about where electric car technology is at “today” which is still relatively young, probably even in puberty… But in the next 3-5-10 years it will be very different as the technology is developed and matures and becomes more mainstream. Prices will come down in order to become mainstream… otherwise it won’t become mainstream if the general population can’t afford it.
Ugggh . . . why is there no computer monitor / display innovation for productivity workers? Gamers, yes. But millions of use stare at displays all day and we demand innovation. 8k displays. Unique aspect ratios, etc. Give us something!
Imagine gushing over a matte coating instead of just getting some goddamn curtains so you can actually see the resolution and contrast of your OLED. Actual pepegery.
"What I love about the EcoFlow, is that it's really simple to install. You just need an electrician to hook it up."
This made me literally laugh out loud
compared to standard breaker panels which require 2 electricians? 😂
compared to standard breaker panels which require 2 electricians? 😂
hahaha I came for this comment
Lol
I need a transparent TV to show off to guests my wicked cable management skills.
Something that requires an electrician to install isn’t ’simple to hook up’
I think they say that to not get sued
I cackled when she said that!
"It's really easy to install, you just need an electrician to hook it up." Really???🤔😱

Lol, thank you for the amazing coverage during CES, The Verge team!
I love that Hyundia will market the Hyundai Mobis E-corner system to other carmakers, i could definitely see this fixing the tight spaces problem.
They should make it mandatory for public transit.

I don't get the AI hate you guys have tbh 🙄
@@danielayanfe3592i don’t get the AI wanking you guys have tbh
@@danielayanfe3592it's because AI is in it's infancy stage right now and all the products in the marks are pure gimmicks
I can totally see those transparent displays ending up as windscreens in a car like a HUD.
I was super excited by the transparent tv: my tv is in front of a window that looks out over a lake....yeah, I want to see through the tv when it's off!!!!
The Kia PV5 is basically the company looking at Canoo and think “lol we can up one on them.”
Both my wife and I miss our minivan - can’t wait for some electric ones to show up!!!
Realy! Did Jennifer Pattison Tuohy just say 'Robot vacuums are life changing'!
🤨
With the OLED T, imagine a few years from now they make a version that has multiple layers stacked in front of each other... proper 3D video
The rotating wheels are cool, it is definitely still just a concept though. But, it's really cool to see this almost become reality, this is something straight out of concepts for the future!
Loved the TV with no reflection...
Alignment gonna be fun on the Hyundai
Concept cars like this have existed for decades.
Seriously, the verge is really good at what they do. your content is just very good.
You're very kind! Thank you 😌
Glad to see Corey Feldman got back on track.
Love the Delta Pro but wish they would come out with a solid state battery version
“It is really easy to install: you just need an electrician to hook it up.” Quality journalism right there.
That ring, "we're so accurate you can trust is. 😅" That's like the first line of every scam ever.

this whole thing felt like an ad
"It's really easy to install, you just need an electrician to hook it up." 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂
This was a beautiful review. Thoughtful and honest.
My TV is in a bay window, if it could go transparent when off that would be awesome to allow seeing through the window.
the transparent tv might make a good heads up display
The verge has such a great team. Nilay is like the Jon Stewart of tech journalism. I’m surprised I know the name of everyone featured here.
That Hyundai steering. Wow. We wants it, my precious. We wants it baaaaaaaad.
About the samsung music frame speaker thing, how about putting a screen to show you know? the album art seems like the most obvious thing ever, how did they miss that is crazy

Links to the mopping robot and accessibility technology please! Or better yet, videos!
TOGG's fastback seemed like a great one and from what I saw of their SUV it is going to be a solid car.
“Heeyunday”
I've had a career in cleaning up spilled milk for over 20 years and now a robot is taking my job.
Innovation for the landfill.
This is a great summary of CES for rich people. I didn't see anything in this video that us normal folk could even think about purchasing.
The Ecoflow caught my attention. I keep getting power outages where I live. 😜
I am coming to MWC, hope to meet you there
Love Becca!! Whenever I see Becca, I click ❤
Becca bringing us the good stuff!!!! 👋🏼
Yes! Solving problems that don't exist!
I love all tech form CES 2024 🇮🇳🤝🇺🇸
I wouldn't hold your breath on the removing of a steering wheel in the modular van concept any time soon.

Hundai mobis that wheel 😮😮😮 just wooo

After all these years I’m glad that I finally met you in person becca !
It seems that the latest technology in the world has been used in making this vehicle
The chassis space needed to make that 75 deg turn only makes the case for sphere wheels more. Both Goodyear and Mitch already have pre production tire models.
Loved the handy
We spot Matic! 🔥🤖
Hello! ✌️
The Ecoflow segment really sound like it’s sponsored…
I'm only 30 why do all these people make me feel old?
Turning 32 soon.
We are old.
"Really simple to install. You just need an electrician to hook it up"
Did sony skip vision-s for afeela?
Great picks, your coverage each here is fantastic! I love how you all just call it how you see it
Dangit, I was hoping there would be something about upcoming streaming devices.
how is no one talking about Tom Warren in a star trek uniform ;)
Some weird picks
Rabbit r1 was my stand out product
Watched this for Becca and she was at the end loool, it was still good tho
The heeyunday wheels are cool
So the Kia logo actually sais KV1?
Lack of imagination does not mean anything it just means it is not for you.

Cool ad.
Kinda feels like you picked a bunch of vaporware.
Those continuos glucose monitors have been out they registered on your cell phone.
the ring only lasts 3 to 4 days on one charge compared to others
Hy-un-dai?
I miss living in Vegas 😢
Why is it presented by deloitte btw?
Bigpharma baby.
Funny how a ring that increases cancer risk because of constriction is considered a health device :))
good stuff
I would never get an ioniq 5 after the recent fiasco in Canada where the battery replacements cost more than the car itself brand new!

Actually there were 3 owners/incidents in Canada

Samsung, Dolby vision. Plz
This people go hard on DEI
It's easy to install, you just need an electrician to hook it up.... lolwut?
7:42 Why ? Maybe because a 80 inch black surface in the living room is *not* the most beautiful thing in the world.
Price situation apart, but why would anyone in the world want the traditional black tv? Everything is better than a big black whole on the wall :)
Hoonda is not only late to EVs but are Missing in Action for anything real.
presented by deloitte????
Nothing that you can buy. This year was just dreams
None of all those cars and gadgets ever make it to the public.
Your first pick was tech that existed 100yrs ago... Lol do some research. (Might not be exact 100 although it was black & white video.
Those cars been around for years
why tf this is sponsored by deloitte
What game is he playing on that monitor?
Hyundai Ev: Or you could just learn to drive...
I saw a lot of the reasons why the Congo is in the terrible condition that is in right now.
The verge should require guests/hosts to brush their teeth before going on video…
I miss Dieter :(
we love CES!!!!!
screw with confidence
LG was best 👌
Imagine gushing over a matte coating instead of just getting some goddamn curtains so you can actually see the resolution and contrast of your OLED. Actual pepegery.
Best "wheels?" Really?
only nvidia stands out
