i've been a samsung user for the longest time but i feel that they're just doing "good enough" for the past 3-4 years now. Software wise, sure its better than alot of their competition but its narrowed to the point where it makes jumping to other platform with silicon-carbon batteries, dedicated ISP and better camera sensors less painful. My S24U will probably be the last samsung for now, lets see if the vivo x200 ultra / X fold 4 pro can win my "flagship phone" position for more than 1 generation.
my question is why are you upgrading every year or 2? Sure back then Samsung was more exciting but the smartphone was cheaper and in it's early stages. Now a phone is an investment, the cost is way more expensive but you are paying for a reliable phone with great software… you don’t need the latest and greatest… Samsung still offers more then most companies but the best part is their flaagships are built to last and they do what they need to on top of the cool stuff you can do with them. phones have matured now 'there’s no need to upgrade every year, hell every 3 years tbh.
It is a personal thing I guess. Some people just like to have the latest tech, and have the money to finance this easily. Some people like myself are on two year phone contracts, and get to keep a device when it is paid for at the contracts end, and then my carrier gives me a new device of my choice when I renegotiate another two year contract with them. All this includes insurance and damage cover etc. I agree with you in principal though when you say that three years is needed with some manufacturers like Samsung to see any real noticeable upgrade worthiness. As I said though, it is ultimately down to the individual.

I am a man of simple needs. If I am to jump from my S23 Ultra to an S25 Ultra (on contract), all I ask for is better low light video performance, especially at 4K60. Just got an S24U to replace my old Note on which the battery finally kicked it. Otherwise not really and I plan on keeping the S24U for years, or until the next major upgrade/refresh to the Ultra line. Maybe S27U or beyond? Free Gemini for a yr is cool but seriously doubt many will continue after. Not a fan of the whole subscription model the industry seems to be turning to in general..
I love the way that you give the news Jaime it is informative and so fun! I think I sit on one of your other recent tech briefing videos that I am not a Samsung design fan until they change that design and give us something else. I don't know what that something else is but I need more design wise from their phones then. Anything else at this point.
That is not how upscaling works. It upscales a rendered image to a higher resolution, to balance performance and image quality. It will not reduce the file size in and of itself.
I like the idea of a 16E but if it’s basically a amped up 14 while the 14 is selling that’d be a bit weird. To me the naming implies within the same generation so it should share a build similar to the 16s but then what do you take away from it? That’s tuff to answer because you don’t want it to be too similar, maybe the same reported build but based off the 15 instead with the 16s chip, then there’s overlap again because it’s only benefit over the base 15 would be the higher ram for Apple Intelligence.
s25ultra has to prove itself considerably superior over the s24ultra, for me to spend money on it. Otherwise, i like the squarish looks of the 24ultra and its features, plus the reduced pricing once the 25 launches.
It won't...but knowing Samsung they'll do lucrative deals for 24-22u owners...that's what they usually do every year to get more numbers up from their current demographic

They need to put a little more focus on the base model s25, so it doesn't feel fast lesser than the ultra because they are all flagship devices. Already the plus is getting some Ultra features already, so should the s25 too.
I have the Z Fold 5 and plan to wait for the Fold 7. My last Ultra was the S22, and while I think the S25 Ultra will be spectacular, I don't think I'll go back to the slab phone anytime soon. On a side note, yearly upgrades need to be tempered with the fact that u'll only get incremental hardware and software updates.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and ever since iOS 17 came out it’s only been a frustrating experience. The bugs and anti-features (like the new gallery) made me wanna buy either the pixel 9 pro or normal S25. Apple used to want to please customers but now it feels like they don’t care. They keep gatekeeping features from older phones even though they are 100% able to do those tasks.

Of course the S10e is my favorite phone, and favorite on many people including you. I can't find a new device to change it, and I hold on to it, for almost 6 years now .. I want that capacitive fingerprint senson on the side power buton, along with the same size and vibrant color options such as mine - canary yellow. But there isn't one. (and no, the battery is not problem, you just have to change it every 2/3 years, and also my usage isn't big, it's medium I would say, and I charge the battery only once per day.)
Better bigger battery, faster charging OR pass through charging, better speakers, better thermals and Smooth glitch free User experience.. if they can get this right I’ll buy the s25!
No iPhone SE, iPhone will be the base model, iPhone Air as midrange, & iPhone Pro as Flagship. They will do the same thing in their iPad lineups to iPhone like there's no iPad SE.
I'm looking forward to S25 Ultra. I have an S24 Ultra and it's been an amazing phone. SnapDragon Elite and 12 gigs of ram, that's enough for me to upgrade. But I hope the satellite connection rumor is true.
Jaime, una pregunta, únicamente por curiosidad. Este nuevo canal es porque en el otro alguien tenía los derechos? O simple desacuerdos laborales con los dueños?
As much of a Samsung fan boy I've been (currently have s24 ultra), I think I'm being turned onto One Plus more and more and the 13 is looking to be great. Especially at the lower price, you're not paying for the name/brand as much like you are with Samsung. I've found myself not needing the S pen, being that using a pen is way more practical on a tablet. The s24 ultra is very nice, but too dang heavy and boxy for me.
I’ve been a faithful iPhone user since the iPhone 7. Today, I’m on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which may be the worst phone Apple has ever released. My battery health is trash, connectivity is extremely spotty, and it constantly overheats. You’ll catch me placing a pre-order for that Galaxy S25 Ultra later this month.
Been on iPhone since the seven. Before that I had every Samsung S phone. This iPhone platform has me locked with the ecosystem as it’s so convenient so it’s hard for me to change. Those new Samsungs look amazing though
My most expensive phone was a whole whopping 200 dollars (converted from local currency) and i dont really see why people buy flagship phones, i use each phone for 2 or 3 years then buy a new one
There are many factors. Personally, I buy flagship phones due to mainly the Camera(s) and overall the higher specs, which enable me to use them for longer periods. I now use the S20 FE that I bough almost 4 years ago (but unfortunately with the Exynos chip and no 5G), which due to that chip, it starts to lag these days. But the cameras are still pretty good for taking high quality pictures and videos in most lighting conditions.
Great job on the video keep up the good work... Yeah I get it Samsung saves all the special features for the ultra but not all of us want a gigantic phone so it would be great if Samsung would update the cameras on the s25 and the s25 Plus as these phones have fallen behind the competition by a lot in the camera department.
Nintendo Switch Gets a Makeover: The next Nintendo Switch is expected to have a powerful but older Samsung 8nm CPU, surprisingly, but might leverage Al upscaling technology for 4K graphics. (5:12) Gala 9:08 xy S25 Rumors: The Galaxy S25 models might have both Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets, depending on the region. (6:42) The Galaxy S25 base model is rumored to have 12GB of RAM. (7:27) Samsung is offering 12 months of free Google Gemini Advance with any Galaxy S25 purchase. (7:33) The Galaxy S25 will include crash detection, a feature that has been available on One Ul since version 5 but was dormant. (8:01)
22, 23,24 Ultra user here, absolutely no way I will upgrade again to 25. The pre-order and trade-in deals are really not worth it anymore especially for this limited an 'upgrade'. Oneplus or Vivo next I reckon.
I dont think any amount of megapixels would matter if Samsung's processing remains the way it is now aka not that good. Fine for the average user so nothings gonna change unfortunately. The current HP2 sensor used by Samsung as their main lens in the Ultras still feels like a first gen foldable in some ways. No tangible quality increase over 50mp and sometimes its so bad that those 200 megapixels might as well be fake, like if you were to run a 50mp photo through an AI upscaler. But hey, its nice that they make these new and cool sensors for their biggest competitor right? Same with the displays. Samsung has become quite boring i these past few years. Or maybe theyre scared of overdelivering and raising the bar too far for the next generation of devices. Overall im just not interested in the S25 series.
Me too like you I am not interested in s25 ultra nothing new just the rounded corner new snapdragon and ultra wide camera not worth the upgrade from s23 ultra and 24ultra
Samsung phones also had phone call recording for years. Decade even. But took Apple launching it with AI for Samsung to unlock it on U.S. models. No idea why.

Samsung disappointed me this year in battery department 😢
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and ever since iOS 17 came out it’s only been a frustrating experience. The bugs and anti-features (like the new gallery) made me wanna buy either the pixel 9 pro or normal S25. Apple used to want to please customers but now it feels like they don’t care. They keep gatekeeping features from older phones even though they are 100% able to do those tasks.
Apple always have bugs I also like android over ios but I will give apple credit for the great battery life
Maybe consider a Xiaomi or OnePlus, Samsung isn't looking good this generation
@@-Ventrix- I don’t like the humongous cameras on either. I want a small and sleek phone with an AOD. I like the One UI beta so far and that they’re gonna come with a sd chip instead of exynos in Europe. I also plan to use it for a couple years like my iPhone 12pm and idk how long Xiaomi and 1+ are gonna support their current devices
thats normal with updates, it gets fixed overtime, it isnt any different over here either
@@-Ventrix-lol this is lies
i didnt finish the video but please tell me thats its gonna have 120hzz on the se4
I am looking forward to the S25vUltra also
I've had the last few Ultras but nothings really improved enough ... so I'm princely going with the OnePlus 13 when it's available for my next device.
Going all in on S25 Ultra coming from S21U. Still hoping it gets real Qi2 with magnets...rumors can be wrong sometimes🤞
Will the s25 series have qi2 charging like the iPhone version
Hoping for it
I dont know what the point is with these slim phones
It's it the name...you don't like it, then don't buy it
@@WoodRumble well I have no idea what the product might be like could be really good, I just don't understand the point yet
Haha I knew I wasn’t alone! I’m gonna go look for mine. Enjoy
Better bigger battery, faster charging OR pass through charging, better speakers, better thermals and Smooth glitch free User experience.. if they can get this right I’ll buy the s25!
We'll see. I never understand why that's so complicated
Samsung/Apple has always been bestfriends😂
Please include timestamps. We ask for this in every video.
I like the 5 topic thing keep it up.
Keep it up! Looking forward to the videos from CES. my son has said he is going to get the 25 Ultra and switch from his Apple 15 pro.
No iPhone SE, iPhone will be the base model, iPhone Air as midrange, & iPhone Pro as Flagship.
They will do the same thing in their iPad lineups to iPhone like there's no iPad SE.
I totally forgot Jaime left Pocketnow. I'm glad I found him again
So happy you’re here! Thanks for the support
S26U might be worth waiting for in terms of redesign.
So I’ve heard. Hard to predict that far
I'm on an S23 Ultra second hand. It's way to expensive to upgrade to the latest Ultra every year.
no one does unless they're on contract, dont believe random ppl on the internet lol, i have lots of rich friends and they dont upgrade every year
Dont be poor in 2k25 you are american etf ..how americans are poor?
What is you trade in every year?
Still using an S21. Great phone with an awesome camera.
I always look forward to the new Galaxy phones but this year I really want to see the OnePlus Open2. It might be my first foldable 🤔
I'm considering trading in my Pixel 8 Pro for the Note 25 Ultra. My previous phone was the amazing Note 20 Ultra. Gr8 vid as usual. 📱 🇺🇸
@Dac_DT_MKD i only use my phone for calls and light gaming, as well as general entertainment which my a15 is perfect for
cause people can afford to do so, remember not everyone is in the same wealth bracket
The new controller leaked too. Oh my word. 😂 Ninrendo get it together.
🤣🤣 I'm optimistic
Excelent episode !!!!!
Nintendo Switch Gets a Makeover: The next Nintendo Switch is expected to have a powerful but older Samsung 8nm CPU, surprisingly, but might leverage Al upscaling technology for 4K graphics. (5:12)
Gala 9:08 xy S25 Rumors: The Galaxy S25 models might have both Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets, depending on the region. (8:01)
Hey what happened to pocket now
Damn Majin Buu is into tech now.
🤣🤣 Dude! I said the same thing.
Title of the video is ontl discussed in the last couple min of the video...
I'm trying to get my Fold 5 paid off so I can get out of it. I hate my Fold. The Ultra is probably what I'll purchase.
Yup too overpriced too fragile and lacks too much
Sticking with my S23+ until the S26. It just makes sence.
Yeah you’re good. That’s such a good phone
Waiting for S25 base model because it's a compact device. Don't think there is any compact smartphone with flagship performance.
Seriously
Im probably going S25 Ultra. Im a heavy S Pen user and not having one is a deal breaker for me personally.
Same. I need my S Pen
