Emilio Sosa is gorgeously gifted. He shouldn't have toned it down for his finale runway. He's a very successful costume designer on Broadway. Two time Tony nominated and very busy. (I know he didn't win PR:)

It’s kind of like winning is a curse…apparently until recently all the “winners” had no ownership rights for their designs for anything they did. Tim Gunn had to quit to get them to change that and he forced them to make it retroactive to the first contract any designer contestant had with them. They agreed but then reneged and he had to quit a second time to force it to happen.
I wasn't the biggest fan of his, but am really enjoying his TH-cam shorts.... making me reconsider my initial thoughts about what he produced on the show. Very talented guy.

I never understood how they judge the contestants. One time they criticize them because they make something boring then when they do out there they tell them to make something that is timeless and classic. Frankly, the high-end designers seem to do things that most people could never or would never wear.
Making clothes for the masses isn't what "high" fashion is all about. Of course nobody would wear most of what you saw on PR or any runway (couldn't even begin to afford it mostly and how many of us are 6'2" and weigh 100 pounds!). It's all about showing your creative style and talent and "eye" for what can be done fashion wise. It's a big "sell". See us? This is what we can do.
Dom and Mondo were so talented. Christian was not my favorite when he was on the show but he grew so much since his win. He has a very inclusive pov for his collections and marketed himself very well, he also seems very approachable and humble (but with a bit of attitude to show his personality) - I am so happy to see his success today.
Laura Bennett wasn't a villain, and she wasn't making up false accusations about Jeffrey, she was concerned he hadn't followed the rules and said something. They investigated and determined he was okay. Jeffrey was a jerk.
I met Jay once, I went to Philidelphia School of Textiles and Sciene. He came to talk to the incoming class and took a few of us out on the town. His personality on the show is exactly who he is in real life.
Let’s be real- it’s a very fun show but the vast majority of designers were pretty awful. The only consistently great designer out of all Of the seasons was Kentaro.
I agree with Tim on Ashley's win. She had good designs in the show but her final collection was terrible. The fact that they gave her the win felt condescending.
I agree with this! I’m currently rewatching a lot of the seasons. Season 14 was always one of my favorites because so many of the clothes were so beautiful. Hers included. And I love the idea of a plus sized collection. And I was excited that she made it to the finale. And a lot of plus sized pieces Christian has made are gorges. And is something that I think is super important to be acknowledged in the industry. Ashley’s collection in the finale were so juvenile, cheesy and unflattering. She had the opportunity to create something really amazing and turn the industry around and it fell flat. There was a taste issue. And I feel the other designers were robbed of a win. However if she had lost I think the show would’ve gotten so much backlash for lack of inclusivity. And I think that’s where her win came from.
I couldn't agree more about Anya. She made some beautiful pieces but her range and skill level were nowhere near the other finalists. I think Josh should have won season 9.
I agree about acid-yellow Erin. Orange-Yellow was always my favorite crayon. But she and Michelle had some weird obsession with that neon color. And Michelle was drawn to frog-in-a-blender green. I didn't get it.
They pick the winners before the show shoots...and the producers, not the judges pick the winner AND project runway owns the rights to recreate anything you make on the show. That’s why I didn’t go on there

It just sounds like its a lot of work to keep up with the demand of fashion. You have to keep coming up with new ideas and the competition must be deadly. I think I would rather just selling clothing in smaller venues, wearable clothes and nothing artsy all the time.

Gretchen Jones looks a little bit to me like Karen Carpenter, the singer. If she would dye her hair dark she would look more like her and she just reminds me of her how the way she acts and facial expressions. Karen was a very lovely person.
This video is kind of misleading. You mention that Dom won season 12 and All stars. Yet, Michelle did the same, but you didn't mention that. Other winners listed here are more present on social media and have successful careers, just not the same as like Christian.

I loved the early seasons of the show, Kors and Tim Gunn were my favorite. Anyone notice that Kors would start selling boots or clothes that resembled the winners and non winners of the show? He also told Heidi that he needs clothes to sell! Then he left the show. By gones are by gones.
This show was so typical of this country’s diseased heart when it comes to competition. The contestants were never nice to each other, and sometimes would literally have nasty fights! The world of fashion is full of self important assholes with god like attitude, which is grotesque considering that they are not saving the world, but making clothes! In comparison, you watch a show like the Great British Bake Off in the UK, which is such a great show because the participants genuinely love each other, they encourage each other and often stay good friends long after their appearance on the show. It is so lovely and refreshing to watch such a show. Thank you Great Britain!

Which leads us to conclude that the ineffable "project runway" is an antics that only enhances the ego of the insufferable winners such as Jefreey Sebelia or Gretchen Jones, who were unbearable and less talented than many who came in second or third places. Exactly all those who should not have won, won.
Does Kamajam ever give credit to Christian Siriano for his success? I can't believe that the judges said they'd never seen anything like his runway show. It screamed Christian. Black & white - big ruffles. We had seen it all before. That's beyond derivative; it's screaming plaguerism. (And don't get me wrong, I was no Christian fan when that show aired but even I can recognize a 'look.')

What a stupid title. From what I saw in this video, most of the winners have found creative jobs and new paths. Not everyone can become Christian Dior, but they did manage to get carriers. Who knows what could have been without Project Runway?
