It's my mission to watch all the Merchant Ivory films, I can't believe that I haven't already. They are more than film, they provide such deep understanding of human emotion, and the finer, deeper stuff humans are made of.

That’s because most of them are based on classic novels :)

Maurice is such an underrated Merchant-Ivory film. You should watch it.

Two cinematic icons and legends in the same room. I believe that Vanessa should have won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her performance.
James Ivory is someone I would love to meet in person,
may God bless you Sir with good health for the future.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim, an Oregonian, through his contributions to the Special Collections at the University of Oregon Library, his Alma Mater. I had written to him that due to his film A Room With a View, I visited Florence where I met my future husband at a concert. Jim is a wonderfully kind and warm person and it was a thrill to spend time with him.

I was very upset when Vanessa did not win the Oscar for Howard's End.

Trivia: Vanessa Redgrave’s mother Rachel Kempson also played the character of Ruth Wilcox, in a BBC adaptation of Howards End in the late 1960s. Emma’s character Margaret Schlegel was played in that by Glenda Jackson.

I always laugh when Ruth Wilcox says “I am all too grateful not to have the terrible responsibility and obligation of voting.” The idea of Vanessa Redgrave putting down the suffragette movement!😅

Also a great interviewer! Friendly, open, little ego, ascendant and intelligent.
